In the room upstairs, Michael lay on his back as he stared at the ceiling in a daze.
When he came in and heard the conversation between Michael and Meadow just now, he knew that the Floyd family had lost their patience for Azalea, the fake daughter.
Meadow was too stupid so she would not have doubted Azalea’s identity. However, Wayne was different. He was a cunning man. Judging by his reaction, he should have noticed that something was wrong.
He had to complete his plan as soon as possible. At the thought of this, he took out his mobile phone from the bedside table and edited a message for William. “I need a favor!”
The message was not sent, and WhatsApp showed that William was not his contact. Michael was stunned by this turn of events.
Did William blacklist him?
William wouldn’t have blacklisted him. Valeria had to be the one who did this.
Valeria hated him to the core because of what happened to Abbie!
Michael’s heart ached at the thought of Abbie. During this time, he feigned indifference, but his heart was bleeding in pain all the time.
“I’m sorry, Abbie!
I’m really sorry! Because the person who harmed you has my biological mother, I can’t even avenge you. I’m so useless!
I can only disgust them in such a pathetic way and disgust myself at the same time!
I’m a coward in everyone’s eyes. I don’t deserve to be forgiven!

Michael took a few deep breaths before he sent a message to Marcus. “Your boss has blacklisted me on WhatsApp. Can you tell me something for me?”
“Michael, don’t make things difficult for me, please! I don’t dare to do so. I have to continue to work in the Wolf Group. Don’t make me lose my job.”
“What do you mean by that?”
Marcus didn’t hide the truth as he said frankly. “Our boss’s wife has spoken. She wants the boss to break ties with you completely. If he doesn’t listen to her, she will take her two sons home and leave him to fend for himself. He doesn’t dare to disobey her. If you need a favor, go to someone else!”
Michael let out a bitter smile. “Is she so cruel?”
“What else? If I were her, I would be more ruthless! Do you know what Abbie is to her? They are like sisters bonded by blood! It’s not your fault that Miss Clark got into trouble, but you got together with that disgusting woman just moments after Abbie’s death. You even showed off your love in public. If I were Valeria, I would definitely slap you to death! Michael, you are truly a scum!”
A bitter smile appeared across Michael’s face. “Then you might be disappointed!”
“What do you mean by that?”
“I’m going to marry Azalea soon.”
“Are you nuts?” Marcus sent a string of symbols over in shock.
“I’m pretty sane!”
“Michael, you need to think it through! It’s not only you who are disgusted that you have to marry Azalea. You disgust everyone as well! You won’t do this if you have even a trace of feelings for Miss Clark! Let me tell you, Miss Clark will never forgive you! She will turn in her grave!”
Michael’s eyes turn misty at the words “turn in her grave”. “Abbie, if I marry Azalea, will you really turn in your grave?
Will you hate me?”
Marcus felt that Michael was out of his mind. How could he even think of marrying Azalea? This was horrifying.
He really didn’t want to meddle in Michael’s affairs, but he still felt that it was not a good idea for Michael to do so after pondering for a while. William was the only one who could dissuade Michael.
Hence, Marcus called William and said, “Mr. Howard, Michael has finally lost it. He is going to marry Azalea.”
“I know,” William’s reply was calm.
“Why didn’t you talk him out of it? Isn’t this horrible? At this critical moment, does he have a death wish?”
“He is out of his mind!” William let out a sigh. “It’s not strange for someone who has lost his loved one to do anything!”
“But he can’t disgust everyone else like this, can he? I think Mr. Richard will kill him for marrying Azalea!”
William frowned before he thought for a moment. “Tell Michael that his reputation will be tainted if he really marries Azalea. He’ll be considered a remarried man. Abbie is naive and innocent. She doesn’t like people who remarry. If he marries Azalea, he won’t have the chance to marry Abbie in this life or his next life!”
Marcus agreed to do so. “Mr. Howard, I don’t think it’s useful to say that to him, right?”
“Whether it’s useful or not, just do it.”
Marcus sent a message to Michael instantly. “You must have never truly loved Miss Clark, right? If you loved her, how could you marry Azalea? I feel really sorry for Miss Clark!”
“Whether I love her or not has nothing to do with you. Don’t talk nonsense if you aren’t helping me!”
“Is this nonsense? Did I hit a sore point? Michael, the two people who really love each other can’t tolerate insults to their love. If you marry Azalea, your marriage register will have another woman’s name on it. Even if you die, you will still be Azalea’s husband, so it’s literally till death do you part. Will you have the nerve to meet Miss Clark when you die someday? No, Miss Clark won’t even wish to see you! To her, you are a disloyal person. Michael stared at the message sent by Marcus and read it out several times. His eyes were extremely gloomy.
If he didn’t marry Azalea, how could he disgust Michael and Meadow? Meadow was his mother while Michael was his grandfather. He couldn’t hurt them, so disgusting them was the only option.
Marrying Azalea and exposing her identity would make Meadow extremely regretful and suffer a fate worse than death, wouldn’t it? It was the same for Wayne. William only wanted to disgust them. However, if he really married Azalea, he would be disloyal. No matter whether he consummate the marriage or not, he would still be Azalea’s husband. Would Abbie forgive him by then?
Michael turned over and sat up as he paced back and forth in the room. He didn’t want Abbie to be upset so the marriage with Azalea had to be modified in some way.
After pacing around the room for a while, he picked up his mobile phone and dialed a number. “Book a private room for me at Climax Space. I’ll take someone there tonight!”
After calling to book a private room, he got up and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
Half an hour later, he changed his clothes and exited the bedroom. The bedroom door next to him swung open as well at the sound of his door. Azalea walked outside with a sweet smile. “Michael! Are you heading out?”
“Yes! I’m going to have fun at Climax Space tonight.” Surprisingly, Michael told Azalea about his plans.
“Have fun, huh? Is it with your friends? Can I go with you?” Azalea asked cautiously.
“Would you like to go?”
Azalea nodded fervently. From the start, she had never known Michael’s friends. Now that Abbie was gone, she would stay by Michael’s side most of the time with the help of Meadow. She should definitely familiarize herself with his connections.
He scrutinized her properly. “If you want to come, dress up. We’ll leave at seven.”
Azalea was pleasantly surprised so she quickly entered her room to get dressed.
She failed to notice the mockery and teasing look in Michael’s eyes. Tonight would be a night full of pleasant surprises indeed.
