Azalea was out of breath from crying upon seeing Emily. Angel said, “She was beaten by Abbie!”
“What? Why would she hit you?” Emily was feeling distressed and swiftly held Azalea. “How vicious was she to go so rough on you?”
Angel replied, “I know right. Azalea would have been beaten to a pulp if I did not arrive in time. Valeria was also at the scene. She brought her men to get into an argument with me when I instructed the bodyguards to stop laying a finger on Abbie. They are absolutely bullies!”
“They have gone too far! This is utterly ridiculous!” Emily trembled with anger and continued speaking, “Azalea, let me bring you to the hospital for a checkup. We should not let them off the hook. We have to make a report to the police!”
“We can’t go to the hospital! We can’t contact the police as well!” Azalea cried as she elaborated further, “It is useless to obtain help from the police as the Clark family is very influential. Besides, it would be game over if the paparazzi snap a few pictures of me heading towards the hospital.”
“She has a point. Abbie had already planned things well in advance judging by how she daringly hit Azalea in public. Besides, Azalea’s photos of making a trip to the hospital would definitely be trending news as she is a celebrity. This would have a negative impact on her. We shall attend her wound by using home medication for now!” Angel was also in the same boat.
Emily was furious and she said, “They are abusing their power to bully others however they please. Is there nothing else that we can do?”
“Well, all hopes are not lost. The reason why they boldly messed with Azalea was that she did not have a trump card. How could they have the guts to lay a finger on Azalea if she happens to be the daughter from a wealthy family?”
Emily had a gloomy look upon hearing Angel’s words. It was impossible for Abbie and Valeria to be bullies if Azalea was the daughter of the Floyd family.
However, Emily felt different when these words came from Angel instead of others. The feeling of hatred was taking over Emily’s emotion for no apparent reason upon staring at Angel, that fake-ass bitch. She did not reply and instead helped Azalea to have a seat on the sofa before proceeding to find some medicine.
Angel also sensed that Emily was feeling moody. She continued to add fuel to the fire as she assumed that Emily was upset at Abbie and Valeria, “Mom, you need to tell my dad about this matter. He would then talk things through with the Clark family. Azalea is nevertheless a contract artist working under the Floyd family. Callum will not sit back and do nothing when Azalea is being beaten like this!”
Emily felt agitated upon hearing how Angel had addressed her. She replied coldly, “Angel, your mother is in the United States. Mind your honorifics!”
The facial expression of Angel immediately changed upon hearing Emily’s words. Her plan to spew nonsense regarding this matter had disappeared within a blink of an eye.
Azalea was slightly worried upon noticing how Emily was mad at Angel. What on earth was Emily thinking judging by her abnormal behavior today?
Abbie was the one who had gone physical towards Azalea. Why was Emily being upset at Angel instead?
Emily was an intimidating person should she lose her temper. She might offend Angel, and Azalea would need to bear the consequences. There was a high possibility for Angel to vent her anger on Azalea which would cause trouble for her. Azalea was feeling worried and immediately cried, “Emily, please make a trip to the hospital to purchase some medication for me!”
Emily nodded and said, “Alright, I will head towards the hospital right now.”
She hurriedly left after picking up her car keys and mobile phone. Azalea swiftly stopped crying after Emily had left. “Angel, you need not take it to heart regarding the things that Emily had said just now. This is how she behaves as she would always go bonkers when she feels panicked.”
It was impossible for Angel to not have hard feelings. She felt neutral towards Emily as her intention of getting close to her was to please Callum. It was as clear as day that Emily did not adore Angel at all. She even yelled at Angel in the presence of Azalea. Angel was starting to feel hatred towards Emily.
However, it was now not the time to despise Emily to the core. Angel suppressed the anger in her heart and said, “It’s fine, I have decided to let bygones be bygones. Let us now discuss the reason why you were beaten. What are you planning to do?”
“I… I don’t know! Abbie bullied me as she had the Clark family as her triumph card alongside the assistance of Valeria. There is no way that I can seek revenge on her. I hate her so much!”
Angel did not feel sympathetic at all despite seeing how Azalea was gnashing her teeth. “The problem cannot be solved even if you despise Abbie to the core. You have to come up with a good reason to convince Emily in seeking my father’s assistance to help you out. Otherwise, you are clearly being bullied for no apparent reason. Do you understand what I am trying to tell you?”
“Yes, I do!” It would be laughable should Azalea have had no idea about that. “Angel, can you lend me a helping hand?”
“I will, that is for sure! However, you need to come clean to me as starters.” Angel stared at Azalea and queried, “Why did Abbie go physical on you?”
“Well… It was not my intention to tell you about it. I shall now spill the beans since you need to know the reason behind it. I have been beaten up by Abbie because of you.”
Angel was puzzled and asked, “Because of me? What do you mean?”
“Didn’t you ask me to invite Helen out for a meal? Abbie knew about this.”
“What happened then?”
“Abbie contacted me and asked me why I brought Helen to have a meetup session with you. She said that you were an evil person and I then got into an argument with her.”
Angel frowned and questioned, “Abbie laid a finger on you just because of this?”
“That is just the root of it. Later on, I have no idea how Abbie get to know that you have feelings towards Richard. She then came to question me once again. She said that you and I are useless pieces of shit. It would be a trap for Richard to become a married couple with you as you are a shameless person who just desperately wants to get married. Abbie said that Richard is a handsome man and has a lot of women lingering around him. It would be a disgrace for him to date an ugly and ruthless woman like you. I snapped back at her and she then went physical on me,” Azalea was spewing nonsense.
No women were a fan of being labeled as unattractive by others and Angel was no exception. She was fuming with anger upon hearing about it.
“Did she really say that?”
“Why would I lie to you? Abbie even said more mean things about you. She said that you are a shameless person and no one would want to date you. You even asked your grandmother to please Helen with the plan of marrying Richard in mind. You should take a good look at yourself in the mirror and see how ridiculous you are. She even said that Richard would never choose you as his partner even if you are the last woman standing on earth.”
Angel was about to explode as Azalea continued to manipulate her. It was already a humiliating thing to persuade Deborah in being friendly with Helen. It was clearly a slap on Angel’s face upon hearing how Azalea had described her actions in such a straightforward manner.
Azalea knew that her plan of making things worse was a success upon seeing how Angel was trembling with anger. “Angel, do calm down! It would do no good for your health should you lose your temper. I know that you are not the kind of person that Abbie had described you as. I would not have told you about it if you did not ask…”
“Stop it! That is enough!” Angel interrupted Azalea and asked, “Do you want to seek revenge?”
“Yes! Of course!”
“Listen to me then!” Angel continued speaking with a gaze full of resentment, “You should initiate my plan when Emily comes back later. You need to try your best and persuade her to talk things through with Abbie and Valeria.”
“But didn’t we just agree that Emily would not seek the police’s help?”
“That was history and we are now at the present. I wanted to put an end to this matter by not blowing it up just now. However, I now have a change of mind. It would be ridiculous for me to let Abbie off the hook judging by how daring she was to cuss me out like that. We need to take advantage of Emily later. Do you understand me?”
“Angel, my aunt would not be met with trouble if she gets hold of Abbie later, would she?”
“Of course not! We need not continue to pretend as things have already turned out this way. You are able to notice that my father’s attitude towards Emily is different, aren’t you? It would be game over for Abbie should she dare to lay a finger on Emily. Callum will never let Abbie off the hook!”
“Alright! I shall act according to your plan then.”
