Chapter 579 Family Problems

Everyone ate quietly as they adhered to the principle of not speaking while eating.
The upbringing of the Floyd family was very strict. With Fandrey and Deborah around, Angel usually didn’t dare to say a single word while eating at the dining table.
But she couldn’t control herself today. She liked William very much, so she served William with some dishes, “William, try this. This is auntie’s specialty. Oh and this, my absolute favourite!”
Natasya felt uncomfortable upon seeing how Angel treated William. She knew that Angel was the first person he saw when he woke up, so he looked like he favored her a lot.
It would be a big deal if Angel had any intentions towards William. Although the Floyd family would not allow such a thing to happen, she still felt uncomfortable.
She had already regarded William as her boyfriend and was unwilling to see anyone trying to be intimate with him, not even his own cousin.
Angel did not know William’s taste preferences, so she accidentally gave him a dish that he didn’t like. Natasya, on the other hand, inquired about his choice of food very clearly. Seeing this, she immediately said, “He doesn’t like that.”
“How do you know that he doesn’t like it? Maybe it’s because it didn’t taste good previously when he tried?” Angel said.
“I’ve been with him for such a long time, so I know him better,” William looked confused. He acted like he was unaffected by her words, but he felt extremely disgusted by what she had said.
She had been with him for such a long time? Bullsh*t! This woman was obviously lying.
Since she liked acting, he decided to comply with her act so he did not touch the dishes that Angel had picked for him.
When Fandrey and Deborah saw this, they assumed that William did not like this dish. Fandrey frowned and said, “Let William pick which dishes he wants. You should quiet down.”
After being reprimanded by Fandrey in front of outsiders, Angel felt anger bubbling up in her. Natasya was such a cunning fox and if it wasn’t for her, she wouldn’t have been scolded by her grandpa. What the hell was going on here? As the eldest daughter of the Floyd family, she couldn’t stand being bullied by an outsider!
William knew what Angel was thinking about, so he forced himself to eat the food she took for him. He smiled and pat her on the shoulder, “Come on, let’s eat.”
Seeing his gentle smile, her heart was no longer as aggravated as before and she cooled down.
Her cousin was the best! How dare Natasya humiliate her in a place that wasn’t her home! She’d most definitely deal with her sooner or later!
After dinner, William went back to his room with the excuse that he had a headache. While lying in bed, he looked at the moon and stars on the ceiling as he was lost in his thoughts.
For the past few days, after pretending to have lost his memories, he did not discover anything amiss other than Natasya pretending to be his girlfriend.
He was not familiar with the others. Fandrey and Deborah were very concerned about him while his uncle, Callum, had seen him several times, but he always put on a serious face. He looked like the typical boss of a company and spoke with a stern tone.
Callum was probably dissatisfied with his past behavior when he acted like a douche bag and would put on a straight face every time he saw him.
His aunt Veronica, on the other hand, was gentle and kind yet he didn’t have much contact with her. Therefore, he couldn’t tell if there was anything fishy about her.
Angel seemed to be the typical spoilt girl from a rich family. She was impatient and bad-tempered, but that was nothing to William.
He had never seen the others. Fandrey said that he would let him see them when he had completely recovered.
Up until now, the Floyd family was not a threat to him. However, who was the person who hid at the door and eavesdropped on his conversation with Deborah the other day?
He was sure that it was a servant who was eavesdropping, then it definitely would not be Deborah’s servant.
The mansion was only for Callum’s family to live with Fandrey and his wife. It was impossible for Callum to guard against his own mother, and Angel did not look like a scheming person. Then, was the servant Veronica’s?
Or were they arranged by the other relatives? If that was the case, then there was no doubt that the Floyd Family was also as problematic as the Howard family.
Every family had its own problems to deal with and it was a norm for wealthy families to scheme against each other.
As William was thinking, the door was pushed open and Deborah came in.
Seeing that he was not asleep, she closed the door with a bright smile and sat down beside him, “My dear grandson, I suddenly remembered something. I told you so much nonsense, but I forgot that you’ve already grown up so this room is no longer suitable for you. Grandma will give you a new room.”
“No, staying here is fine!” He reached out to hold her hand, “Grandma, please let me use your phone.”
“Oh right, you don’t have a phone yet. I will arrange for someone to buy you the latest mobile phone immediately.”
“No, we can do that later,” He lowered his voice. “Grandma, I’m a little afraid of my girlfriend. She doesn’t allow me to use handphones because I haven’t recovered fully. Just lend your phone to me now and don’t tell her.”
“Why is she so strict about that? How strict will she be on other matters in the future?” She was unhappy upon hearing that, “Don’t be afraid of her, I’m by your side!”
“I know I can count on you, but I think it’s better to be careful. I was injured and lost my memory, so I don’t know who’s good and who’s bad. I will be extra careful in the future, and for now, I’m afraid that those people who injured me will attack me when they know my current situation.”
“Yes! You’re a smart child,” She was very happy that he had thought of this, “This is why your grandfather, uncle, and I hid the news that you were saved. If we don’t find the person who did this to you, we won’t stop worrying. You can just stay here and we will arrange for men to investigate it. If we find the culprit, we’ll deal with him for sure!”
“That’s good. Can I please use your phone? Also, don’t tell my girlfriend or anyone else apart from grandpa that you’re getting me a phone, and arrange for your most trusted servants to do it,” He reminded her.
She handed her phone to him and left, “Okay, I know. I’m not ignorant and I’ve seen situations like these so don’t worry.”
William locked the door and picked up the phone to enter Bobby’s phone number. However, the phone number was no longer available.
He frowned and wondered why Bobby’s number was non-existent already. What happened?
It seemed that he could only contact Marcus, Richard, and Michael, but it was not very safe to use Deborah’s cell phone to contact them. Bobby’s number was only connected to his, so even his grandmother checked, she wouldn’t find anything.
However, Richard, Michael, and Marcus were different. If he contacted them, Deborah would expose his whole memory loss act. So, in order to be safe, he decided not to contact them first and waited for his phone to arrive. He would then decide what to do.
