Bobby quickly marched out of the president’s office and soon met Valeria. She was holding a bag that was tightly sealed in her hand and was having a conversation with the secretary. Bobby reached out with a smile on his face and said, “Mrs. Howard, let me give you a hand!”
Valeria drew back her hand and said, “No, I can’t give it to you as this is meant for my husband. What should I do if you secretly have it all?”
“Rest assured as I would not consume it!” Bobby promised her.
“I don’t believe you. It would be best if I give it to him personally.” Bobby chuckled and lowered his voice, “Mrs. Howard, Sir is feeling relatively moody right now.”
Valeria paused and asked in a soft voice, “Did something bad happen not long ago?”
“Yes, you’re right. It would be best to hear it from him. Mrs. Howard, you can head in and meet with him now.”
“Alright, thanks for the heads up!” Valeria carried the bag with her and went into the office. She glanced at Bobby upon reaching the door and asked, “I refused to share with you the food that I brought for my husband. You would not be mad at me, wouldn’t you?”
“Of course not. Do I look like a petty person to you? Besides, I’m not a fan of those unhealthy snacks that you are very fond of.”
“Pfft!” Valeria went into the office and closed the door. William was still seen to be twirling his pen with a serious look on his face. He did not even notice her coming into his office.
Valeria walked up to him quietly and placed the bag on the table. She wrapped her arms around his neck and said, “Honey!”
William swiftly came back into reality upon hearing her gentle voice. He asked, “Why are you here?”
“I came over as I have been missing you dearly. I have also brought you something delicious. Care to have a guess at it?”
William took a peek at the tightly-sealed bag and began to blindly test his luck, “Milk tea, chocolate, yogurt, macaron, beef jerky, potato crisps…”
Valeria reached out and covered his mouth. “Nope! They are all incorrect! You have yet to guess it right!”
“What is it then?”
“It’s sushi! I have made them myself!” Valeria replied and sat on William’s leg. She opened the bag with a triumphant smile. “Have a look at my masterpiece. It does look appetizing, doesn’t it?”
“Since when you are skillful in making sushi?” William glanced at the sushi with an excited look on his face.
“Do have a try then! It is absolutely mouth-watering. Why am I so talented? The sushi taste divine despite being my first time to make it. I was very eager to bring it for you.” Valeria picked up the chopsticks and took a piece of sushi. She fed William and asked, “Honey, what do you think?”
“It’s delicious! This is absolutely out of the world!” William replied in an exaggerated manner.
“Really? I did have the same thought when I first took a bite at it. Your father was really impressed by the sushi that I have made as well.” Valeria was flattered and continued speaking, “Honey, don’t you think that I have the potential to become a chef? I am very confident to establish a restaurant in the future. The delicious food made by such a beautiful person like me will definitely make my eatery to become a hot spot. I might even have the chance to be as famous as the celebrity chefs.”
William was dumbfounded and said, “I do not agree with this idea of yours. I am the only one who can enjoy my wife’s impressive cooking skills. I shall be the first to object you to run a restaurant.”
“Honey, how can you be so selfish?”
“Well, I do admit to this part of me. Our sons and I shall be the only customers should you decide to open a restaurant in the future. You could be our private chef!”
“I knew you would say that! But I still like to hear your praises very much. Honey, how could you be so talented in making me feel good about myself? I am now craving sushi upon seeing you enjoy it. Do you know what I am trying to say?”
William swiftly took a bite of the sushi and fed her the rest of it. She was careless and the corner of her mouth was left with some salad dressing.
She wanted to take a tissue and wipe it away but was halted by William. He held her waist firmly with a smile and licked the dressing away from her mouth. Valeria welcomed his action and they soon started kissing each other.
William eventually loosened his grip on her after making out with each other. He felt much better ever since Valeria had paid him a visit. He held her in his arms and caressed her belly while feeling the fetal movement of their babies.
Valeria quietly leaned in his arms. She patiently waited for William to have some alone time with their babies. She finally asked, “Honey, were you in a bad mood just now? What happened?”
“Yes, something undelightful had occurred just now but my mood improved after seeing you. I’ll tell you about it later as it is too early for you to know right now,” It was not William’s intention to hide things from her. The speculation regarding Callum had yet to be confirmed. David had gone missing but there was no proof that he was already dead. William decided to keep an open mind before there were any updates about David. It was wise to obtain the full picture as it would do harm to Callum’s reputation judging by current circumstances.
“Alright then! I do sincerely hope that you could feel upbeat most of the time. I will be happy to lend an ear if you decide to share your depressed feelings with me. I am your happy pill which has the ability to get rid of your distressing thoughts.”
“Okay!” William smiled and held her tightly before he continued speaking, “My wife is indeed my source of happiness. I would not feel gloomy as long as you’re with me.”
Their laughter could be heard outside of the office. Bobby was relieved when he heard it and an unconscious smile appeared on his face.
What a wonderful sight! Sir William had to digest his negative emotions in the past by himself. There was no one who had a way to cheer him up. It looked like things had changed for the better. Valeria was his rock and could brighten his mood in a blink of an eye. It was evident that the couple was indeed a match made in heaven!
Bobby was standing outside of the president’s office while smiling like an idiot. A few of the secretaries felt strange as he had always been a weird and serious person. They dared not to have any communication with him but were genuinely curious about his bizarre reaction.
One of them mustered up her courage and headed towards him. She asked, “What are you laughing at?”
The smile on his face swiftly disappeared and was replaced by a fierce glare. He had a stern look on his face and was about to leave but his phone suddenly rang. He answered the call and talked briefly before ending it. He then swiftly turned and headed towards the president’s office to knock on the door.
William was holding Valeria in his arm. He heard the knock and said, “Do come in!”
Bobby pushed the door open and entered the office. He was not surprised to see the couple being intimate with each other. He shut the door and paced quickly towards William. “Sir, I just received news from the hospital that Natasya is dead!”
“That was rather quick, don’t you think so? I had assumed that she would hang in there for a few more days,” William replied without any trace of sympathy on his face. “She’s dead, which would mean that Hardy will have another charge of murder. He would soon be faced with punishment, right?”
“Hardy is a stubborn person and still refuses to admit his guilty acts. He has been trying to drag the time out.”
“I’m not surprised by it. He’s still hoping that his family would come to his rescue. Haha! How naive of him.” William sneered and continued speaking, “The chosen one from the Anthony family who would be replacing him must have arrived, right?”
Bobby nodded and replied, “Yes, the heir had arrived yesterday and had already commenced his work in the company. Poor Hardy is still hoping for someone to save him from trouble. How pathetic of him!”
William’s face was full of contempt and he said, “The Anthony family had turned their backs against Hardy. They will not clean his mess and he would soon find out about this tragedy. I’m looking forward to the despaired look on his face upon knowing the truth!”
