Chapter 1213 Before Punishing Someone Consider The Master First

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

It was enough that she got a scolding from Angel, but who was Madelyn, a servant, to scold her too? Paisley was infuriated, and she couldn’t stand both Angel and Madelyn. She had a burst of courage and slapped Madelyn in the face.
With a slap sound, Madelyn was hit on the face hard. She subconsciously glanced at Angel.
Angel was also looking at Madelyn. “Before punishing someone, you must consider who is her master first. Since Ms. Anthony thinks so highly of you, show her what you’ve got. I’ll take responsibility if anything happens.”
Madelyn understood what she meant and immediately grabbed Paisley and attacked her. The well-pampered Paisley was no match for Madelyn. Paisley’s face was swollen after being slapped a few times, and some of her hair was pulled out by Madelyn. If the passerby in the parking lot had not stopped them, Paisley would have gotten it worse.
After beating up Paisley, Angel and Madelyn left. Paisley sat on the ground with blood at her mouth and resentment in her eyes. “Wait and see, Angel! See how I’ll deal with you!”
The news of Angel’s pregnancy and her beating Paisley up were reported to William at the same time.
Marcus said excitedly, “This is good news. Mr. Howard. Can we carry out the next plan?”
“Yes. Let’s go according to the original plan.” William nodded. “But I can’t believe Angel got Madelyn to be her accomplice in beating up Paisley. How much does she hate Paisley? Isn’t she afraid that Paisley will take revenge on her?”
“Perhaps she think that Paisley would swallow her anger?”
“How stupid!” William sneered. “I guess that Paisley won’t let this go and will take the opportunity to deal with Angel. Angel might be under the protection of the Floyd family, but Madelyn has nowhere to hide. She will surely be sent to jail for at least a few days.”
“Is Paisley so ruthless?” Marcus still didn’t quite believe it.
“Would you like to make a bet?” William looked at him with a smile.
Marcus waved his hand. “Forget it. Luck is not on my side. I tend to lose every bet!”
In the Floyd Group, Sammuel reported to Fandrey, “Mr. Floyd, the bodyguard who is responsible for Ms. Floyd’s safety at the hospital, called and said that Ms. Floyd and Madelyn had secretly left the hospital.”
“What is she up to again?” Fandrey asked in disgust.
“I’m not sure what Ms. Floyd is up to. I heard from the bodyguard that she went out secretly a week ago at night and only came back at noon the next day. And this morning, Ms. Floyd went to the sky garden alone and forbade anyone to follow her. I got the bodyguard to go and check immediately, but there was no trace of her.”
“Is she planning something bad again?” Fandrey frowned. “Why didn’t you tell me about her sneaking out a week ago?”
“I told President Floyd, and he said that she might have gone for a drink because she was in a bad mood. He said to leave her alone for the time being. That was why I didn’t tell you.”
“Callum is becoming more and more unruly. Was he hoping to rely on Angel to win back Emily’s heart? How useless he is for the sake of a woman!”
After Fandrey expressed his disappointment, the door was pushed open. Callum came in and said, “Dad, something happened to Angel.”
“What could have happened? Wasn’t she only sneaking home?” Fandrey was upset.
“It’s not about her sneaking home. The police called and said that Angel and Madelyn had beaten Paisley terribly. Paisley had made a police report.”
“This…” Fandrey was so angry that he didn’t know what to say.
“Dad, Paisley has gotten hold of a video and a witness. If we don’t help her, Angel is likely to be detained. We can’t ignore her!”
Fandrey’s face was sullen for a while before he replied, “I got it. I will handle this matter. You don’t have to worry about it.”
After getting Madelyn to beat Paisley up, Angel asked Madelyn to drive her back to the Floyd family’s mansion.
After getting out of the car, Angel was pushed into the mansion in a wheelchair. Angel thought she would see Deborah in the living room, but Deborah was not there. Angel asked a servant in disappointment, “Where’s my grandma?”
The servant said with a smile, “Madam is in the garden. Why are you back here, Miss?”
“This is my home. I’ll come back whenever I want to!” Angel rebuked the servant and said to Madelyn, “Push me to the garden!”
Madelyn then pushed Angel to the garden. From a distance, she saw Deborah sitting in the gazebo. Angel gathered her emotions and forced herself to shed a few tears.
“Grandma!”
As she heard Angel’s tearful voice, Deborah turned around and was shocked to see Angel sitting in a wheelchair. “What’s the matter? Why are you sitting in a wheelchair?”
“I feel dizzy. I’m uncomfortable whenever I stand up.” Angel answered in tears.
“You’re dizzy? Why don’t you get a doctor to look at you instead? Let the doctor treat you if you are not feeling well. Why would you come home? There’s no doctor here.”
Angel replied in tears, “I miss you, grandma! Why didn’t you visit me when I was injured?”
“Didn’t I arrange for a servant to take care of you? I’m not a doctor, so there’s no point for me to go over.” As Deborah thought of what Angel had done, she didn’t look and sound happy.
Angel thought that Deborah would be anxious if she told her she was ill, and she would immediately arrange for Angel to go to the hospital for a complete body checkup. This way, Deborah would surely find out that Angel was pregnant.
She didn’t expect that Deborah would be indifferent towards her. Angel was unhappy, but she held back her anger. “Grandma, I was bored in the hospital. The smell of disinfectants in the hospital is terrible. I want to recuperate at home.”
“Don’t mess around. You should stay in the hospital if you’re ill. You’d better go back to the hospital and have the doctor give you a good checkup.” Deborah disagreed.”
Angel was unwilling to go back to the hospital. “I don’t want to go back to the hospital! Grandma, the hospital makes me feel weak. I can’t eat or sleep there. The doctor said that I would have depression if I were to go on like this. Grandma, I’m still so young! Let me come home! I’m begging you, please?”
When Deborah saw that Angel’s face was an unhealthy color and there were dark circles under her eyes, Deborah couldn’t bear it anymore. No matter how nasty Angel was, she was the only child of the Floyd family. Deborah couldn’t ignore her.
She sighed and said, “Angel, since you want to come back, you have to listen to my instructions. You can’t act like how you did in the past, understand?”
“Got it! I will listen to you, grandma.” Angel promised.
Deborah saw her promise confidently and emphasized, “I brought you up since you were young because you didn’t have a mother. Grandma spoiled you too much and didn’t pay enough attention to your behavior. I forgot to teach you basic manners and principles. After you return, I will start teaching you these.”
Angel was losing her patience. But with her current situation, she had no right to defend herself. She could only pretend to be obedient. “Okay, I will listen to you, grandma. I will listen to whatever you say.”
Seeing that Angel didn’t refute and even acknowledged her mistakes, Deborah didn’t say anything else. “If so, go back to your room to rest and reflect on your mistakes. When your grandfather and father come home in the evening, take the initiative to apologize nicely. By the way, tell the nanny what you want to eat and let them prepare it for you.”
Angel heaved a sigh of relief and replied obediently, “Okay!”
