It was Ornard all this while! Wasn’t he about the same age as Pierre’s father? Pierre was taken aback and questioned, “Are you sure that you’re not lying to me?”
“Of course, Paisley and Ornard teamed up in hopes to get rid of both you and your mother. He was the one who had instructed his men to injure your leg. You should know what would happen in the future if they continue to join forces, shouldn’t you?”
“How could you have so much information with you? Who on earth are you?” Pierre asked in surprise.
“I am a person who hates Paisley to the core. Both she and Hardy used to partner up and bullied me last time. I have been keeping a close eye on her as I intend to seek revenge as payback for my suffering. My target is to assist the person that Paisley hopes to get rid of. Pierre, are you finally satisfied with my reply?”
Pierre was obviously still discontented but he knew that the mysterious man would not reveal too much information to him. This man must be aware of many secrets as he claimed to have paid attention to Paisley for a long time. Pierre swiftly transferred five million of funds over and said, “Can you tell me everything that you know about her then?”
“I shall loosen my lips further as you have stuck to your promise. Paisley and Ornard joined forces to seek revenge as payback against both you and your mother. They are also hoping to gain control of the Anthony family. The both of them are on the same page as Ornard had been targeting the Anthony family for a very long time.”
Pierre was utterly dumbfounded upon reading such a text message. His mother and he would not stand any chance to win the battle should Paisley utilize the capability of Ornard.
Pierre was still rather skeptical as he had not gained full confidence about the mysterious man’s information. He was lost in his thoughts when he soon received a flight ticket of Ornard entering the country. Pierre had also gained footage of Ornard entering the villa alongside his bodyguards.
Pierre was finally convinced upon watching the video. The mysterious man was definitely no ordinary person as he had gained such extensive information. This man had claimed to despise Paisley and had the ability to obtain information that Pierre was unaware of. Pierre would definitely stand a higher chance of winning this battle should he join forces with the mysterious man.
Pierre thought about it and immediately replied, “Why don’t we partner up since you loathe Paisley so much? Let’s cooperate in teaching her a lesson and eventually lead her to failure.”
Silas chuckled upon seeing Pierre’s request of joining forces. He reverted back, “I would welcome this proposal provided that you would agree on my arrangement. You need to follow whatever that I instruct you to do.”
Pierre was never a follower but things were currently different. The mysterious man clearly had more bargaining power than him. Pierre was currently in a tight spot and had limited personnel to be useful to him. The best option that he now had was to rely on the mysterious man to obtain important news.
“Okay, I’ll follow your lead then. Care to tell me about your plan?”
“Of course. Paisley intends to take Ornard’s hand in marriage real soon. She would then place pressure on your father by using her connection with Ornard as an excuse. She is then able to get rid of both you and your mother. Paisley deliberately wants you to know about her relationship with Ornard and is currently waiting for you to become the whistleblower.”
Pierre was feeling anxious upon reading about it. He was feeling lucky to have contacted this person in advance before he would have instructed the bodyguards to disclose such news. “Are you saying that I should leave her alone for now? Should I play dumb about it then?”
“You have to commence your move according to her schedule. She is hoping for you to get lured into her trap. Hence, you should fulfill her request and allow her in getting married to Ornard.”
It was impossible for Pierre to do such a ridiculous thing. “How could I benefit from this matter? My father will take Paisley seriously if the marriage turns out to be a success. Isn’t this an indication that my position in this household would be the same when Hardy was still around?”
“You are not lending a helping hand towards Paisley as you are actually digging a grave for her. She has underestimated your capability and has been treating you like a fool. She will let her guard up should you give up on exposing her relationship with Ornard out of the blue. You need to pretend that you are unaware of her intentions to convince her that you are an idiot. You should only inform your father about her ulterior motives of taking over the Anthony family’s company alongside an outsider after the marriage ceremony had ended. It will then be game over for her at that time. Do you understand what I am trying to say?”
Pierre grasped the rough idea of the plan but he was still feeling worried. “What if my dad insists on believing Paisley instead of me? He is a very materialistic person after all.”
“Well, you are left with no other choices. She will go all-in and eventually take Ornard’s hand in marriage whether you choose to be the whistleblower or not. You would still stand a chance on securing your position if you choose to expose her plan, wouldn’t you?”
Pierre pondered for quite a long time. He finally agreed upon being convinced that he was incapable enough to stand in Paisley’s way for now. “Okay, I’ll listen to you then. How should I go about exposing the relationship between Paisley and Ornard?”
“Didn’t you receive the footage of Paisley and Ornard instructing their men to purchase some medication during midnight to hype up the situation? This video is a rather powerful weapon! Let’s start with baby steps for now. You shall hire someone to write a few articles and follow them around for a few days. I will update you when it is the time for us in getting down to the real deal.”
Paisley deliberately revealed the scandal between Ornard and herself to Pierre’s men. She was hoping for Pierre to expose such a matter to the public.
The day had eventually come to an end. It was a rather peaceful day as there was no action from Pierre at all.
Paisley was now struggling to grasp what was going through Pierre, that idiot’s mind. She dolled herself up and went to meet with Ornard during the evening. However, Ornard did not rush getting into business with her as usual. He had instead brought Paisley to the study room.
Ornard gestured for her to have a seat after closing the door. He struck the conversation with a stern look on his face, “I have something to discuss with you today.”
“Alright, do go ahead!”
“I want to commence a big-scale business in B City and I am currently interested to partner up with you. Are you willing to join the club?”
“Of course I am!” Paisley nodded without hesitation before asking further, “What do you want me to do?”
Ornard was very pleased with her reaction. He decided to come clean since they were already on the same page, “The Floyd family would be participating in a tender activity of a building plan in B City that is worth more than hundreds of billions. I have managed to obtain their bidding price and project development plan.”
“Really?” Paisley had an excited look on her face. She then queried further, “Are you saying that we are able to get rid of the Floyd family and eventually win the bidding contract?”
“You’re absolutely right! However, my identity cannot be exposed to the public. The Floyd family and I are related by marriage. Our relationship would be strained should I show up and steal away their business in such a straightforward manner.”
“You shall leave things to me then. It would be best for me to participate in the bidding activity by using the name of the Anthony family.” Paisley knew what game was Ornard trying to play. She swiftly volunteered as this was a very good opportunity for her.
Paisley was indeed a smart and quick-witted person. It was evidenced that she could be a great partner.
Ornard was feeling much more satisfied with her. “This contract would profit us on a massive scale. Your job scope is to persuade your father in placing some capital into the business. Rest assured as this is just to confuse the Floyd family and William. I would be the major investor of this project whereas your father would have a ten percent shareholding in this matter. You would be in charge of the project when we have successfully won the bidding contract. You will be rewarded at a rate of five percent based on net profit.”
“I’m not interested in that mere five percent.” Paisley smiled in a playful way towards Ornard. She stretched out her slender hand and flirtatiously tapped on his chest. She moved closer to him and kissed that old man’s face with her red lips. She said coquettishly, “My eyes are currently on you instead!”
