When Michael saw that his mother was calling, he didn’t pick up and rejected it directly. However, his phone rang again a few seconds later. Michael continued to reject it, but Meadow continued to call him. He had no choice but to answer in the end. “Mom, what is it?”
“Michael, what’s wrong with you? Azalea’s party has already begun. Why haven’t you arrived yet?” Meadow complained.
“I’m busy with something right now!” Michael lied.
“What is it? It’s almost nine o’clock.” Meadow glanced at Azalea next to her. “Are you reluctant to come? You’d better not lie to me and you promised me in the afternoon. You won’t go back on your words, right? How can you not keep your promise?”
“Mom, I really can’t leave!” Michael frowned. Abbie’s expression was extremely grim when she heard the conversation between Meadow and Michael.

Abbie’s face was livid and her lips were trembling as Meadow scolded her. She wanted to say something, but she couldn’t. After all, Meadow was right. She did ask Michael not to attend Azalea’s party. If it weren’t for her, Michael might have gone to the Floyd family’s party. This made Abbie uncomfortable, so she walked away.
Michael knew that Abbie was angry when he saw her leave, so he didn’t care about Meadow anymore. He hung up and reached out to stop her. “Abbie, wait a minute. Listen to my explanation!”
Abbie laughed coldly, “What else is there to explain? Michael Davis, you can stop pretending now. I know that you’re on the fence now and you’re in a very difficult position, so I won’t make things harder for you. You should leave right now and go to Azalea’s party.”
