After Valeria had breakfast, she was accompanied by the auntie for a walk in the garden. Half an hour later, Marcus arrived.
Since Hayden didn’t allow the Saunders family to enter the hospital, Marcus had to be the one to tell her the news.
Bobby stood at the door of the garden and looked at Valeria and the auntie. He turned his head upon hearing the footsteps and nodded to him.
Marcus patted him on the shoulder and said, “Thank you for your hard work!”
“It’s no big deal! Are you looking for Valeria for something?”
“Yes! I have good news,” He had a bright smile on his face. “I’ll tell her first, then only I’ll tell you.”
After he said that, he walked to Valeria. When the lady saw him approaching them, she stepped aside.
Valeria looked at him who was beaming all over. Ever since William’s accident, she had not seen anyone who was this happy. Her heart beat faster. “Do you have news about William?”
He nodded. “Sit down first and I’ll tell you!”
After she sat down on the chair, he said, “Valeria, William is alive! He’s alive and unscathed!”
“Is this true? God bless us!” She excitedly clasped her hands together and thanked God.
She was so happy. She missed him so much and couldn’t wait to see him. “Marcus, where is he? I want to see him!”
“Please calm down first! I haven’t finished speaking yet. It’s great news that he is still alive and we’re all very happy, but something happened to him.”
“What happened?” She was stunned for a moment. Since he was alive, it was impossible for him to not contact her at all. So it must be true that something must have happened.
“He doesn’t remember you! He has forgotten what happened in the past year.”
“Um…”
“Valeria, are you alright?” He looked at her worriedly.
“It doesn’t matter!” She let out a sigh. It was good news that he was alive! As long as he was alive, she was willing to bear everything.
For her, there was nothing better than him being alive! It wasn’t his fault that he forgot about her, so it wasn’t a big deal.
It didn’t matter for William was hers anyway. She would find a way to make him remember her because as long as he was alive, anything could be done.
“Are you sure?” He was very worried.
“It doesn’t matter! I’m fine! I want to leave the hospital to see him now. Where is he?”
“Valeria, I’m not done yet! Not only does he not remember you, he also winces in pain when he hears your name… That’s why you can’t change anything even if you go to see him now. Also, he’s at his grandfather’s house, and Natasya is there as well. She probably did something to him to make him forget about everything that happened.”
“Natasya, that shameless b*tch! How dare she steal my husband? Let’s see how I’ll deal with her!” The hatred for Natasya in her heart was filled to the brim and she gritted her teeth in anger.
“Don’t worry, we won’t let her off. William knows that she’s up to no good, so he doesn’t take her seriously at all. He’s just pretending to have lost all his memories and is waiting to teach her a lesson. The person we’re worried about right now is you. He gets a headache whenever he hears your name, so you won’t be able to see him before we come up with a solution.”
She was silent for a moment. “Will he just stay there then? What if Natasya has other plans to deal with him? I’m not at ease about that.”
“He will come back. I will discuss with Mr. Saunders on how to make him come back. Now, it’s time to deal with Natasya first. He hasn’t lost his memory completely, so it’s easy for him to handle her. Valeria, you can rest assured as our main worry is that he has forgotten about you. As long as we can get to the bottom of this, it’ll be fine.”
“Does he get a headache when he hears my name or when he sees me? If he only gets it when he hears my name, then we can just not mention it in front of him!”
Marcus understood her eagerness to see him and said, “Valeria, don’t worry. I know you want to see him and Mr. Clark has given me his contact number. Let’s do it this way then, I’ll contact him now and we’ll see what happens, alright?”
She nodded. “Okay. Get in touch with him immediately.”
It was early in the morning in Juxemburg, so it should be nighttime over there. Marcus sent William a message, “Sir William, I’m Marcus. Is it convenient for you to video chat now?”
He replied a while after the message was sent, “Yes!”
They began to video call. Valeria was full of hope as she observed William on screen after the video was connected. He looked a lot thinner, but he was in good spirits.
Looking at him who was perfectly intact, Marcus excitedly greeted him. William said in a low voice, “It’s not too convenient for me right now. Are you all right? Where is Bobby?”
“We’re all fine. We’re just worried about you! Are you alright?”
“I’m fine!” While speaking, he saw Valeria next to Marcus. He was stunned for a moment and asked, “Who is she?”
“William! Don’t you remember me?”
Her voice made him tremble. “You… you’re…”
Why was her voice so familiar? This was the voice of the woman he had dreamed of yesterday noon.
When Valeria finally saw the person who had been on her mind for days, tears rolled down her eyes. “William! I miss you so much! So, so much!”
When seeing her cry, his heart ached all of a sudden and he felt very sad and distressed. He had the urge to hold her in his arms and kiss her tears away.
He didn’t want to make her sad and he didn’t want to see her cry. But he didn’t remember her, so he had no idea what to say. He struggled to mutter out two words, “Don’t cry!”
Marcus was very surprised to see that he was not wincing in pain when he saw Valeria. Didn’t Richard say that he would be in pain when Valeria was mentioned?
But why didn’t he feel pain when he saw her? Was it merely the name that triggered him? If that was the case, it would be much easier to handle.
As Marcus thought to himself, Valeria also guessed that Natasya must have done something to William to make him hate her name.
That b*tch wanted to frame her, but it wasn’t that easy for no one could steal her husband!
She wiped her tears away and said, “Hubby, I am Val, you beloved Val! I’m also the person who loves you the most!”
“Val…” William murmured to himself. His voice was much gentler than usual.
On the side, Marcus also understood what she was doing. “Sir William, she’s Valeria! She’s your most loving person!”
Marcus wouldn’t lie to him, and his intuition wouldn’t lie to him either. He dreamed of her and in his sleep, and he liked her very much. It wasn’t just an ordinary affinity for her.
He wanted his woman to feel loved, and he would never let her suffer.
William raised his hand to touch her face on the screen as if he was helping her wipe her tears, “Don’t cry, be a good girl! I’ll be back soon!”
