In the Howard family’s estate, William slept soundly with Valeria in his arms after a night of madness.
In the morning, he was awakened by Richard’s phone call. He murmured, “Isn’t it such a sin to wake someone up at this hour?”
Richard laughed on the other side and said, “You haven’t got up? Look at the time! The sun is already up, my god!”
“Isn’t it only seven o’clock?”
“D*mn, William, you’ve gotten lazy. You’re still in bed at seven o’clock.”
“That’s enough. Let’s stop the nonsense. What do you want to tell me?”
“You really are a heartless person. I’m here to tell you some good news. Hardy went to the hospital last night due to gastric hemorrhage.”
“Is that so?” His reaction was calm.
“Aren’t you happy? It wasn’t easy for Marcus and me to mess with him. Why don’t you give us some applause and encouragement.” Richard was not satisfied.
“Okay, I’ll give you a round of applause. But do you know what the consequences will be? He will definitely not let it go so easily.”
“Are you afraid?” Richard did not take it seriously.
“Me? Afraid of him? What a joke!” William sneered.
“So, anyway, since we’re going to get into conflict sooner or later, let’s make the first move and get ahead of them so that they can’t turn the tables.”
“Hardy is not that easy to deal with. Acma Corporation is so rich, so it will be quite tricky. We have to take our time and plan this well,” William looked at Valeria who just woke up with sleepy eyes. “Let’s think of a plan when I’m free. Either we don’t do anything, or we do something to make him lose the power to fight back.”
Richard agreed. “That’s what I was thinking too. Let’s discuss it when you have time. By the way, is your father alright now?”
“Not quite. His mental state is greatly affected, and his body is not doing well either. I can only do what he says now, so I’m somewhat constrained.”

After hanging up, William threw the phone aside to hug Valeria. She wanted to ask him about the call, but he didn’t give her the chance to by sealing her lips with his.
They had entangled with each other on the bed again. If the maids hadn’t knocked on the door and told him that Hayden was waiting for him, he wouldn’t have left the bed.
Valeria’s legs were weak, so he carried her to the bath. Afterward, she came out and put on his oversized shirt. She felt a little resentful and asked, “How can I go out now?”
“It’s simple.” He picked up his phone and called Lucas. “Tell the servants at home that they are on holiday. Apart from cleaning up every day, they don’t need to spend any more time at home. They can come back when Hayden gets out of the hospital.”
Lucas did not dare to disobey him, but he still reminded him, “Sir William, Hayden is urging you. He’s asking why you haven’t gone to the hospital yet.”
“Alright. You can take a break first. I’ll be right downstairs.”
Valeria was pulled downstairs by William and all the servants were gone. Bobby’s car was waiting for them at the entrance. William asked him to take her to the Wolf Group for breakfast and to bring it to the hospital for him. Then, he left with Lucas.
On the way to the hospital, Lucas wore a bitter expression on his face, while William was in a good mood. Seeing that he was safe and sound, Lucas was even more depressed.
“William, are you going to continue to deceive the old man like this? He is not a fool. If he knows that you are deceiving him, the consequences will not be good.”
“Am I not trying to figure it out?”
“William, listen to me, sir has made up his mind. If Savannah was fine, he might have taken a step back. Now that she is gone, he hates Raelyn to death and blames everything on the Saunders family, so he will never agree with you.”
William frowned and asked, “How did my father start to suspect Raelyn? You know the reason, don’t you?”
“I know one thing. The morning of Savannah’s burial, he received a message. I don’t know what it was, but he trembled with anger afterward. I asked him what happened, but he refused to tell me. Then, he suddenly fell ill.”
“Message? Who sent it to him?” William frowned.
“I don’t know,” Lucas shook his head. “I’m guessing that something important must have been mentioned, causing him to break down.”
“That’s for sure! No wonder my dad told me so many things when he woke up. That’s the reason why,” He thought for a moment. “Lucas, can you do me a favor? About my father receiving the message… Please help me get to the bottom of it.”
“Sir, I…”
“This is for my father’s good. Since you are loyal to him, you must get to the bottom of this matter. I don’t want the enemy to make trouble and affect his health anymore, so I must find and get rid of them. Do you understand?”
“I’ll ask around, but he might not necessarily tell me. I can only try my best,” Lucas said.
The car stopped at the hospital parking lot. William got off the car and entered the hall with Lucas. In the hall, they met Paisley, who was waiting for the elevator.
Her face was haggard, and she carried a thermos in her hand. When she saw William, she was visibly stunned.
She was worried about Hardy’s condition, so she didn’t have a good rest all night, and it was impossible for her to dress up as well as she usually did in front of William. It was completely unexpected for her to run into him.
She was not willing to show such a state to William, but she couldn’t ignore him. She took the initiative to greet him, “William, hello!”
“Hello, Ms. Anthony!” Both his tone and gaze were cold. The elevator door opened, and he went straight into the elevator with Lucas, while she followed behind them. His attitude was much colder than before.
She knew the reason deep in her heart, but there was nothing she could do. She forced a smile and asked, “How is Sir Hayden now?”
William didn’t respond as he was busy sending a message on his phone. Seeing that he didn’t have any intention of talking to her, Lucas could only reply, “He’s much better now. Who are you here for, Ms. Anthony?”
“My brother is sick,” She glanced at William sadly, but he was still focused on his phone. It was as if she was transparent to him.
He had just received a message from Valeria on the phone. “Honey, I ate a lot for breakfast, and I’m so full now. I asked Bobby to bring you your favorite soup.”
“Okay. I’m going to my father’s ward soon. I can’t contact you with him watching me… We’ll see each other tonight.”
“Okay, good luck honey. Mwah.” Valeria sent him a kiss, and he responded with a smile and put away his phone.
The elevator stopped and he strode out of the elevator with his long legs. Lucas followed him as he passed the phone in his hand to him.
Paisley followed them out and saw William go to Hayden’s ward without looking at her once. Disappointment filled her heart, but she bit her lip and turned to the other side of the hallway.
