William arrived at the restaurant at six o’clock in the evening. He sat in the private room for ten minutes before Fandrey opened the door and came in with Sammuel.
“Grandpa! Have a seat!” William stood up and pulled out a chair. Fandrey sat down with a smile. “You’ve been waiting for a long time, haven’t you?”
“Not long, I’ve just arrived as well. Grandpa, what would you like to eat? Why don’t we eat some of their speciality dishes?”
“There’s no need. There are only two of us today and we can’t eat that much. Let’s just order two dishes. I’m not meeting you to have dinner, but I need to talk to you about something. Let’s eat first and talk after dinner.”
Fandrey was so straightforward, so William didn’t force him and ordered the waiter to prepare a few specialty dishes.
William served Fandrey some of the dishes and soup during the meal, but the main aim for their meeting wasn’t to eat.
The waiter brought them a pot of good tea after they quickly finished their dinner. William smiled and said, “This is the best tea they have. Grandpa, how does it taste?”
Fandrey took a sip. “Well, it’s not bad!”
The two of them chatted for a while before Fandrey put down his teacup. “William, you’re looking for me today because you have something to tell me, right?”
“Yes, I do have something important to tell you.” William nodded. “Grandpa, I came here today to talk about Angel.”
“Hm? Tell me!”
“Here’s the thing. I heard a rumour some time ago about uncle and Emily. It’s said that Emily’s child was swapped at birth in the hospital and Angel is not a child of the Floyd family.”
“This… how could there be such a rumor? This is impossible! William, this rumour must be fake!” Fandrey’s expression changed instantly and he immediately denied it.
William immediately served another cup of tea when he saw that Fandrey was agitated. “Have a cup of tea and calm yourself down. I’ll tell you about the story slowly!”
Fandrey didn’t drink his tea and explained agitatedly, “William, I don’t know where you heard this rumour, but I personally asked someone to deal with Angel’s matters. I was worried that someone would take advantage of it and swap her with another baby at birth, so I asked Sammuel to do a DNA test when I took her back home. Angel is your uncle’s child and she’s a descendent of the Floyd family.”
“Grandpa, don’t get heated up! Drink some tea and listen to me.” William handed the teacup to Fandrey.
Fandrey shook his head. “I’m fine. William, what’s going on? Did you verify whether the rumours were true?”
“Yes! I asked someone to take Emily’s and Angel’s samples and did a DNA test. As a result, Angel is not related to Emily at all. I didn’t believe in the result, so I asked someone to do a DNA test between uncle and Angel again. However, Angel is not related to him either.”
“How could this be? What happened?” Fandrey suddenly stood up and sat down dejectedly. He was very clear about William’s ability. Since William had come to tell him this, this matter was definitely not made up.
It was a huge blow to Fandrey to know that Angel wasn’t his real grandchild. After all, he and Deborah had been taking care of her ever since she was taken back to the Floyd family.
Callum had only one daughter, so they gave all of their love and attention to Angel.
Although Fandrey later found that Angel wasn’t capable at all, he did not doubt her identity. He only thought that she ended up like this because they had spoilt her too much. He even assumed that Veronica was the one who had guided her to the wrong path.
How could Fandrey accept that Angel was not a member of the Floyd family after all?
Even Fandrey couldn’t accept it, let alone Deborah.
Fandrey murmured, “What should we do now? How can your grandmother bear it if she knows about this? She raised another person’s child for more than 20 years… William, I’m worried about your grandma…”
“Grandpa, I know what you’re worried about. To be honest, I’ve known about this for a period of time but I didn’t know how to tell you. I was worried that it would agitate you, so I kept it to myself until now.”
Fandrey took a deep breath to calm himself down. Although he was overwhelmed, he had experienced all sorts of situations before and he knew that William’s words had a hidden meaning. “Did something happen for you to tell me about Angel?”
William nodded. “Yes! I found out Angel’s real identity.”
William took out a calming pill because he was afraid that Fandrey wouldn’t be able to bear it and said, “Grandpa, take this pill first and listen to me.”
Fandrey didn’t take the pill and said, “I’m fine, I have to accept the reality either ways. Tell me, who is Angel’s parents? Who exchanged her for Callum’s daughter?”
“Angel is Ornard’s daughter. I’ve done a DNA test and he was the one who replaced Uncle’s child.”
“It turns out to be Ornard, that vicious bastard! I should have thought of it! No wonder he and Veronica don’t hate Angel at all. I thought they were kind-hearted, but it turns out that it’s not like this at all! Ornard is… he wants to steal our assets, right?”
“Yes! That should be it.” William nodded.
“Ornard is too vicious! I still treated him well and I felt sorry for Veronica because Callum dislikes her. I’ve been complaining to your grandma about how sorry I feel for her. I also intend to give her five lots of shares of the Floyd family. How foolish can I be? How can Ornard be so heartless?!”
Fandrey was so angry that he gasped. “I felt sorry for the Laban family and I even helped him when he was in trouble. He has achieved so much because he has always been supported by the Floyd family. Not only is he ungrateful, but he even plotted against the Floyd family. He’s heartless!”
Fandrey’s anger was understandable. “Grandpa, Ornard isn’t worth your anger. You’re letting him win if you get angry because of him. Now isn’t a time for us to act on our anger, we have to find a way to get revenge.”
“You’re right. I can’t be angry now because this would only make him happy and I would gain nothing from this. I won’t get angry!”
Fandrey took a few sips of tea and tried his best to calm his anger. He was usually good at controlling his emotions, but he couldn’t control himself today.
Fandrey thought of his real granddaughter after he calmed down. “William, that bastard replaced my granddaughter with someone else and he definitely didn’t intend to keep her alive. Has my poor granddaughter been killed long ago?”
“Grandpa, my cousin is still alive!”
