Chapter 798 If I Had Known

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

After William asked Valeria to reflect on her mistakes, she went back to the bedroom to rethink her actions but she failed to figure out what was wrong. However, she was so tired that she fell asleep and did not get up until three o’clock in the afternoon.
She opened the door and called her husband, but no one answered. Then, she remembered that William was still angry with her.
Bobby came out of the bodyguard’s room after hearing Valeria’s voice. “Madam, William went out because he has something to do!”
“Where did he go?” Valeria asked.
“He went to the company to deal with something,” Bobby replied, “Before he left, he told me to take you back to the family home after you woke up.”
“Didn’t he say that he’ll go back with me? How can he let me go alone? He’s a man! But he’s so petty!” Valeria murmured and picked up her phone to call William, but she couldn’t get through.
Bobby reminded her, “Sir must be in a meeting and his mobile phone is turned off!”
Valeria did not believe Bobby and murmured. “Are you angry with me or is your phone really turned off? I have reflected on my mistakes for hours. What else do you want?”
Bobby held back his laughter and thought to himself, “Were you really reflecting on yourself?”
Of course, he did not dare to say this out loud. “Madam, should we go to the family home now?”
“Let’s go! I’m not afraid!” Valeria muttered and picked up her bag before she went out of the hotel with Bobby.
She walked to the corridor and thought of Silas. “Where is Silas? Where did he go?”
“He went to handle some work.”
“Why is everyone acting so strange today?!” Valeria murmured and entered the elevator with Bobby.
They drove away from Wolf Group Hotel and headed straight for the Howard family’s old estate. While waiting for the red light at the crossroad, a car quickly drove over from behind them and stopped beside them.
The driver of the car was Bevan. Hardy, who was sitting in the back row, rolled down the window and looked at Valeria with a faint smile on his face.
Valeria looked at Hardy indifferently with disgust in her eyes.
When Hardy saw Valeria’s disgust towards him, his heart ached as if it had been shattered to pieces.
He knew that the person he loved was Valeria and he wanted to say hello to her with a smile. However, he could not bear the sharp pain in his heart and it felt excruciating.
Talitha was too cruel to place such a strong hex on him. He could not even pretend to say hello to Valeria! It felt as if was as if tens of thousands of bullets had pierced his chest.
Hardy’s face was pale. He reached out and pressed the button to wind up the windows to block his pain and embarrassment.
He actually hoped that Valeria could take a look at him while he held his chest, but his hopes were futile. Valeria had only glanced at him when they were side by side, but her gaze was full of disdain and disgust.
Her disdain towards him caused a heartbreak for Hardy that was even more excruciating than the hex. He knew that it was impossible for him and Valeria to have a future together!
If he had known what would happen today, he wouldn’t have done such a mistake! As soon as this thought emerged in his mind, Valeria’s car had already left his sight.
Bevan saw that Hardy’s forehead was covered with sweat, so he took out a paper towel and handed it to Hardy. “Boss, you don’t look too good. Are you still going to see Natasya?”
“Yes! How can I not see her? I’m in so much pain, so how can the Anderson sisters be at ease? I have to make them pay a hundred times the price for what they have done to me.” Hardy gritted his teeth and spat out the sentence with deep hatred.
Bevan could understand Hardy’s hatred. The Anderson family was too despicable and shameless. He sighed. “I’ve already revealed your whereabouts to Talitha. I believe she’ll be here soon.”
“Then we’ll just wait and see!”
In the hotel, Natasya dressed up and left the hotel room after she put on a pair of sunglasses and a hat.
When she went out, Raelyn was watching TV in the living room. The older woman asked, “Why are you goin out again?”
“Are you going to stay in your room for the rest of your life? I’m bored to death!”
Raelyn had nothing to say when she heard Natasya’s words. Then, she sighed and turned to watch the TV.
Talitha heard Natasya going out of her room and immediately called Raymond. “Raymond, are you here?”
“I’m here and I’m waiting for you downstairs. Come down now.”
“Alright.” Talitha also took her bag and walked out of the door. Raelyn was stunned for a moment when she saw Talitha leaving. “You’re also going out?”
“That’s right!”
“Are you going on a date with Hardy?” Raelyn asked.
“Well, more or less!” Talitha said vaguely and quickly walked out of the door before she went straight to the elevator.
At the entrance of the hotel, Raymond was waiting for Talitha in the car. Then, the driver pressed the honk as soon as he saw Talitha and she jogged over to them.
She opened the car door and hurriedly told Raymond, “Raymond, I have already heard that Hardy is going to the Dragonfly Club, so we should head there too.”
“Okay, let’s go to the club.” Raymond told the driver.
The car sped straight to the Dragonfly Club. Talitha saw Natasya’s car when they reached the intersection in front of the club. “Hey, isn’t that Natasya? Why is she here?”
“She should also be heading to the Dragonfly Club,” Raymond said deliberately.
“Really? Why does she want to go to that place?” Meanwhile, Natasya drove into the parking lot of the Dragonfly Club and Talitha’s face was full of surprise. “Is she here to date someone? I’m telling you, Natasya has been acting strange recently. I suspect that she has a new boyfriend!”
“Really? It’s normal for her to have a new boyfriend. She’s about the same age as you. Since you already have a boyfriend, she probably doesn’t want to fall behind.”
“No, I don’t mean it that way. I mean, Natasya’s been acting weird and I think that she is messing around outside.”
“No way!” Raymond looked surprised.
“I’m telling the truth! Raymond, since you have so many people under you, why don’t we arrange someone to keep an eye on Natasya?”
“Alright, I’ll do that!” Raymond picked up the phone and made a few phone calls. “Okay, it’s done!”
Talitha let out a sigh of relief. “Thank you for helping me! I will always remember how kind you are to me.”
She looked grateful, and Raymond lowered his eyelids to hide the disgust in his eyes. Did Talitha actually think of him as a fool? He used to think of her as his sister, but she betrayed him in the end!
She cruelly and shamelessly schemed against him and forced him to fall off the cliff. When she used him as her pawn, she did not have the slightest pity or affection for him.
The most shameless thing was that after Talitha set him up in such a despicable way, she actually thought that he would be stupid enough to continue being her pawn. She was really too self-absorbed.
Raymond put on a straight face in an instant. He looked at Talitha and smiled. “Let’s wait here for a while. When there is news, we will go up and check out the situation.”
Of course, Talitha did not object and they sat in the car for more than ten minutes when Raymond’s phone rang suddenly. He picked up the hands-free and the bodyguard’s voice could be heard clearly.
“Sir, a woman just entered Hardy’s private room.”
