Chapter 565 High Fever

After Natasya hung up the phone, it hadn’t been an hour when Devon called her again, “William may be saved and sent to the hospital!”
“Is the news reliable?” she asked in reply.
“Yes. When the people that I arranged were visiting the houses along the way, they heard a villager say that he saw Sammuel Hawk, who had returned home from abroad to visit his relatives, hurrying to the hospital. The villagers said that it was very early at the time, and Sammuel was covered in mud.”
This news made her heart beat wildly. She controlled herself and asked, “Were there many people who saw him?”
“No, only one. He was going to go to the river to fish and found Sammuel’s car parked by the river. Then, he realized that there seemed to be someone in his car. However, because Sammuel came back from abroad, he was not familiar with him and didn’t ask about it.”
She immediately reminded Devon, “Dad, let’s silence the villagers immediately to prevent the news from leaking out. I’ll go to the hospital right away to look for them. By the way, it’s not very far right?”
“Yeah, there are only two hospitals in the country. Everything else is a private clinic.”
After hanging up, she ordered the bodyguard who was driving the car, “Go to the hospital right away. Hurry up!”
She quickly arrived at the hospital and found the head of the hospital. She was a person of high status, so the head of the hospital did not dare to neglect her. He immediately began to fetch the information of all the people who were sent to the hospital this morning.
William’s report soon arrived in front of Natasya. The attending doctor reported that he had a high fever and was in a deep coma. The person who sent him said that he needed to be transferred to the hospital to receive treatment in the city. Now the ambulance had left the hospital and gone to the city.
Without any delays, Natasya drove to follow them. Before she left, she told the hospital’s director that this matter must be kept a secret.
Valeria, who was in the van, closed her eyes and rested for a while. Then she sat up and sent a message to Marcus, “I suddenly remembered something. Is it possible that my husband was rescued and sent to the hospital?”
“Miss Brown, we’ve already started searching the hospitals. We’ve checked the nearby hospitals but didn’t find any news of him. We’ve already sent someone to track him down 50 kilometers away. We didn’t find him at the hospital, and the villagers by the river also said that they haven’t seen anyone. Right now, we’re searching even further.” Marcus replied back.
She frowned and asked, “Have Devon’s men been following the rescue team all this time?”
“Yes! All the people he arranged are the government’s people. Do you suspect Devon?”
“Of course, don’t you doubt it? Declan was sent to prison by my husband. For Devon, my husband should be his enemy. What if he takes the opportunity to kill my husband now?”
“Mr. Clark and I have already thought about it. We’ve been on guard and arranged our staff with every department of the search and rescue team that was arranged by Devon.”
“Is that so?” she pondered for a moment. Marcus and Richard had already thought of everything she was worried about. It seemed that they could only continue to wait for news.
The longer she waited, the more unlikely it would be for William to be rescued. Her heart was in suspense. She thought of Hayden, who was sick at the hospital. Everything had been kept a secret from Hayden until now. He must have thought that William was trying to go against him and she wondered how furious he was.
“What’s going on with my father-in-law?”
“He refused to eat and went on a hunger strike in the hospital. He won’t eat until he sees William. From last night till now, he hasn’t even eaten rice or drank water. Andrew and Lucas were trying to think of ways to give him some nutrient fluid, but he was very stubborn. He refused to have an IV injection and was making a fuss in the hospital.”
“If it doesn’t work, then use force on him!” she thought for a while and sent the message.
If something were to happen to Hayden, how would William account for it when he returned?
They could only force him to take the nutrient fluid.
Marcus and Richard didn’t expect Declan and Natasya to cut off their clues.
They searched by the river for another day, but William was still nowhere to be found. Everyone was very tired.
Valeria had lost a lot of weight, and her face was sallow. Richard, Marcus, Archer, and Michael were no better than that either.
They gathered together to discuss the matter, but they still could not find any trace of William. Apart from a piece of clothing, it was as if he had disappeared from this world. No one believed that anything would happen to him. Everyone believed that he was still alive, but where had he gone?
After a short discussion, they decided to conduct a detailed search and investigation of the villages along both sides of the river.
Such a result would take up a lot of time and effort, but it was certainly worth it.
In the City Hospital, William was sent here by Sammuel. His high fever did not get better the whole 200 kilometers’ journey. Sammuel sat in the ambulance with a serious look.
Sammuel had never in his dreams imagined that visiting his relatives would result in him saving William.
Matilda Floyd, who was in her early twenties, had fallen in love with Hayden the moment she saw him.
At that time, Hayden was roughly the same age as Fandrey Floyd and he already had children with his late wife. No matter what, Fandrey wouldn’t agree to give his beautiful daughter to Hayden.
Matilda, on the other hand, was mesmerized by Hayden. She ignored her family’s objections and decided to run away with him.
This matter made Fandrey very angry, and he personally issued an order to expel Matilda from the family.
Though, she didn’t have a good end after marrying Hayden. She died of difficult labor in the hospital one year later.
Her death was a hurtful matter in Fandrey’s heart. No one in the family dared to mention her in the past 20 years or so.
Sammuel had worked for him for more than 20 years, and he knew that he and his wife didn’t really hate Matilda. They were just irritated that she didn’t live up to their expectations. They still missed their daughter after more than 20 years, not to mention that she still had a son.
The moment he saw William, Sammuel recognized him. He had seen him many times abroad.
Seeing William’s appearance, Sammuel was both shocked and scared. Undoubtedly, he had encountered some bad things. Someone must have wanted to hurt him.
He merely carried a trace of luck and sent the photos to Fandrey, hoping that his heart would soften.
Sure enough, when he saw the photo of William and heard from Sammuel that his whole body was covered in wounds, his heart softened.
Wealthy families usually fought with each other, and William looked like he had been framed.
Fandrey’s heart ached to the core. This was his favorite daughter’s son. His grandson! How could he just stand by and watch William got framed without doing anything?
After he told Sammuel to send William to the hospital for emergency treatment, he called his eldest son who was doing business at home. He told him to go to the City Hospital to see William immediately.
