“Stop!” Veronica abruptly interrupted her, “Angel, you can’t talk nonsense like this, This is a big deal. If your grandfather finds out that you’ve been eavesdropping on him, he’ll scold you to death.”
Angel looked at her serious expression and immediately defended herself, “I wasn’t eavesdropping! I just happened to hear it. Besides, I’m only telling you, you won’t snitch on me to grandpa, right?”
“Of course not, but you can’t repeat this behavior in the future, understand?” Veronica warned.
“I won’t, but Mom, I really want to go back and take care of William, but grandpa won’t let me. What should I do?”
“My child, what are you thinking? William is part of the Howard family, and they aren’t just any ordinary family, there are probably many people taking care of him right now. Why would he need you?”
“That’s different, the people in the Howard family probably don’t treat him as well as us. Besides, Natasya keeps on seducing him. Her whole family is suspicious and vicious! I can’t stop worrying about William, what if he fell for their trap again?”
The more she thought about it, the more worried she became, so she couldn’t help but ask Veronica, “Mom, can you help me think of a way?”
She smiled, “Your grandfather’s words are final. If he didn’t allow you to, then there’s nothing else you can do. Unless you can persuade your grandmother.”
“That’s right! I’ll go find grandma and ask her to give grandpa some pressure,” she was enlightened and excitedly went to look for Deborah.
Seeing that she was in such a hurry, Veronica smiled gently, shook her head, and went back to her room.
In the depths of the mountains, Silas went ahead and reached the destination first before Gonzalec and Devon’s men arrived.
Seeing his sudden arrival, Gonzalec’s grandfather was shocked. He thought that something went wrong with his antidote, “You… Why are you here again? Is there a problem with the antidote? I gave you the actual one!”
“It’s not about the antidote, I’m here for something else.”
He observed Silas’ amicable attitude and sighed in relief, “What is it?”
“I’m here to ask about the blood vermin. The person who bought the medicine from you last time wants to continue to plot against my boss and ordered your grandson and his men to come to you immediately. I want to know all the things about the vermin in advance so that we can deal with it.”
“Good Heavens!” He sighed, “The blood vermin is not something to be messed with.”
“Why?” Silas asked.
“It was originally created by a woman in order to keep her lover by her side, so the person who wants to use it has to use their own blood to nourish the vermin. The victim will completely conform to the person who gave them the vermin, and they will do anything to stay by that person’s side, a separation may even result in death!”
Devon’s plan was not only very clever but also very vicious. However, William was a few steps ahead of them, so it would not be so easy for them to turn the tables. Silas’ lips curled up in a cold smile, “That’s so vicious! Is there an antidote for it?”
“Yes, only the person who has nourished the vermin can create the antidote. But why would they even want to create it? After all, that person would end up alone forever, if not they would die from poison.”
“I see,” Silas said with a sneer, “Sir, you can tell all of this to the people who will see you later, and don’t hold any information back. By the way, if they want to buy it, set a ridiculously high price. Then, you can use that money to leave this place and live outside.”
“Aren’t you afraid that they will succeed in planting the vermin? This vermin is very vicious. You don’t know how scary it is…” Gonzalec’s father reminded him again.
Silas laughed and interrupted him, “It’s okay, we’re not afraid. Last time, my boss wasn’t prepared to be plotted. This time, we’re prepared so they don’t have any chance of success.”
“Is that so? Young man, although this vermin is powerful, as long as you remember not to eat anything from the person who gave you the vermin, there will be no problems,” he reminded.
“That’s great! Thank you!” Silas was overjoyed after hearing this, “Sir, please do me a favor. Your grandson will bring someone here to ask for the antidote to the medicine you sold to them. I have a pill here, give it to them as the antidote for 200, 000 dollars.”
“What… what is this antidote? Poison?” He asked in surprise.
“No, it’s just a croton wrapped with some herbs. It won’t be life threatening, but it will upset the victim’s stomach.”
He took the medicine from Silas and couldn’t help but ask curiously, “Since your people are so powerful, why would you give them a chance to plant the vermin? Isn’t it good to bring them to justice directly?”
“No, my boss likes to play around. Besides, those consequences are too light when they have done such vicious and harmful things, so they should at least have a taste of their own karma, right? An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. This is the best revenge against them.”
As Silas and Gonzalec’s grandfather spoke, the dog started barking wildly outside, followed by Gonzalec’s voice, “Hi, Grandpa!”
“They’re fast!” Silas said with a sneer.
“Young man, you can hide upstairs. I’ll go out and have a look.” Silas nodded and said, “Okay, sorry to trouble you!”
Gonzalec’s grandfather then got up to open the door and saw his grandson and Devon’s men standing far away as his dog barked at them crazily.
He tamed the dog and brought them into the house.
Gonzalec and the man explained the purpose of their visit, and his grandfather asked for a high price according to Silas’ plan. Devon’s men were aware that the house was full of poisonous insects, so he did not dare to bargain and paid 500, 000 dollars for the blood vermin and 200, 000 dollars for the antidote.
Gonzalec’s grandfather gave them an extra blood vermin in a locked container along with the instructions on how to use them, while the antidote was given separately.
Since Devon’s men were unfamiliar with vermins, he did not want to stay in the house any longer so he left in a hurry.
After they left, Silas came down from upstairs. He had already listened to the whole conversation, “Thank you, sir!”
“You don’t have to thank me! Speaking of which, I am also in the wrong. If I didn’t owe this to you, I shouldn’t have spread such a vicious medicine to the public.”
“You’re not doing a bad thing, this is for the good. It’s not too late for you to turn over a new leaf,” Silas smiled faintly, “Are you willing to go with me? I can let you live with your son and grandson!”
He shook his head and said, “Thank you for your kindness, but I was born and raised here, so I will stay here till the day I die!”
Since he had many memories here, Silas did not insist to bring him along and left soon after.
