Chapter 1294 Agreement

Ornard was so shocked that his jaw dropped. “When did this happen?”
“Just now!” Veronica’s voice was trembling because of anger. Since Callum returned to the country, she had never seen him and he had never called her.
Veronica called him several times to ask about his health, but Callum’s attitude was always lukewarm. This time, it was unbelievable that Callum took the initiative to call Veronica.
Veronica answered the phone gently and she acted as demure as she usually did. However, Callum said before she could speak, “Let’s get a divorce!”
Veronica was stunned. “What… Why?”
“Have you forgotten that this was our original agreement? I’ll ask your lawyer to sign the divorce papers.” Callum’s voice was so cold that Veronica shivered.
She thought that she had enough time to teach Emily a lesson and kill her. Besides, she had agreed to a divorce with Callum because she didn’t think that Emily would not get back together with him. However, Callum had given her an ultimatum and Veronica didn’t know what to say for a moment.
Callum didn’t care about her thoughts at all. “I’ll ask the lawyer to send you the divorce papers. Just wait.”
He hung up the phone right after that. Veronica felt a chill down her spine and she immediately called Ornard.
Veronica was so angry that her words were incoherent. “Callum must have divorced me because of that bitch, Emily… That must be it! I asked you to kill Emily to avoid future troubles, but you refused. Now that this has happened… You’d better tell me what to do now.”
Ornard was irritated and he became even more frustrated when he heard Veronica’s hoarse voice. “This should be Callum’s own decision. Why don’t you call his parents? I don’t believe that they’ll agree to this divorce.”
“That’s it? Is there no other way?” Veronica asked.
“What can I do now?”
“Why don’t you arrange for someone to kill that Emily? Callum won’t divorce me as long as that bitch dies.”
Veronica didn’t want to have a divorce. If Ornard hadn’t married Paisley and had an illegitimate child with Aurora, she would have happily gone back to him.
But Veronica knew very well that Ornard would not be loyal to her because she was old. She was infertile and she didn’t have any children. Without Ornard’s affection, she had a clear understanding of what would happen to her if she got a divorce.
She couldn’t lose the protection of the Floyd family. The only reason why Ornard didn’t reveal his true colours to her was because of the Floyd family.
Killing Emily was the only way out because Callum would not divorce her if Emily was gone.
Ornard was in a bad mood, so he sneered after hearing Veronica’s words, “Do you think I have control of everything so you can do whatever you want? Let me tell you, I can’t do anything to Emily.”
“Then what should we do? Should we just stand by and watch?”
“I told you to call Deborah and Fandrey to put pressure on Callum. This is the only way out.”
Ornard didn’t care about this matter, so Veronica had no choice but to call Deborah. She cried after the phone was connected, “Mom, Callum wants to divorce me!”
Deborah nodded and said, “Callum has already told me about this.”
Deborah’s attitude was cold and she was not surprised at all. She had obviously agreed to Callum’s divorce, so Veronica’s heart sank and she cried, “I don’t want to divorce. Mom, please help me persuade him!”
“How can I help you? Isn’t this the agreement between you and Callum?” Deborah retorted coldly.
“Since you and Callum have made a deal, then you should agree to it! I actually sympathize with you very much as a woman, but I don’t understand why you signed such a contract with Callum at that time to decline all the assets from the Floyd family. If you hadn’t done that, he would still pay you a large amount of money. But everything has to be done according to the law since the contract has been sighed and we can’t do anything about it. I’m afraid that you can’t even get a penny if you get divorced.”
Veronica had offered to sign a contract with Callum to show him that she really married him because of love.
Veronica and Ornard had managed to fool Callum, Fandrey, and Deborah all these years. Veronica knew very well that the Floyd family were not ruthless people, so she thought she was very smart and did not take the contract seriously at all. Her mind was buzzing when she heard Deborah mention this.
Would she really not get anything after she divorced Callum?
Deborah hung up right after she made Veronica’s heart drop while Fandrey smiled as he sat opposite her, “Are you happy?”
“Of course! I can finally vent my anger! She’s so vicious and shameless. Does she still treat us as fools after she caused so much harm to us? How can she still hope that we can help her convince Callum? Has she lost her mind?”
“She’s not stupid, but it’s just that she has no choice but to do this! We were fooled by her because we were kind and we wanted to compensate her. She naturally has nothing to use against us because we’ve given up on treating her well!”
Deborah nodded. “What should we do next? Do we have to deal with her?”
Fandrey smiled and shook his head. “No! It’s up to Veronica now! The Floyd family will not give her any chance, so she has to find her own way. The only person she can find is Ornard. He only treated her well because he wanted to use her, but she is no longer now. They’ll definitely end up destroying each other this time.”
“Then let’s just wait and see!”
“Yes!”
It was clear that the Floyd family would never help her again, so Veronica was really anxious.
Ornard wasn’t going to help her and the Floyd family was also so indifferent. It seemed that her fate now was impossible to change and her future seemed bleak.
She had put in so much effort to set up her scheme, but she was kicked out of the house with nothing. How could she live a good life when she went back to the Laban family?
She wasn’t Ornard’s biological sister, and he was so vicious that he wouldn’t tolerate her. She had no value and Ornard would definitely get rid of her because she knew so many secrets.
What should she do?
Veronica grabbed the phone and paced around in the house. She wanted to save herself and she wanted to live!
What the hell should she do?
If Ornard didn’t help her, she couldn’t kill Emily or make Callum change his mind. The only thing she could do was to deal with Ornard.
Everything that happened to her was caused by Ornard, so he had to be responsible for her.
It was impossible for him to treat her the same way as before. After all, he already had Aurora and a son. Since that was the case, she would destroy all of Ornard’s hopes and get rid of his illegitimate child!
