After hanging up, William glanced at Valeria and said sarcastically, “Look at you, when have you become so bad-tempered? You’re even shouting at your dad now? I can’t help but wonder if you will do the same to my dad as well in the future. Where is your sense of respect, Valeria?”
“It’s not like that William, I’m just too angry. It’s just so frustrating that every time they had to cause us trouble.” Valeria didn’t deny, “I wouldn’t dare shout at your dad, though. After all, he looks menacing, and I’m afraid he’ll make me pay if I do.”
“What did you just say? Can you repeat it?” William smirked at Valeria.
At this, Valeria took a step back and stuck out her tongue, “Oops! My bad. I should call him our dad, and I’ll definitely keep that in mind now. It was just a slip of the tongue. I swear, it won’t happen again!”
Then, William got up and strode to the bathroom, not forgetting to nag at Valeria along the way, “Fine, I’ll let you off this time, but if you make the same mistake again in the future, I won’t let it slide easily!”
Valeria muttered, “D*mn you, William! You’re so mean! I’m so pissed now. I’ll just ignore you and talk to Abbie instead.”
She picked up her phone and texted Abbie as she spoke. “Abbie, William’s a bully! He’s even picking on my words now. I’m very upset right now. Quick, please comfort me.”
Usually, Abbie would reply to her message instantly, but this time, Valeria didn’t receive a reply. Valeria felt strange and walked towards the bathroom door and asked, “Honey, Abbie didn’t reply to my message. That’s weird, it’s not even bedtime yet. Is it because her phone is not with her? Or is she drunk?”
William let out a laugh in the bathroom, “Hmm, didn’t you say that you wanted to ignore me?”
“Gosh William, you’re such a jerk! Fine, I’ll never talk to you again. If I do, I’ll admit that I’m stupid.”
“You are stupid anyway.”
“How dare you mock me? You’ll pay for this!” Valeria then raised her phone and looked at William with an evil smile. “I’m going to sell naked portraits of you.”
“I don’t mind, as long as you’re happy. After all, I have nothing to lose. In fact, you’re the one who will suffer. Don’t you mind other women gaping at your husband’s body?”
Of course, Valeria would mind, so she dismissed the idea and continued to text Abbie. Valeria had sent several WhatsApp messages to her, but there was still no reply, so Valeria could not help but begin to worry.
Did something happen to Abbie?
Meanwhile, at the bar, Abbie was drinking with several of her good friends, and one of them brought up Talitha. “Guess what, I met Talitha at the entrance just now. Can’t believe she still has the nerve to hang out here after causing such a ruckus. She was wearing a hot dress and was clinging to Raymond’s arm the whole time. I don’t think Raymond is even paying that much attention to his own sister, is he?”
“Yes I couldn’t agree more. That Talitha thinks she’s better than everyone just because she came from a wealthy family. I ran into her at a boutique earlier today, and she snatched the clothes I’ve already chosen away from me!”
“Seriously? How can she be so arrogant?”
“Yes, I argued with the sales assistant, but Talitha threatened to call her uncle. Saunders Enterprises had invested in that boutique, so what could I do? I’m still pissed about it right now.”
Abbie scoffed as she heard this, “If she was up against me back then, I would give her a slap on the face first. Who does she think she is? Threatening to call her uncle? Hah, she might see herself worthy, but her uncle doesn’t care about her at all. I bet he won’t even lift a finger for her even if she had called him.”
“I didn’t know back then. All I had in mind was that if she had made a fuss and her uncle sided her, then I would be embarrassing myself.”
“Don’t worry. Next time, you should just fight back if she does that again. His uncle has his own daughter to care for, so he wouldn’t have time to care about his so-called precious niece.”
Everyone knew about the relationship between Abbie and Valeria, so if Abbie had dared to say so, it would mean that Talitha was not as important in the Saunders family after all. Just then, someone asked Abbie, “Abbie, Valeria’s party is on the day after tomorrow. Have you picked out a gift for her yet?”
“I haven’t decided yet. I just couldn’t make up my mind. Do you guys have any ideas?”
There were a few suggestions from Abbie’s friends, such as a handbag, jewelry, skincare items, clothes…
Abbie was muddled by all the suggestions, and it made her fret even more. “Forget it, there’s nothing special about all these anyway. I’m going out for some fresh air.”
As she said this, Abbie left the private room and went into the restroom. As soon as she closed the door of a compartment, she heard the sound of heels clicking as someone entered the restroom.
Then, Talitha’s voice rang out. “Didn’t I tell you to make the first move? What’s the matter with you?”
“Your cousin avoided me when I went to sit next to him. I’ve wanted to approach him, but he has already made himself clear. If I get any closer to him, he would probably be disgusted with me.”
“Oh, so you’re expecting him to make a move? I’ve told you, that b*tch Abbie is the only woman that he has on his mind, and he isn’t interested in other women at all. If you don’t go for it now, you will never secure a place in his heart.”
“Is Abbie all he has in his mind? Then what hope do I have? Abbie is better than me in everything!”
“God, look at yourself. What are you even afraid of? What’s so good about Abbie? Not only is she not pretty, but has a bad temper too. If it weren’t for Richard being her brother, she’s just a useless nobody. By the way, I heard from Azalea that she was involved with a lot of random guys abroad, and that she welcomed almost everyone to bed…”
Abbie was deeply infuriated as she heard Talitha’s disgusting words. How could she bear to be slandered like this by Talitha? So, she pulled the door open abruptly and slapped Talitha hard on her face as she bawled at her, “Looks like I need to teach you a lesson today!”
Talitha had never dreamed that she would be heard when she was bad-mouthing Abbie, and now she had to suffer for it as her cheek burned from the slap.
She caressed the side of her face which had gone numb and glared at Abbie. Just then, Abbie’s second slap hit her hard on the other side of her face.
The woman, who was standing next to Talitha, was stunned beyond words. It was only when Abbie yanked Talitha by her hair and shoved her against the sink that she came back to her senses. She cried out in shock and hurried to try to pull Abbie away from Talitha.
Abbie felt the sudden adrenaline rush from the wine she had taken, and her hatred for Talitha, for old and new wrongs, welled up in her. She would make Talitha pay today! However, since her actions were restricted by that woman, she could only drag and pull Talitha’s hair while she kicked her in the legs at the same time.
At that moment, the restroom was filled with screams and curses from the women.
Just then, Raymond had arrived at the scene after being informed of the incident. Inside, Talitha was laying on the ground wailing with her hair disheveled and her face swollen and bruised. On the other hand, Abbie was on her feet with her hands planted on her hips, and she was still kicking Talitha.
She was also cursing at the same time, “How dare you defame me! I’ll kill you, you shameless piece of sh*t!”
Raymond was dumbfounded at the scene in front of him, but he quickly rushed forward to stop Abbie. “Stop it, Abbie! You are going to kill her!”
