Bobby was also as shocked as William when he heard this and he stepped harshly on the brakes. “How… how is this possible?”
“Yes, it’s really unbelievable. Declan told me that Raelyn had once killed a servant girl of the Saunders family. The girl had been in the Saunders family for many years and was very close to Raelyn’s mother. She was very good and faithful to Raelyn, but she was poisoned and killed by Raelyn in the end! Poison was directly injected into her bloodstream and my mother was killed the same way as well.”
“Why is she so deranged?” Although Bobby was familiar with cruelty and he had witnessed many murders before, he was shocked by Raelyn’s viciousness as well.
“Yes, Raelyn’s viciousness is beyond anyone’s imagination. Declan felt very strange because of this matter. In his opinion, the servant was not a threat to Raelyn at all. On the contrary, she was very helpful to Raelyn. The 500 million dollars that Raelyn got from Gavin was actually a favour from that servant. Declan feels that there was no reason for Raelyn to treat the servant like this.”
William paused for a moment. “After that servant died, Raelyn personally built a tomb for the servant. Declan saw Raelyn send her respects and she actually kowtowed in front of the servant’s grave. At that time, he thought it was because Raelyn was guilty because she had killed someone. Later, Raelyn accidentally said that she had killed her own mother when she was drunk.”
“So the maid is Raelyn’s mother?” Bobby had an incredulous expression on his face.
William shook his head. “According to what Declan had said, he suspected that Raelyn was the offspring of that servant. But as far as I know, Gavin and my father-in-law are both very loyal to their spouses. They have always loved their wives deeply. Bobby understood. “Is it possible that the servant used her daughter to replace Mrs. Saunders’ daughter?”
“Yes, I could only think of this reason. However, Declan did not find evidence t prove this statement and all he said was that Raelyn indeed resembled the servant’s husband.”
“If this is true… the Saunders family…”
Bobby did not continue his sentence, but William knew what he meant. If Raelyn was not part of the Saunders family’s bloodline, how much of an impact would it have on Gavin?
Gavin devoted his heart and soul to Raelyn. Compared to Archer and Raelyn, it was obvious that Gavin was much more fond of Raelyn.
He doted on Raelyn and indulged her to a shocking extent. He even hurt Raymond and Valeria, who are his grandchildren, for Raelyn.
If it was confirmed that Raelyn was not his daughter, Gavin’s protection towards Raelyn previously would be a complete joke. How could he accept it?
William frowned. “If Declan hadn’t suddenly said that, I wouldn’t have suspected that Raelyn wasn’t a part of the Saunders family. He said that he found something strange.”
Along nodded and said, “Raelyn is despicable and malicious, but Gavin, Archer, Raymond, and Valeria are all kind people. They will never be as crazy as her. Of course, people will change according to their environment, but it is also possible that Raelyn became bad because she was influenced by Declan and his brother. But when it comes to appearance, Raelyn has no resemblance to Archer and Gavin at all.”
“Yeah, Raelyn doesn’t seem to have anything in common with the Saunders family, so we have to look into it. Find a way to do a DNA test on Raelyn and Gavin!”
By the time William got home, it was already midnight. However, Valeria was still awake and she was in a video call with Abbie. When she heard the sound of William’s car coming back, she immediately bid goodbye to Abbie and said, “Abbie, my husband is back. Oh no, it’s already so late. Valeria quickly turned off the video and lay down, but she was listening to what was happening outside the room. Soon, William’s footsteps could be heard on the stairs while Valeria closed her eyes and lay motionlessly.
Soon, William opened the door and came in. He walked over to the bed and rubbed his hands before he gently lifted the blanket to touch Valeria’s stomach.
Valeria pretended to open her eyes and acted as though she had just woken up. “Dear? You are back! Why are you so late today?”
William smirked, “Is it that late? Didn’t you just go to bed?”
“Who said I just slept? I slept at 10 o’clock…”
“Alright, stop lying. I don’t like liars!” William interrupted Valeria. “I know you haven’t slept and you’ve been playing with your phone!”
“How did you know? But I heard your footsteps and pretended to fall asleep. Do you have superpowers?” Valeria refused to admit it.
William burst into laughter. “Of course, not. It was dad who told me that he and Lucas have been keeping an eye on you when I wasn’t at home. They were worried sick when you didn’t go to sleep. You should go to bed now.”
“I see. It’s not that I don’t want to sleep, but I can’t fall asleep when I’m alone. I want you to hug me to sleep.” Valeria acted like a spoiled child.
“Alright, I’ll do that.” William kissed her face and went to wash up. Just then, Valeria got out of bed as well and went to the bathroom. “Honey, is Talitha really dead? Abbie just told me about it. Why would something like that happen?”
“She’s not dead and she’s perfectly fine!” William replied.
“Ah? Really? Then what the hell is Raelyn doing? I heard from Arthur that she went to cry and complain to Grandpa in the afternoon. She said that Raymond had killed Talitha and she asked for an explanation. She’s living there in the meantime. I just told Abbie about this matter. If Raymond had killing intent, he would not be fooled by them in the first place.”
“You can’t say that about your brother! He’s no longer the man he used to be, so don’t insult him like that anymore.” William brushed his teeth and glanced at Valeria, who made a funny face. “I know. I’ll talk to him respectfully from now on! But will you also do the same?”
