Angel stared at the last message for a long time before reverting back. She had recalled that William hung up her phone when Valeria went to seek him. How daring of Valeria to cross the line!
Who gave Valeria the right to control William’s action? Angel was feeling jealous upon thinking of Valeria’s gorgeous features. Natasya was in a desperate situation and wanted to come between them. Angel then reminded herself to not be lured into Natasya’s trap.
Angel composed herself and questioned, “Why would Valeria hide the truth that William has gained back her memory?”
“Well, I have another thing to tell you which would justify her action. Do you still recall what I told you regarding Valeria’s mother being the murderer of your aunt? Your entire family would definitely object to Valeria’s relationship with your cousin if they are aware of this piece of news. Hence, she has told your cousin to hide his recovery from all of you!”
“What? Do you possibly think that William is a fool?”
“Of course not. However, he is currently being controlled by Valeria and I shall tell you something else. I suspect that she has used a love vermin to poison your cousin. This could explain why William is so obedient towards her and even decided to not seek revenge for his mother.”
“What is a love vermin?” Angel asked.
“You have no idea about it, right? Okay then, I shall be honest with you. I am not the girlfriend of William and the feeling is only one-sided. I adore him so much and want him to myself so badly. Hence, I have decided to drug him but it was a failure as I have made a mistake during the process. However, I did not expect Valeria to succeed in this matter and this is why I despise her so much.”
Natasya was so good at pretending until Angel was somewhat convinced by her nonsense. It won’t be surprising for Valeria to have the capability of drugging William as well since she and Natasya were both cousins.
Valeria was willing to do such a ridiculous thing just to control William and she had clearly gone too far. Angel decided to tell her grandfather about this when it was daytime later.
Raelyn was seated beside Natasya and let out a sigh upon seeing her daughter texting Angel. Raelyn said, “Natasya, your plan wont work! Why would the Floyd family believe your nonsense? I would like to remind you that they are not stupid.”
“Mummy, I am actually making a subtle move behind their back. It is true that I have poisoned him and hence, there is no use in keeping it a secret. I have instead taken the first move by admitting to the Floyd family about my intention. They would then be convinced that the love vermin is the reason why William is being so kind towards Valeria.”
“But William is well aware of his current situation, right? Isn’t it a waste of your effort if they decide to talk things through later?”
“Not at all! Have you forgotten about the complexity of their relationship? Mummy, think deeper about the strained relationship between the Floyd Family and Hayden. The Floyd family was so upset when Hayden had taken Matilda away from them. They would always go against Hayden as they were displeased with him. Besides, Matilda had fell down when she intended to visit Natalie which had caused her to suffer from dystocia. William’s grandparents would definitely dislike Valeria if we connect the dots. Hence, his grandparents would oppose Valeria as his girlfriend when they get to know about it.”
Natasya caught a breather and continued, “It is not possible for William to part ways with Valeria, right? He will come up with some ideas to protect her and there will be some extreme outcomes. The Floyd family would be increasingly upset when William continues to defend Valeria. Then, my lie would eventually come into the picture. The Floyd family would not be convinced that Valeria has the capability of letting William be so invested in her. Hence, there is only one reason to explain William’s rationale. Valeria has successfully poisoned William which had caused them to be in such a mess. What do you think of my perfect idea?”
Raelyn gave her a thumbs-up and praised, “It’s flawless! Natasya, how intelligent of you!”
Raelyn and Natasya stared at each other before wry smiles had crept on their faces. They imagined the displeased look on the Floyd family’s faces towards Valeria while William was awkwardly being stuck in the middle.
Footsteps were heard and the door was soon pushed open. It was seen that Talitha had come back together with Hardy.
Talitha was holding a bouquet of roses in her hand with a bright smile on her face. She entered the room and told Raelyn, “Mummy, these lovely roses need to be placed in the vase right now.”
Raelyn grinned and got down to business whereas Talitha went into the bedroom. She wanted to change into comfortable clothing as she was feeling a bit stuffy. Hardy and Natasya were the only ones in the living room.
Hardy immediately sat down beside Natasya and stared at her with a pair of passionate eyes. Natasya was feeling utterly uncomfortable as he had been looking at her for quite some time.
What on earth was wrong with Hardy? Why was he staring at me with such an unusual gaze?
‘Has he caught feelings for me? How is this possible? It would be explainable if Hardy likes me last time as my reputation has now been shattered into pieces. Hardy would be out of his mind if he is really interested in me.’
She composed herself and offered Hardy, “Would you like to have a glass of water?”
“Yes, please!” Hardy nodded.
Natasya then got up and poured a glass of water for Hardy. He deliberately held Natasya’s hand upon receiving the water from her.
“What the hell are you doing?” Natasya was taken aback but questioned him in a low voice to avoid others from hearing it.
Hardy continued to look at her passionately and said, “Natasya, you are so gorgeous! I have fallen in love with you!”
“Have you gone bonkers?” Natasya asked while glaring at him.
“Not at all. Natasya, I adore you and I really want to be together with you!” Hardy could not control his feelings and confessed further, “I have been dreaming about you ever since my encounter with you last night. I have also been missing you all day long. I have been thinking about you despite me hanging out with Talitha just now!”
He was spurting nonsense and was clearly mocking her! Natasya was feeling embarrassed and angrily withdrew her hand away from Hardy. However, the cup had accidentally fallen to the ground due to her sudden and impactful reaction.
He froze upon hearing the crashing sound of the glass while Natasya continued to glare at him. She then immediately headed back to her room with an upset look on her face.
He felt empty at the sight of Natasya leaving him without any hesitation. He could not understand why he had confessed his feelings to her. However, he had indeed fallen in love with Talitha and Natasya at the same time. He struggled to control himself despite acknowledging his bizarre behavior.
Talitha and Raelyn came out to have a look upon hearing the crashing sound and asked, “What has happened?”
“I’m so sorry as I have accidentally broken the glass,” Hardy replied with an apologetic look on his face.
“Don’t worry about it. Are you okay?” They did not give him an earful but were instead worried about him.
“Yes, I’m alright. I shall head back home as it is getting late!” Hardy was feeling empty ever since he got rejected by Natasya. It was pointless for him to linger around and his mind had clearly gone haywire. He immediately excused himself to return as he needed to gather his thoughts.
Talitha did not ask him to stay as she was also feeling tired after spending the entire day with Hardy. She accompanied him to the door and kissed him goodbye. However, Hardy’s gaze was fixated at Natasya’s bedroom door.
Talitha had noticed his unusual gaze and was feeling confused but did not think much about it.
