“The one you’re holding is Cade, and this little fellow on the bed is Santhos.” William pointed at the two babies and said to Braelynn.
“But they look exactly the same no matter how hard I stare! How can you tell?” Braelynn looked at Cade, then at Santhos. Their faces and even outfits were the same, and it was hard to differentiate.
“Don’t you think it’s hard to tell the difference if they wear the same clothes? They look identical!”
“Valeria mistake them too sometimes, but I will not!”
“Why is that so?”
“Because, I’m their father! I can even tell their difference with my eyes closed!”
“Stop bragging!” Valeria woke up when she heard the noises outside. She got up immediately and walked out, saying, “You just want the whole world to know that you can differentiate them!”
“Valeria, you’re up!” Braelynn smiled when she saw her.
“Braelynn, when did you come back?”
“Last night. I wanted to see you and the two babies last night, but it was too late. Brother was afraid that I would disturb your rest, so I came today instead.”
“I sleep everyday so I’m not tired, okay!” Valeria glanced at William then turned back to Braelynn. “Both Richard and Helen are back, right?”
“Yeah!” Braelynn nodded.
“Is Helen all right?” Valeria asked again.
“She is fine! Don’t worry, Valeria.”
“I have to see Helen!” Valeria sighed and looked at William. “Why don’t we go to see her later?”
“Nah, Helen said seeing you is like seeing Abbie. It’s gonna hurt her even more, so you’d better don’t go.” William refused.
Valeria was a little triggered and said, “So does that mean I can’t see Helen ever again?”
“I don’t mean that, I just mean for now.” William explained and said, “You’re recovering now, and it’s best if you don’t get too emotional. Helen cares about your health as well, and she doesn’t want you to be affected too much, or else she’d be here to see you already!”
“I don’t care. I have to go to see Helen! Although Abbie’s body is yet to be found, there must be a funeral, right? The Clark family should have a tomb ready for her at the cemetery. I’m Abbie’s best friend, so I have to see her for the last time!”
William saw how persistent Valeria was and stayed silent for a while. Valeria and Abbie’s relationship was definitely very strong, so if Valeria was not allowed to send her best friend off for the last time, she was going to regret it for the rest of her life.
William did not want that to happen, so he sighed. “Alright. I will inform the Clark family, so please calm down now. I will bring you along with me.”
William then called Richard and said. “Valeria insisted on sending Abbie off. I’ll take her to the cenotaph later then.”
Richard sighed and replied, “What’s the point of this? It’s just gonna make her even more upset and it will affect her health. Maybe you guys can come in the near future?”
“She is insisting, and I can’t stop her.” William was helpless too.
Richard then said, “Fine, then. You can bring Valeria here at two o’clock.”
After liaising with Richard, William then turned back to Valeria and said, “Richard says to go in the afternoon, so we can go have lunch before heading there. For now, go have breakfast first.”
Valeria nodded. The lady served breakfast but Valeria only took a few bites as she did not have any appetite.
William frowned. “Why are you not eating anymore?”
“I’m full.”
“You just ate a few bites! If you don’t finish the food here, I won’t bring you with me later.”
“That’s unfair!” Valeria was not happy.
“I’m being very rational here. It’s your body and nobody is forced to care, but you’re my wife. You’re mine, and if you’re not gonna care for your own health, I have to.”
Braelynn was also trying to persuade her. “Valeria, listen to bro. We’re gonna worry if you behave this way.”
Valeria picked up the bowl again and ate the breakfast slowly. Cade, on the other hand, started to cry due to hunger. Santhos started to sob as well when he heard his brother crying.
“Cade is hungry! Food will be ready soon!” The maid went on to prepare milk, while Braelynn gave a helping hand as well. Seeing that the lady was feeding Cade milk, she wanted to try too. “Can I try feeding them?”
“Miss, you’re not familiar with all these yet. Let me do it.” The maid refused.
“Let me me try, please? I swear I’ll be careful!” Braelynn begged.
“Let Braelynn have a try then!” William looked at Braelynn and smiled as he instructed the lady. She was worried and said, “I’m afraid she won’t feed Cade properly.”
“It’s okay, just a try. Braelynn is very careful so nothing will happen.”
It wasn’t until William said that that that the lady handed the baby bottle to Braelynn. Braelynn held it Cade her arms and started feeding the baby. Seeing how he was drinking hungrily, Braelynn was very happy. “Why are you so cute? Aw, I love you so much!”
When Fandrey and Deborah walked to the door, they heard Braelynn’s laughter. Fandrey’s eyes were filled with surprise. He took a few quick steps into the ward. “Braelynn, you’re back?”
Hearing the voice, Braelynn looked up at Fandrey. The smile on her face faded a little, and her voice was very cold too. “Nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd.”
When Fandrey saw his granddaughter, he was overjoyed. “When did you arrive in B City?”
“Last night!” Braelynn was still indifferent when she replied.
Fandrey didn’t care about his granddaughter’s attitude and smiled happily. Deborah was unhappy when she saw Braelynn’s attitude.
Deborah didn’t know that Braelynn was her biological granddaughter. Seeing her cold attitude, she thought that Braelynn was being arrogant, so she gave Braelynn a cold look.
Braelynn could sense Deborah’s gaze. She then glanced at Deborah, and continued to feed Cade.
Fandrey also noticed his wife looking at Braelynn with a bitter look.
He hadn’t had time to tell Deborah about Braelynn’s background, and this wasn’t the time to talk about her identity. Why was Deborah glaring at Braelynn like this?
Braelynn was not close to them to begin with, so she definitely felt uncomfortable when Deborah glared at her. She would definitely hate Deborah, and at that time, it would not be easy for Deborah to build a good relationship with Braelynn.
Moreover, Braelynn might hate him because of Deborah’s attitude. Then, things would be difficult from there.
Fandrey thought to himself. Then, he heard the sound of hurried footsteps coming from outside. Wayne then walked in with a smile.
Wayne held an exquisite gift bag in his hand, followed by Azalea, who was holding flowers.
