Raymond was forced to help the kitchen while William was deep in thought.
This was too strange! Did Gavin and Archer rush to his house to cook so that they could please him and Valeria?
Were they going insane?
Valeria then poked him and said softly. “Honey, what are they trying to do? Are they really good at cooking? Would we get food poisoning after that?”
“Well… I’m not sure. But the food I make tastes good, right?”
“Haha! You’re in a whole different league compared to them! I… I think perhaps we should stop them?”
Valeria’s praises did not work on William. “Hmm… why are you praising me? Do you want me to help them?”
“No, I didn’t mean to ask you to do that! I’m just worried that I will get food poisoning after eating their food! If they don’t season the food right, the food will be inedible! So, we’d better prepare it ourselves.” She said deliberately.
William squinted at her. “Are you abandoning me now that your dad is here? Valeria, are you throwing me away because I’m useless?”
“No… No, I wasn’t planning to do that! But, great minds think alike, right?” She grabbed his arm and looked at him with a smile.
“Duh!” William scoffed while Valeria dragged him to the kitchen.
She thought that she would see a messy scene in the kitchen, but to her surprise, everyone was working harmoniously.
Archer and Gavin were professional cooks, and they didn’t look like beginners at all. Meanwhile, Raymond, who was a little unskilled compared to both of them, was helping at the side.
Gavin smiled after he saw them standing outside the kitchen and said. “We decided to split the tasks. By the way, I’ll prepare spicy shrimps, some beef as well as double-cooked pork slices. Also, Archer will prepare some pork belly with mashed garlic and fish with chilli bean sauce.”
These were all Valeria’s favorite dishes! She glanced at William and said, “Honey, shall I make two dishes you like?”
“It’s alright! Our tastes are pretty similar.” He went into the kitchen and asked, “Do you need help?”
“Please help me cut the beef into slices then, William,” Gavin ordered politely.
Archer looked at her with a smile. “Valeria, help me peel the garlic then. Urgh! Your brother is taking such a long time!”
Valeria hesitated for a moment before picking the garlic to peel it. However, she didn’t forget to tease Raymond, “Haha! What have you been doing all these years? You can’t even peel garlic quickly. Look at my husband. There’s nothing that he can’t do!”
Raymond squinted. “Your husband is omnipotent, but I’m still older in terms of seniority compared to him!”
Raymond felt a little cold as William’s eyes darted over, but he still said to him, “Why are you glaring at me? Am I wrong? I’m still your older brother in terms of seniority, right? You’ve tortured me for so many years, so I’ll make sure to get my revenge on you in the future!”
“Hah! I guess that depends on how capable you are.” William didn’t take Raymond’s threats seriously. “Well, since you’re my older brother, shouldn’t you prove your worth? Or else, you’ll feel embarrassed, right?”
Archer and Gavin then laughed. The atmosphere was much more harmonious and warm.
After more than an hour, the delicious dishes were served on the table. William went to his wine cellar to grab a bottle of wine while the rest of them sat down on the table. This was the first time both of their families had sat down for a formal meal. Thus, William poured a cup of wine for both Gavin and Archer before declaring seriously, “I dedicate this toast to both of you!”
Gavin smiled and said, “William, you’re married now, so shouldn’t you address us differently?”
“Yes, you should call them your grandpas! Also, I’m now your older brother!” Raymond was in high spirits.
“What? Are you going to pay him for changing the way he addresses you all?” Valeria replied.
“I will!” Archer said.
William laughed and raised his cup in a serious manner. “Grandpa, let me and Valeria dedicate this toast to you!”
He smiled. “William, I am handing over Valeria to you, so please take care of her! I’m relieved, and I’m extremely happy! Today, we have all gotten together, so let’s drink until we get drunk!”
His words made Archer a little sad as Natalie was still suffering. To her, this was still not a family reunion if she was not here.
Gavin then patted his shoulder when he saw that Archer was feeling down. “It will be fine. Your wish will come true with William’s help.”
Archer looked at William. Then, William nodded to him with a smile before raising his glass to Archer and said, “Dad, here, let’s have a toast!”
Archer was stunned after hearing William’s words. He immediately pushed the sorrowful thoughts to the back of his head and lifted his glass. Then, he clinked his glass with William’s and downed the wine one-shot.
Raymond was excited after William and Valeria dedicating their toasts to both Gavin and Archer. It should be his turn now, so he was looking forward to hearing William admitting that Raymond was his older brother.
However, he never expected them to sit down after toasting Gavin and Archer. He felt offended to see that they did not have any intention of toasting him at all.
He then looked at William. “It’s my turn, isn’t it?”
Valeria spoke before William replied to him. “Hmm… what should we do? Do you have enough money for us?”
“Hey! Don’t look down on me. I’ll give you the money once you admit that I’m your older brother!”
“You’ll probably give me a few dollars anyway! I don’t need them!”
Raymond looked at Gavin and Archer to plead for help, but they pretended not to hear anything and happily served William some food. “William, this is delicious. You should try more of this!”
Raymond felt he had been ignored. He was their grandson by blood! How could they favor an outsider more than him?
While there was warmth and joy in William’s house, Savannah was in such a pathetic state right now!
She turned off her phone and locked herself in her room to sleep until night. After Charles knocked on the door for a long time, she opened it when her face was still haggard.
He looked at her and sighed. “Raelyn was looking for you. She’s already called me more than ten times. Can you revert her a call?”
Savannah knew why Raelyn was looking for her. Without saying a word, she turned before picking up her phone to call Raelyn.
Then, Raelyn answered the phone angrily. “I thought you were dead! Savannah, we’re in such a dire state right now! How can you go missing so suddenly?”
“Hah! What else can I do? Do you know what happened to me last night? Raelyn, stop commenting on my actions and stand in my shoes for once!” Savannah scolded.
“Tell me what happened to you then! I called you all day to find out what happened to you.”
“I fell into your brother’s evil scheme! Argh!” Savannah gritted his teeth. “He and Ronald worked together to trap me. I’ve lost my virginity that I’ve kept for twenty years to that b*stard! They threatened me with videos of Natalie’s death, so how could I possibly fight back against them?”
