Both father and son hopped into the limousine as they depart from Wolf Group. Hayden frowned and said, “The Floyd family had arranged for Sammuel to protect you. Why would they make such a big fuss out of it?”
“My grandparents must have adored me a lot!” William answered with a grin.
“Sammuel is one of your grandfather’s most trusted men and there must be a reason for him to make such an arrangement.”
“All right, dad. Grandpa and grandma would not hurt me despite whatever reasons, right?”
“Yes, that’s true. However, it doesn’t mean that someone else thinks the same way as them. I’m sure that someone within the Floyd family has leaked your news judging by the car accident during midnight as well as the ambush that you experienced when you were aboard.”
Hayden was confident that there was a mole within the Floyd family. William was shocked and immediately asked, “Dad, are you suspecting anyone?”
“Unfortunately, I have none at the moment,” Hayden shook his head and replied.
William did not press things further but proposed after looking at his watch, “Dad, let’s head to the hospital as I want to visit my wife.”
“You little brat, we shall head home first. Why would I make such a big fuss when we would end up paying a visit to your wife at the hospital? Others would get suspicious about it.”
“That’s easy, have you forgotten that I have lost my memory? You do not believe me and brought me to the hospital for a check-up instead,” William replied confidently.
Lucas chuckled upon hearing William’s proposal and said, “That’s actually a relatively good excuse. Hayden, why don’t you agree about his idea and let him pay Valeria a visit?”
“Alright then, let’s go!” Hayden granted his wish.
Valeria had finished her lunch and was accompanied by the servant to have a walk at the rooftop garden. She murmured while taking a stroll, “Why does time pass so slow? Why isn’t it dark yet?”
The servant knew that she was missing William and reassured her with a smile, “Don’t worry, you can take an afternoon nap after having a stroll. Time would fly quickly and you would then be able to see William soon.”
“You’re right. He came to visit me when I was asleep last night. How about I take a nap now?”
“No, you still need to walk for a bit longer. It would be good for both you and the baby.”
Valeria continued her stroll in the garden and a shadow suddenly flashed through the entrance. Bobby’s voice was heard as he shouted, “Mr. William!”
Valeria immediately looked over and saw William with a smile on his face. She rushed over to him and said, “Honey!”
“Madam Valeria, please slow down!” The servant was extremely worried upon seeing Valeria rushing over to William. She needed to be extra cautious as she was carrying two little babies inside her belly.
William extended his arms and lifted her up. “Sir William, please be gentle towards her! She is still in bad shape, please be careful!”
William obeyed the servant’s instruction and carefully held Valeria in his arms and said, “I’ll hug you back to your hospital ward!”
“Okay!” Valeria reached out and hugged William’s neck like a little girl resting in his arms.
Valeria’s face was blushing upon seeing both Hayden and Lucas at the entrance, “Honey, please put me down.”
“Why? I would want to carry you back like this.” William did not want to let her go.
“But… but Dad is here!” Valeria reminded him in a low-pitched voice.
“He can’t see clearly as he is an old man now. You don’t have to be embarrassed and besides, he has made a move with Lucas.”
Valeria looked up and realized that they had indeed left.
She finally feel relaxed and kissed him gently while hugging against his neck. He chuckled and said, “Sweetheart, did my father do something bad to you? Why are you so afraid of him?”
“No, not at all. He has been very kind to me!”
“Are you sure?” William was not convinced upon seeing Valeria being anxious at the sight of Hayden.
He knew that Hayden was a strict man but it would be foolish to treat someone like Val, who was so gorgeous and adorable the same way as others.
William returned to the ward with Valeria in his arms. She was not in the mood to have her afternoon nap but kept pestering him to talk more about his experience abroad.
He was very patient when it came to Valeria and told her everything that happened. Valeria paid full attention to him as she stared at him with her bright and beautiful eyes.
William was feeling blessed by her gaze and felt her love dearly. They flirted with each other before being disrupted by the servant to remind Valeria about her afternoon nap.
He then tucked her into bed and she closed her eyes while holding his hand.
William patted her gently as if he was putting a child to sleep. However, the servant was feeling nervous as she was afraid that William might not be delicate enough. He might have hurt the children in Valeria’s belly.
William observed the servant’s expression as he patted her to sleep. She didn’t seem to be sick but the servant had been extra cautious and he sensed something bizarre about it.
He then stood up and walked out of the ward after she has drifted into dreamland. Bobby was standing at the door and was patted on the shoulder by William as he said, “Thank you for your effort!”
“It’s my pleasure!”
“What on earth is going on with my wife?” William lowered his voice and asked Bobby.
Bobby hesitated for a moment and replied, “Sir William, it would be wise for Valeria to let you know personally instead of me.”
“I am just curious about her health.”
“Don’t worry, she is doing fine,” Bobby replied.
William frowned as he was feeling confused that she was residing at the hospital despite feeling well. Besides, Hayden had also arranged for the servant to take good care of her. Why would they make such a big fuss out of it?
Bobby refused to come clean to him and he proceeded to test the waters, “Is it something worth celebrating?”
“I have no idea and I’m going to keep quiet about it,” Bobby replied and stepped aside.
He chuckled delightfully out of the blue as he had successfully received a hint from Bobby. “Does it mean that my dear Val is pregnant?” William thought to himself.
“Am I going to be a father soon?” William was lost in his thought.
He turned around and headed back into the ward again and lifted the blanket gently. He caressed her stomach but there was no sign of bulging. He was so excited and kept touching her belly back and forth.
The servant paced towards him and voiced her discontentment, “William, what are you doing?”
He replied with a grin, “Nothing much, I just suddenly have the urge to touch her belly.”
“Stop being silly. We shall not disturb her afternoon nap and leave her alone.” The servant instantly knew that William was aware of the big secret.
She dragged William out of the ward and said, “William, I shall come clean to you for now. If it weren’t for her pregnancy, she would have broken down due to your sudden disappearance. She looks fine now but her body is still in a fragile state and she needs to rest more. She wants to deliver the good news to you personally as your birthday present. You shall act dumb when the time comes, okay?”
“Alright!” William stared at Valeria, who was deeply asleep while feeling guilty towards her.
He gently walked towards the bed once again and gave her a peck on her face. Footsteps emerged from the door and it was Marcus who has arrived.
