Chapter 1460 None of My Business

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

The smile on Meadow’s face not only became stiff, but it also faded away.
What was Emily trying to do this time? Was she looking down on Michael and the Davis family?
If it weren’t for the fact that Azalea was the eldest daughter of the Floyd family, she didn’t deserve to even become Michael’s maid. If it wasn’t because of her identity, the Davis family would never let such an incapable, wicked, and despicable woman into their home.
Could Emily not know how useless Azalea was? Meadow suppressed the unhappiness in her heart and said, “Ms. Poland, I’m very clear about your relationship with Azalea. She has also done a DNA test and confirmed that you are her mother. That’s why I wanted to talk to you about this.”
“Wait a minute! Mrs. Davis, have you completely lost your mind?” Emily’s voice cooled down. “Are you sure you know my relationship with Azalea? Did she do a DNA test to confirm that she’s my child? I suggest that you should see a doctor because I’m afraid that you’re being delusional! Azalea is such a disgusting and despicable person, so how can she be qualified to be my child?”
Meadow’s eyes widened when she heard this and she spoke incoherently. “You… you don’t admit it… How can you…”
Emily interrupted Meadow directly. “Why should I admit it? Mrs. Davis, why do you think that Azalea is related to me? Do you think she looks like me or has the same character as me? She’s lazy, arrogant, a murderer, and a liar. She shamelessly got in between two people who loved each other and she even killed Abbie. If she were my child, I would definitely send her into prison to prison myself!”
“This… Ms. Poland, please don’t joke with me! I’m really being serious with you and it’s for our children’s sake. Although our family can’t compare with the Floyd family, we’re not in a low position at all in B City. Michael and William are friends, and he’s also a famous lawyer. He’s more than enough to deserve Azalea.”
“Hahaha!” Emily laughed. “Mrs. Davis, it seems that you haven’t figured out the truth! I don’t care who Azalea marries because she has nothing to do with me. You don’t have to come to me about her affairs. Why don’t you understand what I’m saying? How can you mention the Floyd family? Mrs. Davis, why do you think that Azalea is related to them?”
“Aren’t you and Callum her… parents?”
“Did you favour Azalea just because you think that we’re her parents? Mrs. Davis, you really should go to the psychiatric ward. I’m very speechless about what you’re telling me! I’ll tell you one last time, Azalea has nothing to do with me and I don’t care who she marries. It doesn’t matter if she decided to stay single as well. If you think so highly of her just because she is the daughter of the Floyd family, then I’m afraid you will be disappointed. I’ll tell you seriously! Azalea is not the daughter of the Floyd family and she has never been!”
“How… how is this possible? I saw it with my own eyes… Madelyn…”
“But you didn’t see what happened after that. Mrs. Davis, you should clear your head and think about it carefully. Nothing comes for free in this world. Even if Azalea is related to the Floyd family, do you think they will give their assets to someone as shameless as her? You’d better not forget that William is part of their family as well. He’s talented, capable, and a complete genius. Isn’t he a thousand times better than Azalea?”
Emily stood up and said when she saw Meadow’s crushed expression, “I’m leaving! Mrs. Davis, please don’t call me about Azalea anymore and I won’t answer your calls. I don’t have time to deal with such a horrible person.”
Meadow was at a loss when she watched Emily striding away. Did she make a mistake?
Was Azalea really not related to the Floyd family? What should she do now?
She had always treated Azalea as the heiress of the Floyd family. She had gotten close to Azalea because she had her eyes on the Floyd family’s assets as well. Was all of her efforts in vain now that the reality wasn’t as she had expected?
She didn’t sacrifice too much for Azalea, but she incited Azalea to deal with Abbie and instigated her to kill Abbie. She also told Wayne that Azalea was the daughter of the Floyd family and he helped her carry out her schemes as well.
How would Wayne deal with her if Azalea really had nothing to do with the Floyd family?
Wayne didn’t like her at all and he had always ignored her. If she hadn’t given birth to someone as capable as Michael, he wouldn’t have allowed her to enter the Davis family at all.
Now, Wayne believed in Azalea’s identity because of the things she told him. She even made Wayne become enemies with the Clark family because of this and he would definitely deal with her after this.
Michael had distanced himself from her because of Abbie, so he would definitely not help her if Wayne targeted her.
She would end up in a miserable situation without Michael’s help.
Would Wayne drive her out of the Davis family in anger? If that really happened, she would become a laughing stock and lose the luxurious life she had been living.
The more Meadow thought about it, the more frightened she became and she couldn’t help trembling.
At two o’clock, Fandrey and Wayne entered the private room in a high-class restaurant in the city centre.
Wayne had arrived early, but he did not get out of the car. Instead, he had been waiting in his luxury car in front of the restaurant entrance.
After the butler told him that Fandrey’s car had arrived, he got out of the car and pretended that he had just arrived.
The two entered the room and sat down separately. Wayne asked Fandrey with a smile, “What do you want to drink? Moroccan or black tea?”
Fandrey said lightly, “Rose tea!”
Wayne smiled awkwardly and ordered a pot of rose and Moroccan tea.
Both of them were the same age and they had cooperated with each other before. However, most of the Floyd family businesses was overseas while the Davis family focused on the country, so they cut off contact.
Wayne took the initiative to mention their previous cooperations, but Fandrey’s expression was indifferent and reserved.
Wayne had to keep quiet because he felt embarrassed. When the waiter brought tea in, Wayne took a sip of tea and took the initiative to mention Azalea. “It’s a bit presumptuous of me to meet you today, but I have to ask you for help. We are both straightforward people, so I won’t hide it. I want to talk about Michael and Azalea.”
Fandrey raised his eyebrows and looked at Wayne with a faint smile. “Wait a minute! Do you want to talk about Michael and Azalea? Are you sure?”
Wayne did not realize that something was wrong, so he smiled and said, “Yes! This is our family’s fault and we should have discussed it with you earlier, but we dragged it on. She is pregnant and she hopes to get married to Michael, so I want to discuss this with you.”
Fandrey slowly took a sip of tea and said, “Mr. Davis, I don’t quite understand what you’re saying. Why are you discussing their matters with an outsider like me? This has nothing to do with me.”
