William did not expect Raymond, who was drunk, to read his mind. Therefore, he felt awkward that Valeria didn’t understand him. His face darkened when he heard Raymond’s words. “Shut up!”
“Hah! It’s obvious. I’m speechless! How could you be so jealous of them? Besides, Valeria only said a few words to Hardy!” Raymond was brave enough to say this because he was drunk.
Meanwhile, William was enraged. In fact, he would have punched Raymond in the face if the latter was not his brother-in-law! However, Valeria was upset after she heard Raymond criticising William.
“How dare you talk about my husband this way? Urgh! It’s all because of you that we don’t get along with each other! You are an adult, so stop acting so childish!”
Raymond had wanted to take the opportunity to tease William a bit more. However, now that Valeria was complaining about him, he could only shut up obediently.
She held William’s hand to explain, “Honey, this is a misunderstanding. I really didn’t intend to talk to him. However, he knew what happened to Lucian, so I wanted to get some information from him. I won’t do it again, alright?”
Valeria had admitted her mistake, so William did not make things difficult for her. “Look, Hardy is not someone you can provoke. He doesn’t let his enemies go easily, so stay away from him in the future. I’ll settle it any problems that arise then.”
“Got it! This won’t happen again!”
After sending Talitha to the hotel, Paisley returned home while Hardy was drinking tea in the living room. He looked at her and said, “Don’t talk to Talitha in the future!”
“Huh? Why are you even choosing who I can be friends with?” Paisley was unhappy.
However, Hardy looked at her coldly. “I’m not trying to choose your friends. However, your friend is eying me, but I’m not interested in her. Do you understand?”
“What’s wrong with Talitha, though? She is not only the daughter of Devon but also the granddaughter of the Saunders family. She didn’t insult you, did she?” Paisley retorted.
“It doesn’t matter whether she offended me. Anyways, I can choose who I like or dislike, right? If I have to choose who I date based on their status, then there will be so many women I need to pursue, right?”
“That’s not what I meant. I just think that she is much better than Valeria, isn’t she? What’s so good about Valeria? She’s been together with William for a long time, and yet, you’re still thinking about her?”
“It’s none of your business!”
“Why can’t I be concerned about you? I’m your sister! Your future wife will have to get along with me, so can’t I give my opinion about it?”
“Hah. You’re wrong! You’re only my younger sister, so you can’t control my life. Besides, I know what you’re planning! I mean, you nag me for thinking about Valeria, but what about you? Shouldn’t you clearly know that William has no feelings for you?” He retorted.
Paisley was angry from her embarrassment. “No, this is different!”
“What’s the difference? I love Valeria, but I never thought about using crooked ways to own her. In contrast, you have used all your evil means to get him. As a man, I can tell you clearly that your tricks will only make him hate you even more!”
“How do you know that?” Paisley felt extremely upset, and it was as if something was stuck on her throat.
“Don’t you know that he didn’t even look at you tonight? A man won’t act like way if he likes you, which means William is really not interested in you at all and hates you very much!”
Since Hardy had said these words out loud, he didn’t want to stop now. “Alas! You are talented, so why are you embarrassing yourself for a playboy like him?”
“He’s not! Hardy, don’t look down on him. Raymond is right because you’re really worse than William!”
“Really?” He looked at her calmly.
“William is the President of Wolf Group! I have confirmed it from Raymond just now. Thus, you have no reason to look down on him. After all, he is superior to you in terms of his career and his personality!”
“Is that so?” Hardy was disappointed when he learnt of William’s true identity.
In fact, he realised that Valeria did not dump William because the latter was too powerful. Furthermore, she had no interest in him because he was nothing compared to William!
However, he quickly became calm. “I admit it, there are many people in this world that are more powerful than me, and William is one of them. However, this is just the beginning. Who knows? Maybe I’ll catch up with him someday!”
“But Valeria won’t wait for you to be successful, will she? Just give up! Why are you loyal to her when there are so many good girls out there?”
“This is my choice, and I have my own plans. Also, you know that William has never looked your way, and I doubt that will change now. Why don’t you target Andrew and Raymond instead? They are more suitable for you.”
“No!” Paisley refused firmly.
“Alright, if you don’t listen to me, I won’t force you either. However, I have to remind you that Talitha is cunning. If she finds out his identity… Haha! I’m sure that she will take action. Let’s see whether you all are still best friends by then!”
After saying that, he went upstairs. Meanwhile, Paisley sat motionless on the sofa.
She understood what he meant. After all, she knew Talitha’s attitude well, as Talitha had always wanted to hook up with Hardy because of his identity.
Currently, Talitha did not know that William was the Wolf Group’s president, so she continued to look down on him. However, once she knew the truth, would she target William instead of Hardy?
Therefore, Paisley swore that she would make sure that Talitha never found out about this secret!
Besides, she was only using Talitha for her own plans. They were never best friends in the first place!
On the other hand, Elizabeth and Mason began to discuss another plan because their migration plans had failed. They only came up with a solution around midnight.
Thus, Elizabeth only returned home at 1 a. m. After parking her car, she tiptoed upstairs before stopping at the bedroom door to eavesdrop.
However, she could not hear any paints coming from the room. It looked like Charles and Ashley weren’t having sex now!
She let out a sigh of relief and was about to open the door to her room. Suddenly, Charles opened his bedroom door from the inside and glared at her. Then, he gritted his teeth and exclaimed, “You’re finally back!”
