“Oh, you know about the Cerulean Sea?” William took out the ring and put it on Valeria’s finger with a smile.
“Of course! Back then, it was auctioned off by a mysterious buyer at the price of 90 million dollars in Switzerland. I’ve also discussed this matter with Abbie, but I didn’t expect the buyer to be you. Did you buy this jewel to make it into a ring?”
“It could be made into anything and I didn’t consider turning it into a ring when I bought it. I just liked it, but I wanted to place the jewel on the ring after marrying you. I want to give you the most beautiful things in the world!”
Valeria felt touched when she heard William’s words. It was so extravagant for him to give her such a valuable ring that contained such an expensive diamond.
Valeria took a nap in the presidential suite after she ate a scrumptious meal that was arranged by William while she wore the ring. He then got up and went to the company after he watched her rest.
He went straight to the parking lot from the private elevator in the presidential suite. Then, he immediately saw Evelyn standing in front of him with a smile on her face when the doors opened.
“William, I’ve been waiting for you here for a long time.”
William frowned when he saw Evelyn and he didn’t bother hiding his impatience. However, Evelyn didn’t care at all. “William, can we talk?”
“I don’t have time!”
“I won’t take too much of your time. Ten minutes is enough!”
“Sorry, I can’t do that. Just tell me what you have to say right now because I’m in a hurry!”
The smile on Evelyn’s face faded. “William, do you still remember what happened in Switzerland?”
“I don’t! I would never spend any effort to remember such insignificant matters because it’s a waste of my time.”
“How can you be so forgetful? You left something with me that night,” reminded Evelyn.
William looked at Evelyn as if she had lost her mind “Miss Gurney, you should see a doctor! Time’s up, so I have to leave now!”
William immediately turned away from Evelyn and walked away after he say that. She felt a sense of indignance. “William, do you really have to be so heartless?”
William ignored Evelyn and strode straight to his car. When Bobby saw William, he opened the car door immediately and drove out of the parking lot.
Evelyn stood at the door of the elevator with a pale face. She had been waiting here for two hours just to talk to William, but he didn’t care about her.
How could he be so heartless?
Bobby looked at William through the rearview mirror when they exited the parking lot. “Sir, what did Evelyn say to you?”
“She said some strange things and asked me if I still remember what happened in Switzerland. She also said that I left something with her.” William found it ridiculous. “I really don’t know what she’s talking about!”
“Isn’t it too strange? Evelyn doesn’t look like a simple fool, so what is she trying to do?” Bobby was also in disbelief.
“I don’t know! I’ve never paid attention to irrelevant people, nor do I have the effort to think about her. Anyway, I won’t have any contact with her.”
Bobby always felt that Evelyn’s behaviour was weird. “Sir, Evelyn’s reputation is not bad and she doesn’t seem like she’s lost her mind. Is there any reason why she keeps pestering you like this?”
“Do you think there’s something going on?” William felt uncomfortable when he thought of how Evelyn looked at him with a straight face.
“I can’t figure it out, but I don’t think this matter is that simple. It’s better for us to keep an eye on Evelyn.”
“Let’s talk about it later!”
Meanwhile, in the Floyd family. Azalea was standing against a wall with her hips and stomach engaged while she stared at the clock that was opposite her.
Her legs were completely numb. How could only five minutes have passed?
Her teacher said that this was the most effective way to train her posture and she said that all top models were trained like this. Azalea would have to stand like this for half an hour first and the teacher would slowly increase the time after she got used to it.
What kind of stupid exercise was this? Every second seemed like an hour and she doubted that she would be able to walk after half an hour!
Azalea gritted her teeth as she tried to hold on. Another five minutes passed and the pain in her legs was becoming so unbearable that she wanted to cry.
Azalea bent her legs slightly. Her teacher, who had been sitting in front of her, raised his hand and directly hit her thighs.
It wasn’t a light knock, but she had to endure a real beating. It was so painful that Azalea screamed through her teeth.
Her teacher was a middle-aged lady that wore pair of black-rimmed glasses. Azalea was hit heavily again. “How can a daughter of a rich family like you scream like that?”
Azalea stood up straight while her sweat kept dripping down after she was beaten twice in a row. This was not a learning experience at all, it was pure suffering!
She finally endured half an hour and her legs were so stiff that she couldn’t move. She wanted to sit down, but she was hit again because her walking posture was wrong. She wanted to scream in pain, but she resisted it when she thought that she would be beaten again.
Her lessons were complete hell. During the span of two hours, Azalea was beaten more than ten times.
The teacher wrote down some notes before she left and made Azalea recite them. She would check Azalea’s progress again tomorrow.
Azalea took off her clothes and looked at the bruises on her skin when the teacher left. She gritted her teeth.
She had some makeup skills, so she deliberately made the scars on her body look more severe and she began to cry.
Deborah went upstairs to check on Azalea when she heard her crying. She was shocked when she saw the scars on Azalea’s body. “This… this was all caused by the teacher? Isn’t this too harsh?”
Deborah’s heart ached and she asked the servants to apply some ointment on Azalea’s bruises. She felt that the teacher had to be fired when she saw Azalea crying miserably. However, Valeria was the one who had hired this teacher, so Deborah couldn’t bring herself to confront Valeria about this.
Deborah made a call to discuss it with Fandrey. “Dear, Azalea’s etiquette teacher is too strict. She’s covered in wounds!”
“Don’t you know that strict teachers will have brilliant disciples?” Fandrey replied.
“That’s true, but she’s too cruel. I don’t remember my teacher beating me like this in the past.”
“How can you compare? You started learning etiquette when you were a child, but Azalea is about 20 years old. She’s definitely not as easy to teach as a child. She wouldn’t be able to change her habits if the teacher isn’t strict enough.”
Deborah couldn’t refute Fandrey’s words, so she had to give up. Azalea, who was standing by the side, heard everything clearly and she knew that her thoughts of firing the teacher were in vain.
She lay in bed after she applied the ointment in exhaustion. She always felt that it was a mistake to come to the Floyd family.
She had to find a way to save herself and the only person who could do that was Meadow. Azalea sent a message, “Aunt Meadow, hurry up and think of a way to save me!”
