Hardy walked towards Valeria with a smile when he saw her weird expression. He gave her a glass of juice. “Here. Have some juice!”
“Thank you!” Valeria took a sip out of politeness and put it down.
Hardy sat down beside her. “Did you see Ronald and Savannah?”
“Yes!” She nodded. Now that Hardy had brought up Ronald and Savannah, Valeria knew that he had something to tell her.
Her guess was correct. Hardy smiled and said, “They’re totally in love with each other! After the meal, Ronald brought her back to his home and didn’t leave until now.”
What? Did Hardy get someone to follow them? Ronald and Savannah’s relationship had nothing to do with him, so why did he do this? What was he trying to tell her?
She didn’t understand his purpose, so she smiled faintly and said, “Well, being in love is a good thing, right?”
“That’s true, but aren’t you worried, Valeria?”
“Huh? Why would I be worried?” She asked.
Hardy explained further, “You know how mean and shameless both Ronald and Savannah can be. Aren’t you afraid of what they will do?”
In the past, she would have been frightened. Now, her husband was protecting her, so she was not afraid of them. However, she would never tell Hardy the truth.
“Alas! What I can do if I’m worried. I can’t run away from reality, right?”
Hardy smiled and immediately changed the topic. “That’s true. By the way, Valeria, isn’t the middle-aged woman that was with you tonight your mother’s former assistant?”
“Yes!” Valeria was confused why he mentioned Lucian again, so she nodded and gave a brief answer.
There was a hidden meaning in his words. “Cats hide their claws, so you’d better be careful. Don’t trust a person so easily.”
Now, Valeria understood what Hardy was trying to tell her. Did he get someone to follow Lucian too?
He was a smart person because he once reminded her to watch out for Ronald’s evil deeds. Now, he must have noticed what Lucian had done.
She desired to know what he actually knew, so she pretended to be confused, “Mr. Anthony, thank you for reminding me. But she is my mom’s assistant who is very loyal to us. Hence, she doesn’t look like a bad person.”
“Hey… you shouldn’t decide this too early. Anyways, you should be careful. Some people are good at hiding…”
Before he could finish his words, they heard the door being pushed open. It appeared that Talitha was back.
Talitha was jealous when she saw that Hardy and Valeria were whispering to teach each other softly.
Hah! Valeria was such a b*tch could attract men’s attention everywhere. She already had a man, but she still did not forget to hook up with Hardy. Talitha then rushed to them. “Hey! Valeria, you’re here?”
Valeria didn’t want to admit that she was his cousin, so she turned and looked at Talitha briefly before greeting her, “Hello, Miss Anderson!”
This obviously showed that Valeria was trying to distance herself from Talitha, so the latter became angrier. She sat beside Hardy and faked a smile. “Are you alone? Where’s William?”
“He’s coming soon.” Of course, Valeria knew she was jealous. After all, she was practically sticking to Hardy right now, and she treated Valeria like a rival.
However, Valeria was not interested in Hardy, so she immediately took a stand.
Talitha laughed sweetly. “The relationship between you and William is very good. When are you getting engaged?”
“We’re not engaged.” Valeria looked indifferent. They were already married, so why would they bother to get engaged again?
Talitha felt as if she had caught onto something. “Why? Aren’t both of you already staying together? Why haven’t you gotten engaged yet? Does William not want to get engaged?”
She was sure that he wanted to fool around more because attractive appearance, so he did not want to get engaged with Valeria.
Valeria said indifferently, “No, I was the one who didn’t want an engagement as I felt that it was unnecessary.”
“Huh? Why? It is an important matter! You are part of the Saunders family’s now! How could uncle and grandpa allow him to bully you like this?”
“I’m not upset about it, so why did you think that William was bullying me?” Valeria’s gaze was cold as she had enough. How could Talitha be so shameless?
“Haha! We’re family, so you don’t have to pretend anymore. We all know who William is. He’s so fickle… If he dares to bully you, you just complain to uncle and grandpa…”
Before she finished her words, Paisley nudged her. Then, Talitha glanced at her to see that Paisley was looking at the door. She turned and immediately shut her mouth.
William was standing at the door while looking at her with a cold gaze. “Well, hello. How could you badmouth me behind my back? Hmm? Who told you that I was bullying Valeria in the first place?”
Talitha was so embarrassed because she had been in the act! He then walked in slowly and said, “Ah… you’re the secretary’s daughter. Why are you gossiping like a b*tch? Haven’t your parents to tell you to behave well? Should I teach you a lesson instead?”
Her face turned red, and he said calmly, “You should prove your own worth before you want to badmouth others. Besides, if you continue to talk behind others’ backs, you’ll never be successful.”
Talitha was ashamed, and she was blushing out of embarrassment. William had taught her a lesson without saying a foul word, but he had managed to humiliate her!
To ease the awkward atmosphere, Hardy coughed and said, “Hello, Mr. Howard!”
“Hello, Mr. Anthony!” William nodded with a smile and ignored Paisley, who was looking at him eagerly. He then looked at Raymond, whose eyes were closed, and pulled Valeria up. “Let’s go. I’ll send your brother home!”
Raymond suddenly heard William’s voice and opened his eyes to see the latter holding Valeria’s hand. Then, William turned and looked at him with a fake smile before asking, “Can we leave now?”
“Yes!” Raymond was a little scared when he saw him. He immediately stood up unsteadily and walked out. William did not help him and only watched as Raymond knocked into a door.
Valeria got rid of his hand and held Raymond. She opened the door, and Bobby, who was standing at the door, helped her immediately. After that, the four of them left the room.
Talitha was crying while looking at Hardy pitifully, but he just ignored her. “I’m leaving first. The driver will send you home later.”
“Hardy, aren’t you coming with us?”
“No!” Hardy strode away after replying bitterly.
