Azalea still didn’t know that the Floyd family had terminated the contract with her. After slandering everything to Abbie, she was so tired that she fell onto the bed and began to sleep in a hazy state. Her assistant knocked on the door and called her.
“Miss Clark! Miss Clark, wake up!”
“What are you doing? Don’t you know I’m very sleepy now?” Azalea scolded impatiently.
“It’s the call from the company. Cecilia is looking for you. She wants you to reply to her call immediately.”
Cecilia Bailey was Azalea’s manager. Azalea couldn’t be rude to her manager like how she treated her assistant. She immediately sat up and muttered, “It’s annoying. Why are you looking for me now?”
As she muttered to herself, she grabbed the phone on the bedside table and turned it on, dialing Cecilia’s number.
Before she could talk on the phone, Cecilia started bombarding her. “Azalea, what’s wrong with you? Why would the Floyd family terminate the contract with you?”
“Terminate the contract? What contract?” Azalea asked.
“Are you playing dumb with me? The lawyer of the Floyd family has come to the company with the contract of termination. What the hell are you doing? Being terminated from the contract in such a short period, that’s humiliating! How can I explain this to the company?”
“Did you make a mistake?”
“Can the black and white document be mistaken? Do you think I’m as stupid as you?” Cecilia scolded her rudely.
“You have to give the company an explanation for this. Without a reasonable explanation, you can’t get any resources. Just live like this forever.”
This was a warning for her to blacklist her. Cecilia hung up the phone after scolding her. Azalea was stunned for a few seconds before she called Emily. “Auntie, why did the Floyd family terminate the contract with me?”
“Don’t you know what you did last night?” Emily was ashamed of what Azalea had done. She was impatient when Azalea called her.
Emily’s infuriating attitude made Azalea’s heart skip a beat. Could it be that the fact that she had schemed against Michael had been discovered? Only Meadow, her assistant, and she knew about it. Who would know if they did not tell anyone?
No matter what, she had to pretend to be confused. Azalea made up her mind and immediately defended herself. “I didn’t do anything? Auntie, why do you say that?”
“Are you playing dumb with me? Okay, let me ask you. Did you discuss with Meadow about framing Michael last night?”
“Auntie, what do you mean? How can I frame Michael with Meadow? Michael is Meadow’s son. As a mother, how can she scheme against her own son?”
“Are you still pretending to be confused? Let me tell you, the Floyd family has the audio of you and Meadow discussing the matter of framing Michael. You are so shameless. Do you think that the Floyd family will let you be the ambassador?” Because of anger, Emily spoke to Azalea rudely.
Azalea was shocked. Did she have such bad luck? She and Meadow’s secret plan had been recorded. Wasn’t it too tragic?
She didn’t know who was so annoying to secretly record to trap with her. The truth had emerged. Ordinary people couldn’t deny it but could only admit their mistakes.
However, Azalea was not an ordinary person. She was shameful enough. She knew well that she couldn’t admit it. If she admitted it, her acting career will be over.
Anyway, the ones who planned secretly were she and Meadow. Meadow would never admit to that, and she would not be silly enough to take the initiative to admit it. All she had to do was to deny this matter. “Auntie, I did not scheme against Michael with Meadow. This must be a misunderstanding!”
“Stop quibbling. This is the truth! I’m too ashamed to speak up for you.” Emily was disappointed and angry.
“Auntie, I really didn’t conspire with Meadow! Last night, it was my party. I was being schemed by others like that. How did I have the energy to conspire to frame others? Someone must be framing me and Meadow. Someone deliberately made a fake audio to frame me and Meadow!”
“Fake audio? Then why did you pretend to be drunk? You didn’t get drunk at the party, but pretended to be drunk and went back to the room. All your words and deeds were all being captured by the camera. You can’t deny it.”
Azalea cursed in her heart. She forgot about this. If she had known about this earlier, she would have been playing dumb to the end. Now that she had revealed such a secret, what a headache!
Azalea knew that there was only one way to go. She must not admit it. She sobbed, “Auntie, why don’t you believe me? I really didn’t scheme against Michael. There was a reason for the matter that happened last night. Now that you know, I won’t hide it from you. I didn’t get drunk last night. I just pretended to be drunk and went back to my room. Do you know why I did that?”
“Why?”
Since someone went to get the monitor and saw her pretending to be drunk, then the matter of her being schemed must have been known by the others.
Azalea suddenly came up with an idea and immediately thought of an excuse to defend herself.
“At the party last night, someone gave me a nude photo of myself and threatened me. I was very scared, so I pretended to be drunk and went back to the room as a way to deal with it. Later, when I returned to the room, the man sent me a message asking me to go out to meet him. After leaving the room, I went to the corner of the stairs and was trapped.”
“Are you serious? You’re not lying to me?” Emily could not believe it.
“It’s true. Why would I lie to you? That man planned to kill me. I was so scared and didn’t think too much of it. And I was fooled.”
Azalea knew that she couldn’t return now. She could only blame everything on Abbie. She was good at acting. She cried and continued to slander Abbie.
“Aunty, after I calmed down, I thought that the person who schemed against me must be Abbie. She hated me. In order to retaliate against me, she planned everything and waited for me to fall into her trap. She caused me to be terminated by the Floyd family and ruined my career. I had become a joke in one night. She deliberately let Michael see my ugliness last night so that he would hate me more. I lost thoroughly this time.”
Emily was very sad because of Azalea’s deception. However, after listening to her talking nonsense calmly, she started to believe in Azalea.
She regarded Azalea as her own daughter, of course, she would have prejudice. She could not believe that her daughter would be so shameless and despicable, so there must be something behind last night’s incident.
Emily sighed and softened his tone. “If that’s the case, why didn’t you tell me last night? Why did you hide it?”
“I wanted to tell you last night, but I was afraid that you would be worried. Later, I suspected Abbie, so I immediately called you to tell you the whole story. I didn’t expect that Abbie was so despicable that she even created the fake audios of me and Meadow. Aunt, think about it. Meadow is Michael’s biological mother. Maternal love is the greatest love in the world. How could she trick her son?”
