Gurmisran went out of the door and walked quickly without stopping. He called a taxi and took a few deep breaths after he got in. Then, he suddenly let out an uncontrollably laugh.
The taxi driver thought Gurmisran was crazy, so he stared at him from the rearview mirror.
Gurmisran didn’t care about the taxi driver’s gaze and he laughed for a while before he stopped smiling.
To be honest, when he heard that Angel was pregnant with his child, his first reaction was to be afraid that Ornard would kill him.
However, his fear disappeared when he heard William casually tell him that he could replace Ornard’s position and take over the Laban’s family’s business.
He was an ambitious person, so it was natural that he was unwilling to work under another person. He had never dared to deal with Ornard before he met William today, but it was different now.
Angel was the woman he slept with that night and she was pregnant with his child. This was a good opportunity for him.
He had been suppressed by Ornard for the rest of his life and he was always salvaging the Ornard’s leftovers.
In fact, Gurmisran was unwilling to do this, but he had his eyes on Ornard’s property.
Gurmisran felt that most of Ornard’s property was earned by his contribution, but Ornard only gave him a few meagre shares. Gurmisran felt that it was extremely unfair, but he couldn’t do anything about it. He continued to tolerate it because he thought that he would never be able to obtain a powerful position in this life. He didn’t expect that there would be a turning point.
Gurmisran knew Ornard and his family background very well.
Although Ornard was in a desperate situation now, he was not at the end of his rope.
He was still better off than most people and he would still be wealthy even if his company went bankrupt. Gurmisran roughly calculated in his heart. “Ornard’s real estate and antique collection could be sold for hundreds of millions, right?”
William and the Floyd family could deal with Ornard’s company. Gurmisran just needed to get the real estate and antiques.
He had to think of a good idea.
Of course, the most important thing at the moment was to carry out William’s orders and have Angel move into his house.
Gurmisran had never had this thought before. He hated Angel and he did not want to have anything to do with her at all.
But things were different now because he had to get in touch with Angel. After all, the child in Angel’s belly was the final bargaining chip for him to take over Ornard’s family business.
William stretched and stood up after he dealt with Gurmisran. Bobby immediately followed him and asked when they got in the car. “Where are we going, Sir?”
William asked Bobby, “Have you finished preparing the jewelry for Valeria?”
“Well, I’ve called them in the morning. Sir, are you going to get it now?” Bobby asked.
“Since it’s done, I should get the jewelry now so I can make Valeria happy when I get back.”
Bobby grinned and said when he heard that, “Sir, you’re becoming more and more like a slave.”
“Isn’t that good?” William asked.
“Madam is a good person, so you should treat her well,” Bobby answered honestly.
“Bobby!” William dragged out his name. “You’re not young anymore. It’s time for you to find a girlfriend.”
“I’m not in a hurry!” Bobby touched his head.
“Is it because you’re not ready?” William asked, “It’s been so many years, so you should let bygones be bygones. You have to look ahead.”
“I wasn’t thinking about the past and I’ve already gotten over it,” Bobby replied.
However, William didn’t believe it. “Since that’s the case, you should start a new life and have your own family with someone you love.”
“This… this… having children is too troublesome. I think it’s better to be alone.”
His words were obviously lies. If Bobby actually disliked kids, he would not stay at the maternity centre every day.
He would not always stay by Cade and Santhos’ bedside and wait for them to wake up so that he could play with them.
The smile on his face when he carried Cade and Santhos was from the bottom of his heart.
William tried to persuade him. “Bobby, look at me now. Don’t you envy me? Don’t you want to have a child and raise them?”
“I’m envious of your current life, but it’s because you’re blessed. I’m not as lucky as you.”
William sighed after hearing Bobby’s words. “This is not a matter of luck. In fact, everyone will be happy as long as they don’t give up hope and are willing to pursue happiness.”
Bobby drove in silence and he didn’t answer William’s question. When it looked like Bobby didn’t want to talk about it, William didn’t force him either.
Bobby parked the car and entered the jewellery shop with William when they arrived.
When the manager of the jewellery shop heard that William had come to pick up the jewellery, he immediately greeted him and led William and Bobby into the VIP room.
The staff brought in the custom-made jewellery for William to see. He opened the box and took a look at the piece. Both the craftsmanship and the style were very exquisite, which met William’s requirements.
He asked Bobby to pay with his card and the two left with the jewellery. Just as they walked to the door, they met Evelyn, who was wearing a wig.
Evelyn didn’t expect to meet William here. Surprise flashed across her eyes and a shy expression instantly appeared on her face as she looked at William affectionately.
William was filled with disgust when he saw Evelyn and he walked down the stairs with a straight gaze and a cold expression.
When Evelyn saw that William didn’t want to greet her at all, she bit her lip and took the initiative to call him first, “William!”
“What’s the matter?” William’s expression was obviously impatient.
“I have something to discuss with you, can you give me some time?” Evelyn didn’t want to be so lowly, but all her arrogance was gone when she saw William’s face. She didn’t think it was a big deal to be humiliated as long as she could get William to stay.
“I’m very busy and I don’t have time to deal with irrelevant people like you. Miss Gurney, you can just tell me right now.”
Evelyn’s heart ached as she looked at how cold William was being. What had she done wrong?
Wasn’t she in love with William? Was it wrong to like someone?
Evelyn said softly as she suppressed her heartache, “I want to explain to you about what happened to your wife.”
“What? What explanation can you give me?” William’s eyes were cold.
“I really didn’t do anything wrong to her. William, please believe me. I’m not such a vicious person! I…”
“Enough! Miss Gurney, your grandfather has already told me about this. Since you’re so kind, you should do more good deeds. I heard that you were beaten up recently and I wonder why that happened?”
