Hardy was straight to the point and had arranged things well in advance. Paisley was feeling moody but tried her best to comfort him. “Hardy, it’s not game over for us yet. We will get our hands on the antidote.”
“I know, we are just planning for the worst. Paisley, I would like to tell you about another thing. I have also caught feelings towards Natasya besides Talitha. I am uncontrollably attracted towards Natasya.”
Paisley was shocked and asked, “What? Did the sisters drug you together?”
“I don’t know. I reckon this happens because they are both twins. Isn’t it said that twins are well connected to each other? This might then explain my current feelings towards the both of them.”
Paisley was extremely anxious and said, “Hardy, what should we do? Talitha is an easy target but things are different for Natasya. She is a scheming, vicious, and thick-skinned person and ought to do anything that benefits her. We will be met with trouble if she is aware of her control over you.”
Hardy knew what was Paisley trying to say. Talitha might just aspire to become the president’s wife of Acma Corporation. She was not an ambitious person and would only be interested in being wealthy and owning a respectable social status.
However, Natasya was different than her sister. It would be unthinkable if she was aware of the power she had to control Hardy.
He frowned and thought for a moment. “I have a plan!”
“What is it?” Paisley asked.
“I shall seduce Natasya and make both sisters be jealous of each other!”
Paisley was shocked and questioned, “Are you sure?”
“Natasya’s reputation has been shattered into pieces and no one in their right mind would want her. She has to find a way out for herself, right? She will not back off if she finds out that I am interested in her. I would be her last glimmer of hope to turn things around.”
Hardy thought about her displeasure towards him and grinned coldly. “Paisley, let’s come up with a good plan. I would want to give a big surprise to the Anderson family tonight.”
Natasya did not want to wake up ever since the scandal that happened yesterday. Raelyn pushed the door open and came into her room as she was worried about her daughter. “Natasya, it’s already noon. How about you get up from bed and have something to fill up your tummy? I can satisfy any cravings that you have.”
Natasya remained silent and only shook her head. Raelyn sighed and said, “I know that you are feeling sad. However, you have to cheer up and hold your head high. It’s not wise to give up so easily, right? Your father and I have always been proud of you. Do not let us down as we have faith in you!”
“What am I left with now? Didn’t you hear what Talitha had said? I can only marry either a middle-aged widower or a penniless man,” Natasya replied in a hoarse tone.
“Do not listen to Talitha. She has always been a fan of spewing nonsense. You are both sisters after all and blood is always thicker than water. Listen to me and just ignore her. Come on, let’s get up and have something.”
Natasya refused and continued to lay on the bed. Raelyn sighed and said, “You would feel better if Talitha apologizes to you, right?”
Raelyn had no choice but to seek for Talitha, “Talitha, you have crossed the line for criticizing your sister so harshly yesterday. She has not been eating or drinking ever since yesterday and it is not good for her to continue on like this. Just try in persuading her to get up from bed and have something to fill up her stomach.”
“Pfft, there is no need to make such a big fuss over it. She is just not feeling hungry and would eventually eat after she starved herself for a few days,” Talitha refused to apologize.
“Talitha, please, I’m begging you,” Raelyn was very worried and hoped that Talitha would eventually agree to ease Natasya’s mood.
Talitha still did not have a change of heart. Raelyn sighed and left as she had run out of ideas.
Talitha snorted and said, “Pfft! She shall just continue her act! Who does she think she is? Are we responsible to tolerate and treat her like a princess? That is never going to happen!”
She muttered and her phone suddenly rang. She glanced and realized it was from Hardy. She grinned and swiftly answered the phone with a gentle voice, “Hardy!”
“Talitha, I have just remembered about something. We are a couple but I have yet to formally introduce myself to your family. Hence, I would like to invite your family to have a meal together at my hotel tonight. Paisley would also be there and our families would officially meet each other for the first time.”
“But, it is not possible for my dad to attend it,” Talitha replied.
“Oh right, I have forgotten about your father’s situation. It will be just fine for your mother and your sister to attend the dinner tonight. We can get to know each other a little bitter over a lovely meal. Do not worry as I will also notify my parents about it. Our parents would meet each other soon and we can then plan for our wedding to become husband and wife.”
Talitha was extremely delighted and agreed, “Okay, I’ll tell my mom about this right now.”
Hardy reminded her once again, “Great. Everyone except your father must attend the dinner tonight! This is a very special meal between our family together and both your mother and sister must be there!”
Talitha hung up the phone and danced happily in her room. She frowned upon thinking about the request of Natasya’s presence at the dinner tonight and she did not want her sister to ruin things. However, it was not appropriate for Natasya to be absent as this was the first time for both families to meet with each other.
Talitha could not show her extreme displeasure towards Natasya in front of Hardy. Fine then, she decided to apologize to Natasya in hopes for her to attend the dinner tonight.
She brought some food with her and knocked on Natasya’s door. “Natasya, I was at the wrong yesterday. I’m sorry. Please get up and have something to eat.”
Natasya was upset at the sight of Talitha but realized she was at a disadvantageous point to argue with her sister. Raelyn tried to comfort her and she was also feeling extremely hungry. She eventually accepted Talitha’s apology and consumed her lunch.
Raelyn was very delighted upon seeing the sisters making up to each other. Talitha immediately told Raelyn about Hardy’s proposal, “Mommy, Hardy had called me and he wants to treat us dinner at night. This would be the first gathering session between the Anthony and Anderson family.”
“Really? That’s great!” Raelyn was very pleased and replied, “It’s a pity that your father can’t come over. However, I shall share this piece of good news with him.”
Natasya froze upon hearing about Hardy’s dinner proposal tonight. She finally knew about Talitha’s ulterior motive upon taking the initiative and apologized to her first. Natasya wanted to refuse but there was no excuse for her to skip the dinner.
She had no bargaining power and had no right to be acting fussy. She had to constrain her feelings and was left with no choice but to attend the dinner tonight.
