Hearing Michael’s name, Abbie pulled away from the kiss to hold her head in pain and rolled around on the sofa.
“Abbie!” Michael immediately tried to comfort her, but she was in too much pain and overturned the fruit plates and alcohol on the table onto the floor.
“Abbie!” He held her in his arms to comfort her, while calling out, “Help! Somebody help, please!”
“Mr. Davis!” A security guard pushed the door open when he heard his voice and was shocked to see the state they were in, “What’s wrong with Miss Clark? Let’s send her to the hospital immediately!”
Michael’s eyes were full of rage, “I can send her to the hospital myself. Immediately find the person who was screaming my name at the top of his lungs in the corridor just now!”
“Yes!” He rushed out hurriedly to look for the said person while Abbie continued to scream in pain. Michael could care less about everything else and immediately got up to send her to the hospital.
When they reached the entrance of the elevator, the door opened and Richard came out with his hands in his pocket. When he saw Michael and Abbie, he immediately became alert.
“What happened?”
“Someone called out my name on purpose just now in the corridor, and her side effects started acting up!” Michael explained in a hurry.
“Leave her to me!” Richard lunged forward to grab her from Michael’s hands. As he rushed into the elevator, he ordered the two people who followed him, “Go and stop the person who caused trouble! Deal with them immediately!”
Michael followed them in, but Richard pushed him out and said, “Don’t follow me. Follow my subordinates! Just remember to deal with that troublemaker. If anything happens, I’ll take the responsibility!”
Michael watched helplessly as Richard left with Abbie and turned his head. Without saying a word, he took Richard’s men to the other side of the corridor with a fierce gaze.
At the other end of the corridor, a man who was holding a dog was stopped by Climax Space’s security guard. Seeing Michael bring two bodyguards over, the security guard reported, “Mr. Davis, it was him who was shouting outside just now. I asked him about it, and he said that his dog was lost, so he was calling out for it.”
The man looked down guiltily to avoid Michael’s gaze and explained, “My dog was lost, and I didn’t do anything bad. Is it necessary for you to do all this?”
“What are you standing there for? Didn’t you hear what your boss said just now?” Michael muttered through his clenched teeth.
As he finished his sentence, Richard’s bodyguards began to beat the man up. The man did not expect to be beaten up because of this, and he started shouting and howling in pain.
The fierceness in Michael’s gaze did not soften at all, and he took out a cigarette from his pocket while looking at the man’s bloody face. The security guard of Climax Space stepped forward and lit it for him respectfully.
Michael took a puff and stepped on the head of the man who was on the ground and said, “Tell me, who ordered you to call out my name in the corridor!”
“I didn’t do it on purpose… It’s my dog’s name… I…”
“Beat him up again!” Michael took another drag on his cigarette and blew out a smoke ring. His voice was bone-piercingly sharp, and the two bodyguards beat the man mercilessly again. The man’s ribs were broken, and he couldn’t take it any longer, so he finally gave in.
“I’ll tell you! There was this woman just now… She bribed me with some money to shout the name ‘Michael’ over here.”
“How did she look like?”
“She was wearing sunglasses, so I couldn’t really see her face… Ah… I… I was too greedy for money! I don’t know why she ordered me to do so, and I really did everything just for the sake of money!”
In the Howard family’s old estate, William and Valeria took the accessories from the study room and returned to their bedrooms. Without Hayden around, Valeria was completely relaxed, and she started to examine the accessories.
“Wow! This diamond is so big! It probably cost a lot of money, right?”
“This emerald necklace is also very beautiful! And this sapphire one too!”
Although she was used to all kinds of jewelry, she still could not help but exclaim.
William shook his head and said, “Okay, honey, these are all yours. You should put them away and examine them later! I’ll help you prepare the bath now, come with me!”
He spoke as he entered the bathroom while she continued to pick up other pieces of jewelry and admired them. She even wore the jade bracelet on her wrist and said, “Dear, granny’s arm is big as mine. This bracelet fits me just fine!”
“I see. Come here!”
She reluctantly put away the jewelry and went into the bathroom. He had already prepared the bath and said, “My dear wife, let me help you take a bath!”
“No, I don’t need your help! Get out, I’ll wash myself!” She refused.
“You really don’t want my help?”
“Yes, now, leave!” She said as she pushed him away. He reluctantly said, “My dear wife, how can you drive me away like this? Did you forget that we have something important to do?”
“What is it?” She looked up at him.
“You’re not going back on your word, are you? What did you promise me when we were taking a walk in the garden?”
His reminder made her blush, “That… Um… I don’t know how to!”
“You can learn if you don’t know how to! Unless you don’t love me!”
“What logic is that?” She tilted her head to look at him and said, “Honey, I love you so much! But I can’t do it now!”
He held her hand and coaxed her patiently. “I won’t touch you, just figure it out yourself. It’s actually very simple! You’ll get it!”
He held her hand as he spoke and smiled cheekily. She was no fool, so she understood what he was hinting at and blushed furiously.
“Stupid William! I won’t get it!”
“Sweetheart, you’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you? I’ve already made it so obvious… Do you want me to use even more explicit words? I’ll get embarrassed.”
He was so thick-skinned, so it was impossible for him to be embarrassed. She glared at him and said, “Get out of here, if not, I’m going to get mad and punish you!”
He was unwilling to leave, so he tried to reason with her, “My dear wife, let’s talk nicely!”
“No! Leave now, I want to shower!” She said as she pushed him out of the door and locked it.
He stood outside and shook his head as he laughed to himself. His status seemed to have dropped further ever since she got pregnant.
He was about to take a bath in the next room when his cell phone rang. He picked it up and heard Michael’s gloomy voice, “Abbie’s side effects acted up just now!”
