Savannah, with her disheveled hair and pale face, was brought to the Howard family’s old estate by Ashley.
At the door, the bodyguards stopped them from entering. “Sir Hayden is not at home.”
She refused to believe it. “Let me go in and take a look!”
Hayden had already ordered the bodyguards to not let her in. So, they wouldn’t let her do as she pleased. They stopped her and refused to let go so she shouted angrily, “Just you wait!”
Ashley gave her advice, “It must be Hayden’s order, so they won’t let you in. You should start your act right here, right now. I don’t believe that Hayden won’t come out to see you.”
Therefore, Savannah screamed at the door for a while, but the bodyguards closed the door and ignored her. She was exhausted and covered in sweat by then.
During Savannah’s act, Ashley had been watching her in the car. When she saw that no one paid attention to her, a cold smile appeared on her lips. It was needless to say that Hayden wasn’t at home right now.
Now was the best time to go ahead with her plans. Savannah howled and went back to the car. “What should we do now? That d*mned old man isn’t taking me seriously. Why did I waste my time by coming here today?”
“It’s not wasted. He must be at home, or else these bodyguards won’t dare to do this to you. He’s probably in a rage now, so you have to be ruthless. Just do as what we said before.”
“Should I really try to commit suicide? Will something go wrong?”
“No, I’m here. Besides, the bodyguards are also here. They won’t just watch without doing anything. If you make a fuss this way, Hayden will definitely come out to see you.”
Savannah was still a little worried. “What if he still doesn’t care?”
“He will. Think about last night. After watching the video of you committing suicide, he arranged for so many people to look for you all over the city. It is clear that he was distressed about you. No parents can be cruel enough to watch their children die in front of them, no matter how vicious they are. Just listen to me.”
There was a big tree diagonally opposite the villa’s gate. Ashley handed the rope to her and said, “Try hanging yourself on this tree. I’ll keep an eye out for you, and then I’ll save you if I need to.”
Savannah had actually wanted to give up, but she thought that she might as well go big or go home. If Hayden still showed no reaction to her actions, then she would truly give up.
So according to Ashley’s instructions, she tied the rope and hung it on the tree then pretended to commit suicide. Watching her tossing and turning, Ashley got out of the car in a panic and shouted to stop her. “Madam, don’t do that! Someone help!”
As she persuaded Savannah, she tied the knot for her. With Ashley’s help, Savannah was not worried at all. After putting her head in the loop, she said in a hoarse voice. “Dad, I am a disobedient daughter so I’ll leave first. I’ll repay you for the favor of raising me in my next life!”
With her head in the loop, Ashley loosened her grip on the rope. Once she was hung up, Ashley shouted loudly, “Madam committed suicide! Somebody, anybody! Save her please!”
Ashley’s demonstration of the hanging knot looked easy and relaxing, however, it was different when it came to her turn.
The feeling of the rope wrapped around her neck was too uncomfortable. Her feet were dangling in the air, and she couldn’t support herself so she tried her best to grab onto the rope. However, her physical condition didn’t allow her to do so. She was already sick, and she had just cried for a while, so she had no strength at all.
She was hoping that Ashley would help her. Unexpectedly, no matter how much she cried out, Ashley didn’t care about her and just desperately shouted for help below.
Savannah didn’t want to die. She wanted to undo the knot like what Ashley had done. Unfortunately, the knot was not fake, so it was useless no matter how hard she tried.
As she was suspended in midair, she felt her airflow becoming thinner. She opened her mouth wide and stuck out her tongue. When Ashley saw Savannah’s face turning purple, she knew that she was near death and sneered at her.
“You wicked woman, you’ve done so much harm to me until now. It’s finally your turn today. Go to hell!” She lowered her voice and left her to talk to the bodyguards.
“Help, save her quickly! Madam hung herself! I beg you! Her tongue is out and her face has turned blue. Hurry up and save her!”
The bodyguards thought that Savannah was acting so they didn’t take it seriously. When they heard Ashley’s description, they opened the door and went out to check.
The rope tied to Savannah’s neck was cutting into her flesh, and her tongue was hanging out of her mouth. The bodyguards put her down in a flurry. By the time they tried to find her pulse, she was already dead.
Hayden rushed to the police station to look for Andrew, who was giving his testimony, and asked, “Andrew, are you really going to send your father to jail?”
Andrew looked at him and said, “What do you think? You’re not here to plead for leniency on him, are you? In my heart, you’ve always been one of the people I admire the most. If you’re trying to persuade me, I’ll be very disappointed.”
“Well… Andrew, your father does deserve it, but you have to think about the company. How will the media write about your father? This will have a great impact on the company. If our rivals use this opportunity to attack us, we would be at a huge disadvantage.”
“Grandpa, I just want to ask you, is the company more important than family? If someone killed your biological mother, will you not do anything? Will you give up revenge for material benefits?”
Hayden was at a loss for words. Andrew looked at him and said, “Ever since my mother left me, I’ve always suspected that it was him who did this. I was too young and was powerless back then. When I grew up, I never stopped searching for the truth. To tell the truth, I’m even sadder than you. I would rather have Elizabeth do this to me than him, but the truth is right in front of me.”
“He was the one who killed my mother. Elizabeth was just an accomplice, and he was the one who schemed all of this! How could he be so vicious? She was his wife!” Andrew’s eyes were bloodshot as he looked at Hayden.
“My mother is gentle and kind. She has never done anything evil. She married into the Howard family and took care of her husband and son. She was also very obedient to you. If he didn’t like my mother, he could divorce her. Why did he kill her? What did she do wrong?”
Hayden was at a loss for words. He never thought that something like this would happen in his later years. His daughter had been divorced, and his son had been sent to prison. This was a major scandal for him. How was he going to face anyone in the future?
Andrew looked away. “I will never let this go. Charles must go to jail and pay for his vicious crimes. As for everything in the Howard family, I don’t care. I will focus on getting revenge for my mother!”
Hayden opened his mouth, but he couldn’t say a single word. He had nothing to say.
Andrew gathered his emotions and asked, “Grandpa, do you know why he killed my mother?”
“Why?” He asked dryly.
“Because she overheard that Savannah and Charles secretly murdered William’s mother. He was afraid that she would expose the truth, so he killed her.”
