The Southern Bay was the most expensive property in the country and it would cost at least hundreds of millions. Braelynn was stunned and immediately refused. “I have a place to live and I don’t need a house.”
“This is something I wanted to do for you. You have been wronged for so many years and I feel very guilty because of that. I just want to give you a house, so can you please accept it?”
“No! I don’t want your house!” Braelynn refused firmly. “I don’t feel wronged at all and I’m doing very well. I don’t need anyone to compensate me!”
Braelynn regarded him as an outsider and she refused to accept his gift. Fandrey felt extremely uncomfortable, but he understood Braelynn. After all, he had never cared about Braelynn before and he had never played any role in her entire life. He was like a complete stranger to Braelynn.
He and Deborah were the ones that forced Callum and Emily to break up and caused this mess to happen.
The only thing Fandrey could do now was apologize. “Braelynn, I’m sorry! It’s all our fault for forcing your parents to be apart. Your parents were right and we were wrong because we caused this entire mess. I’ll apologize to you right now! I’m sorry!”
“You don’t have to apologize! You didn’t do anything wrong and I have never hated you. I am very satisfied with my current life. I don’t need anyone to give me a new identity or presents!”
“But I want to compensate you. You are the only descendant of the Floyd family and my only granddaughter. It was my fault at that time and I admit my mistakes. I won’t force you to accept me, I just wanted you to give me a chance to let me take care of you. Even if you are so strong that you don’t need my protection, you will always be my granddaughter in my heart. I have the responsibility to care about you and protect you until the day I die.”
Fandrey’s emotional words made Braelynn silent. When he saw Braelynn lower her head and stay silent, he reached out and took her hand. “I know that you’re very forgiving and you’ll give me a chance, right? I will accompany you to visit the house after dinner and I will try to keep a low profile as much as possible. No one will recognize you and it will not cause trouble for you or William. What do you think?”
“All right! I have something to do, so I can’t stay for long.” Braelynn’s tone was stiff, but it was obvious that she didn’t resist Fandrey anymore.
Fandrey heaved a sigh of relief. After the waiter brought them lunch, Fandrey happily picked up food for Braelynn. “Eat more. Look at how thin you are. In the future, I’ll definitely eat with you more often and fatten you up.”
“Who would want to be fat? Don’t you know how ugly I’ll look when I’m fat?” Braelynn sounded annoyed.
“You’ll still be beautiful even if you’re fat. You’re the most beautiful girl that I have ever seen.” Fandrey praised.
“Humph! How can I be better-looking than Valeria? What will she think if she hears your words now?”
“Both of you are equally beautiful!” Fandrey said with a smile.
The atmosphere was much more relaxed than before. Although Braelynn still kept a straight face and she sounded quite annoyed, Fandrey could clearly see the change in her behaviour. She wasn’t so cold when she talked to him and she even agreed to visit the house together. This was already a huge leap.
Braelynn followed Fandrey’s car from the back after lunch and they drove towards the Southern Bay.
Fandrey had booked a villa with a garden swimming pool for Braelynn. It was the largest and most expensive villa in the southern bay.
The house was designed by a renowned interior designer and a well-known construction company handled the renovation. Fandrey had started to plan all this for Braelynn since he knew that she was his granddaughter.
He was very satisfied with the location and design of this house. He had seen it several times, so he knew the layout of the house like the back of his hand. He didn’t need to take anyone with him because he could explain everything himself.
Fandrey led Braelynn to see the whole house. They toured the kitchen and the living room, and even walked around the garden and swimming pool outside.
Braelynn naturally had nothing to say about the house since it was worth a hundred million dollars.
Fandrey gave the door card of the villa to Braelynn. He also asked Braelynn to modify the password and gave all the property ownership certificates to her.
Braelynn felt a heavy weight in her hands when she held somthing so valuable.
Fandrey patted her on the shoulder and said lovingly, “You can move in when you have some free time in the next few days. When the time comes, I’ll help you as well.”
“I haven’t told my dad yet, so there’s no rush for me to move.”
“I’ll talk to Lamont about it.”
“My dad has a bad temper, so you’d better not meet him. I’ll talk to him.” Lamont had a bad temper and Braelynn was afraid that he would have a conflict with Fandrey.
Fandrey was clear about Braelynn’s thoughts. “Don’t worry, I won’t have a conflict with him. Lamont has raised you for more than 20 years and he’s basically your real father. Lamont is someone we owe a huge favour to, so I will tell him about this. I don’t mind if he vents his anger on me and I promise you that I will never say anything bad to him.”
Even if Lamont’s temper wasn’t that bad, Braelynn was worried that he would do something more extreme. She tactfully reminded Fandrey, “You’d better take my cousin with you. My dad won’t be too hard on you with him around.”
Fandrey was flattered. “Okay! I’ll listen to you!”
Braelynn returned to the company after they checked out the house while Fandrey went to see William. Fandrey was in a good mood and he had a wide smile on his face when he saw that William. “William, Braelynn accepted the house I bought! I’m so happy!”
“This is a good thing!” William smiled and personally poured tea for Fandrey. “Grandpa, have some tea!”
“Okay!” Fandrey picked up the cup and gulped the tea down. “William, I want to see Lamont in the afternoon.”
“Okay, I’ll arrange it.” William agreed and immediately called Lamont. “Are you free in the afternoon? Let’s meet if you have time.”
“Yes! Is there anything I can do for you?” Lamont asked.
“Yes, something has happened. Let’s talk about it when we meet and I’ll ask Marcus to send you the location later.”
William looked at Fandrey and asked when he hung up, “Grandpa, is that impostor starting to create her stories?”
“Yes. She thinks she’s very smart, so she asked Madelyn to persuade Emily to inform Callum. He has gone to the hospital and played along with her act, but I guess it’s time for him to come back now.”
“So soon? I don’t know how he will deal with this matter. I have a suggestion. Why don’t you drive that impostor out of the Floyd family with the excuse that she is a disgrace because she’s pregnant now? Grandpa, what do you think?”
Fandrey nodded immediately after he heard that. “Okay! That’s a good idea. I’ll inform Callum right away.”
