Valeria and Abbie went out of the apartment. The bodyguards that were arranged by Richard came over immediately. “Abbie, where are you going?”
Abbie replied in a harsh tone as she was in a bad mood, “What business do you guys have when I intend to head out? You guys can always follow me from afar should you wish to do so. Don’t fucking talk nonsense!”
“We have been instructed by Mr. Clark to follow wherever you go. Kindly please get in our car then! It will be much easier for us to protect you!”
“I do not want to hop into your vehicle for today! I shall see what you guys can come up with,” Abbie replied and quickly rushed towards Valeria’s car.
Several bodyguards swiftly halted her and said, “Abbie! Please do not make things difficult for us!”
Valeria, who was behind Abbie, frowned and questioned, “Excuse me? Do you still insist on stopping Abbie to get into my car? Hmm? I shall dare you guys to stop her then.”
The driver of the car and the bodyguard came down as soon as Valeria finished speaking. “Are you guys trying to give Mrs. Howard a hard time?”
Both Richard’s bodyguards and William’s men knew each other. The bodyguards smiled obsequiously and replied, “Absolutely not! Bro, we are not getting in the way of Mrs. Howard. We just want to protect Abbie that’s all!”
“Abbie has an appointment with Mrs. Howard today. You guys should follow behind them instead! Do not disrupt their schedule before things get ugly!” William’s men said in a stern tone.
It would be inappropriate for Richard’s bodyguards to get into an argument with Valeria’s men. They ignited the car engine to catch up with Valeria’s vehicle and swiftly contacted Richard. “Abbie was taken away by Mrs. Howard.”
Richard acknowledged it and replied, “Just let them be then. It will be fine as long as you guys follow behind them. You guys can turn a blind eye towards other matters as long as Abbie does not meet up with Michael.”
The door of the office was pushed open after Richard finished speaking. Helen came in angrily and raised her voice, “Richard! What on earth has happened to Abbie?”
“Hmm? What happened to Abbie?” Richard pretended to be confused.
Helen suppressed her anger and said, “Richard, stop playing dumb! She has already told me about her secret relationship with Michael!”
Richard felt slightly awkward and replied, “Mom, do have a seat. What do you want to drink? I’ll ask them to prepare for you.”
“No thanks! Richard, I came here to ask you about Abbie. You have already known about it long ago, haven’t you? Why did you hide it from me and your father?”
“Well… Mom, it is not my intention to keep it a secret from you guys. I plan to notify you and dad after the matter has been settled accordingly.”
“Is it done then? Did Abbie listen to your advice?”
“Everything is currently under my control and all is fine.”
“What are you talking about? Richard, I have just gone to get ahold of Abbie. She was so persistent in taking Michael’s hand in marriage. Is this your so-called control regarding this matter?” Helen questioned.
“You should be well aware of Abbie’s temper. She has a knack for doing the opposite from what is suggested to her, hasn’t she? The reason why she snapped back at you was that she was being upset. Everything will be fine once I get to advise her later.”
“Are you still intending in lying to me? Do you think that I am a fool? I am telling you, Abbie has just been beaten by me. I would have hit her a few more times if Valeria did not arrive at her apartment.”
“How can you go physical on Abbie? Mom, nothing will change even if you hit her. We have to act rationally!”
“You are right. However, what has happened to Abbie’s leg? Why was Michael being beaten then? You are also against the idea of Abbie and Michael being a married couple, aren’t you?”
Richard nodded and replied, “Yes! It is no doubt that I have been good friends with Michael for many years. However, I do not agree with him taking Abbie’s hand in marriage. His mother is truthfully a pain in the ass. I do not intend to see my precious sister being bullied by Meadow in such a despicable manner.”
“I am on the same team with you as well and Michael is genuinely a great man. I would not be against him dating Abbie if he had no prior history with Azalea. It is unfortunate that he had made his relationship go public with Azalea in the first place. Besides, Meadow, that mother of his is absolutely an ill-mannered person. The Clark family would not endure such bullshit and I do not intend to let your father know about this. We need to come up with an idea to solve this issue. I firmly disagree with the relationship between Abbie and Michael!”
“Alright, I am trying to think of a way as well! Mom, please do not go rough on Abbie. You need to recollect your emotions even if you are pissed off at her. She is your only daughter after all, isn’t she?”
“Okay, I would not do it again! You must, however, come up with a plan to solve this matter. I do not want to be humiliated by Meadow, that disgusting piece of shit!”
The vehicles of both Abbie and Valeria eventually made a halt at the main entrance of Azalea’s apartment. Abbie contacted Azalea and said, “I’m at the entrance of your apartment. You should come down as I need to have a word with you!”
Azalea knew that Abbie was planning to give her a hard time upon receiving the phone call. She was not daring enough to tell Emily about the actual situation. She chose to text Meadow instead, “Meadow, Abbie is here to cause trouble for me. What should I do now?”
“Do not be afraid and just declare war with her publicly. You need to let Emily witness in person regarding how Abbie would bully you!”
“Abbie is an ill-tempered person and she would definitely go rough on me. Should I just stand there like an idiot while she hit me however she pleases?”
“Emily is currently at your apartment, isn’t she? She would not sit back and do anything while Abbie continues to bully you. She will get ahold of Callum upon being pissed at this matter. Rest assured as Callum would definitely not let Abbie off the hook. I am confident that the Clark family will teach Abbie a lesson!”
Meadow was a vicious person. She was really upset upon thinking how she had been humiliated by Richard and Michael was even beaten by him. It was impossible for her to seek revenge from Richard. Hence, she decided to take advantage of Azalea in letting Emily get ahold of Callum. Richard and Callum would eventually become enemies due to the misunderstanding. The Clark family would be in trouble when that time eventually comes.
Azalea felt that Meadow’s idea was somewhat workable. She opened the door and walked out whilst notifying Emily on purpose, “Emily, someone is looking for me. I’ll be back real soon.”
“Who is it?”
“A friend of mine is wanting to have a word with me! There may be a little hiccup along the way. I’ll talk to you later as I need to head down and get ahold of my friend.”
Azalea intentionally phrased her words this way and quickly entered the elevator. Emily frowned upon hearing about it. Azalea’s friend may be giving Azalea a hard time. What trouble would Azalea be met with?
Emily would definitely not turn a blind eye should Azalea be faced with trouble. She followed suit and swiftly left the apartment. The elevator door where Azalea was in had already closed and was making its way down. Emily immediately reached out her hand to press the elevator button. She needed to head down and see what was going on.
Azalea quickly walked out of the elevator. Abbie rubbed her fists and got out of the car upon seeing Azalea exiting the apartment building. Valeria was being halted by Abbie as she was about to hop off the vehicle as well. “It would be better for you to stay put in the car as you are currently pregnant. I shall go and vent my anger alone.”
Abbie had learnt taekwondo before. Valeria knew that it would be a piece of cake for Abbie to teach Azalea a lesson. Besides, the bodyguards of the Clark family were following behind her. Valeria eventually did not get down the car as she had instead remained in the vehicle to observe the performance. Abbie was seen to march quickly towards the direction of Azalea.
Azalea noticed Abbie as well. She instantly knew that Abbie was being beaten upon noticing the visible red mark on her face. Azalea was feeling secretly overjoyed.
She initially thought that Abbie would not go rough on her as Abbie was just here to question her. Azalea needed to as a few random questions before making a move on Abbie. She played dumb by asking, “Abbie, what do you intend to discuss with me?”
“It is regarding something utterly important! I have made a trip here to intentionally beat you up!” Abbie replied as she slapped Azalea’s face without hesitation.
