Fandrey burst out of laughter and said, “Why would you make yourself so miserable? I’ve told you to not bother about his matter and leave it to me. Why would you call him and ruin your mood?”
“Why are you still smiling when I’m feeling upset?” Deborah sat up angrily.
Fandrey stopped giggling and said, “Alright, I won’t laugh at you then! I’m just reminding you to not forget about the situation when Tilda had chosen to be with Hayden last time, okay? Do you still remember how she had talked back when she was being forced to cut ties with Hayden by you? William is her son and he is just as stubborn as his mother. Besides, he is currently in the honeymoon phase of his relationship. It would be a miracle if he agrees to your request.”
Deborah replied gloomily, “I am just worried that he might be cheated by her, that’s all. My impression of Valeria is going downhill the more I think about it..”
Fandrey was not bothered by it and said, “What can she possibly do when she is just merely a woman? You don’t have to worry about William as he’s much smarter than you think.”
“Haven’t you heard of being overconfident of oneself? Only God knows whether Valeria had used something to gain control of William. Besides, didn’t you pay attention to Angel telling us about the love poison? That’s utterly outrageous and initmdating!”
“It’s better to be skeptical against Natasya’s statement as she is not an innocent person after all. She might have made up the entire story just to deceive us. We have to be sure about it before we take any further action!”
“What do you think we should do then? Are you just going to turn a blind eye on William? I shall remind you that he has already registered with Valeria as a married couple. We have to stop him before it’s too late!”
Fandrey shook his head upon seeing the worried look on Deborah’s face and said, “I am well aware of it. Besides, they are also expecting their children soon. Would you listen to the advice of others and cut ties with your partner and children if you were in William’s shoes?”
Deborah replied with certainty, “What? Of course not!”
“Exactly! Why would you expect William to agree on your idea then? It’s reasonable that William was rebellious against your advice. I do hope that you would feel better as nothing can change Wiliam’s mind for the time being. We have to plan things ahead in order to get ahold of the truth.”
Deborah’s eyes lit up and asked, “What are you planning to do? Tell me about it!”
“I remembered telling you about my plan before. We shall use the inspection of our company as an excuse to return back to the country. We can take a closer look before planning our next move!” Fandrey carried the food tray up and continued, “You have to eat something to ensure your health is top-notch. You can’t follow me there if you decide to starve yourself.”
Deborah immediately took the food from him and said, “Okay then! I shall consume my portion of food so I can then go back to the country with you!”
The sun penetrated through the window and it was shining brightly. Valeria finally woke up and stretched her hands out of habit. She sensed something fluffy beside her.
She opened her eyes and saw a chunky bear lying beside her while staring at her.
Valeria stretched out her hands and violently caressed the bear. “Are you pretending to be my husband and accompany me to bed? Pfft! You do not stand any chance!”
She muttered before eventually pushing away the bear. She got up and headed to the bathroom to wash up.
Bobby was sitting on the sofa in the living room. He smiled upon seeing her coming out of the bedroom and said, “Breakfast is ready at the dining table. By the way, William is in the study room.”
“Alright. Thank you!” Valeria politely thanked him before making her way to the dining area. She inhaled her breakfast and made a hot cup of tea before heading towards the study room. She realized that William was on the phone upon reaching the door.
She could not understand a single word as he spoke in a foreign language.
Valeria opened the door and placed the teacup on the study table. William hung up the phone and asked her with a smile on her face, “Are you feeling happy upon receiving the bear from me?”
“Yes! But I was shocked when I found it lying beside me as I thought that you have transformed into a bear!”
William burst into laughter while Valeria continued to ask, “Honey, what on earth were you talking on the phone? Why was I unable to understand anything?”
“I was speaking in Greek.”
“Really? Why would you take up this langague?”
“I just wanted to pass time,” William answered with a smile.
“What other languages are you fluent in?” Valeria stared at him with a surprised look on her face.
“Well, I know a bit of English, French, German, and Italian.”
Valeria was stunned and cursed, “What the f*ck!”
“It’s not good to swear!” William glanced at her with a faint smile. “What should we do if our children cuss during the moment they are being born?”
“Opps! My bad as I slipped my tongue! However, I did not expect you to know so many languages!”
“Are you feeling surprised? Am I very admirable? Well then, I should receive a token of appreciation from you!” William pointed at his lips and gestured Valeria to kiss him.
Valeria glared at him and said, “Pfft! Who says so? You’re actually a liar! I was being deceived by you for a long period of time! I even sold off all my jewelry just to pay off your debts. I’m so pissed upon thinking about it.”
“It was a good deal for you, right? Didn’t I return several times the money that you borrowed to me?” William giggled.
“I am still nevertheless feeling upset about it! How could you be such a flawless man? I feel so tiny beside you and others would assume that you are too good for me. Imagine how stressful I am!”
“Alright, calm down. I do agree that you are a rather clueless person. However, you are very gorgeous, adorable, and kind-hearted! Are you feeling a bit better now?”
“Pfft! Are you indirectly insulting me by saying that I am a clueless person? I am a top student in a prestigious university with a good knack for drawing, dancing, and music. I might either be a well-respected pianist or a painter if it wasn’t because of my mother!”
“Oh well! You would not have married me if you did become a professional pianist or painter. Things turn out to be better than you have imagined as the fortune favors the fools!”
“Who is the fool then?” Valeria was furious and glared at him.
William grinned and replied, “No one. I am just reminiscing of the past.”
Valeria stepped forward and was about to tickle him when his phone suddenly rang. He glanced at his phone and said with a smile, “Honey, stop messing around for now. Your hubby is about to answer an important business call.”
“Pfft! You liar! I would not be fooled you!” Valeria continued to tickle him all over and he burst out laughing.
He eventually answered the phone while he continued to giggle. Jaxon was stunned upon hearing his laughter and asked, “William! Why would you be in such an upbeat mood?”
“It’s nothing! I’m fine!” William did not bother to tell Jaxon that he was joking around with Valeria.
Valeria did not want to disturb him further and said, “I’ll make you pay next time!”
William gestured a begging hand-sign to her before getting down to business. His voice returned to normal as he said, “What have you managed to find out?”
Jaxon replied, “William, I have found out something that is a piece of shocking news.”
“Really? Tell me about it then!”
“Emily and your uncle broke up because of the Laban family instead of the Floyd family. Your aunt, Veronica, is the main reason for the end of their relationship. Veronica was considered to be the future Mrs. Floyd but your uncle was not a fan of her. He was instead interested in Emily and both women were fighting against each other just to win over your uncle. It was initially a friendly match before things get ugly. Emily soon plotted against Veronica and your aunt was unfortunately badly injured.”
