After finishing breakfast, William sent Valeria to work. When she arrived, she focused on the workload that had piled up because she had been absent for a few days.
Three hours passed in a flash. She stretched her body and felt a little thirsty. When she was just about to grab a drink, she heard a pair of high heels. Suddenly, Abbie’s voice sounded, “Valeria! President Brown!”
Valeria stood up and walked out of the office. Abbie came from the corridor with a bunch of flowers in her arms and smiled as she handed them to her, “Congratulations, Ms. Brown!”
“F*ck you!” Valeria glared at her but still accepted the flowers graciously. “Thank you!”
“Come on, give me a hug!” Abbie gave her another hug. “Finally, you can be lovey-dovey with William, so I don’t have to worry anymore!”
“Let’s talk in my office!” Valeria took Abbie into her office. Abbie then took a look around. “Wow… Not bad! You really look like a boss!”
“Haha! What are you talking about? I’ve always been the boss of this company!” Braelynn came in with two cups of tea and smiled. “Miss Clark, please have some tea!”
“Thank you, President Saunders! It’s very kind of you to pour tea for us!” Abbie looked at her with a smile.
Braelynn was a little embarrassed. “You don’t have to address me like that since we’re close to each other.”
“Okay, I’ll call you Braelynn then! You can call me Abbie!” Abbie was a straightforward person, so Braelynn agreed with a smile.
Abbie took the tea from her and put it on the tea table. After that, she threw her luxury bag on the sofa and sat down. “Valeria, dinner is on me today!
“No, I’ll treat you instead!” Valeria sat opposite her and smiled.
“Don’t worry about it. You can treat me next time. Braelynn, you should come too! How about inviting Raymond and Andrew?”
“Alright!” Valeria didn’t object.
“That’s decided then.” Abbie picked up her phone to send messages to them and Richard. “Richard, it’s my treat, so you should come here too. The person you like will be coming too.”
After Richard replied to her with an ‘ok’ emoji, she switched off her phone. Then, Valeria asked her with a smile, “Who did you ask?”
“Raymond and Andrew. You’ll need to call Marcus and your husband. I am not going to do that.”
“How about Michael?” Valeria retorted.
“What? I’m not familiar with him.” Abbie sneered.
“Huh? You don’t sound okay. Did something happen?” Valeria started to pry.
“Nothing happened. Urgh! Don’t mention this b*stard anymore!” She told Valeria, “The day before yesterday, his mom called and warned me to stay away from him. She also told me that he was going to marry Azalea, so she didn’t want me to get in their way! F*ck! I was so pissed when I heard it!”
Valeria frowned. “Didn’t you scold her in reply?”
“I did! When would I get another chance to do so?” Abbie sneered. “So I told her that her son was old, ugly and poor. He’s a terrible lawyer, why should I date him? Besides, I still have a lot of admirers that are a lot more talented and capable than him!”
Abbie was indeed a savage person. Valeria laughed as she could imagine what had happened. “Well, his mom must be very angry with you.”
“Haha! I can imagine her enraged face now! Michael called me to ask what I did, but I cut his call and blacklisted him immediately!”
She took a sip of tea after saying that and continued, “Well, stop it! I’m here to congratulate you today, so how could you mention him? Urgh! You’re ruining the mood!”
“Okay. We’ll stay away from him in the future.” Valeria supported Abbie. Michael had done shady things, and his mother was troublesome. How could they stay together peacefully?
If William had not told her to speak ill of Michael, she wouldn’t be able to endure it until now. A playboy like him should never dream of being together with Abbie!
They decided to not talk about Michael, so Abbie brought up Elizabeth. “I saw Elizabeth and Mason yesterday when I accompanied my friend to get a visa. Hmm… I thought they were going to set up a company. Why do they need to go overseas?”
Valeria had already forgotten Mason since William loved her so much. Thus, she frowned when Abbie brought him up, and she also felt that this was weird.
“Are you sure they were planning to get a visa to go abroad?”
“Yes! They even want to stay there forever. It’s not a vacation, so it’s strange. How can Elizabeth abandon her husband, Charles, but to go oversea with Mason?”
Valeria also noticed that something was wrong. “Did something happen?”
“I heard that Ashley moved into Charles’s house because of Savannah. Did she become Charles’ favourite, so he kicked Elizabeth out?” Abbie asked again.
“Well, that does sound possible.” Valeria was the one who had brought Ashely and Charles together to disgust Elizabeth. However, she did not expect that Ashley would have the power to drive the latter away.
Why did Elizabeth give up this easily? After all, she had worked up to become Charles’ mistress. Besides, Charles was a playboy, so there had to be a reason why he had decided to favour Ashely the most.
During lunch, Andrew was the first one to arrive. Valeria couldn’t help but ask him about Elizabeth, “Andrew, do you know that Elizabeth is going abroad soon?”
“No. Who did you hear it from?” He asked.
“I told Valeria that I saw Mason and Elizabeth trying to get a visa yesterday,” Abbie repeated. After hearing what she had said, Andrew’s face darkened. “Huh? Mason and Elizabeth are planning to go overseas? That’s weird! I need to ask Uncle William about it.”
As they were talking, William and Michael arrived. Abbie’s face turned cold when she saw Michael. “Urgh! He’s so shameless! Why is he everywhere? Did someone inform him about today’s meeting?”
Needless to say, Michael had come along with William, so Valeria smiled apologetically.
Meanwhile, Michael ignored Abbie’s upset expression as he sat next to her. Then, he smiled and greeted Valeria and her. However, she still ignored him and stood up to change seats with Braelynn.
Michael was upset after seeing her actions, but he quickly recovered.
William was secretly dismayed when he saw how Abbie was treating Michael. Later, he walked to Valeria with a smile and sat down beside her. “What were you guys talking about just now?”
“We’re talking about how Elizabeth and Mason are planning to go abroad. Uncle, do you know about this?” Andrew immediately asked.
“I know, but they won’t be able to leave. Don’t worry!” William reassured him easily.
Andrew always suspected that Charles and Elizabeth were the culprits behind his mother’s death. Thus, if Elizabeth fled abroad, it would be difficult for him to bring her to justice.
William knew what Andrew was thinking, so he added, “I’m sure that there’s a reason behind her sudden decision. So, you should ask your dad about it.”
“Got it. I’ll tell my dad about it.” Andrew understood.
