Natalie took a few deep breaths to calm down, and she thought of Valeria again.
If Valeria knew that Natalie was such a vicious person, she would be disappointed, right?
At the thought of Valeria looking at her with disbelief and disappointment, Natalie somehow regretted what she had let Lucian and Gonzalec done last night.
However, regret was useless as the incident had already happened.
She walked around worriedly. Suddenly, her phone rang, and it was a call from Lucian. “President Garcia, I think… I think there’s something wrong!”
“Huh? What’s the matter?”
“The police has closed the resort, but there was no news from Gonzalec. This is too strange! Could it be that the police are suspecting him?”
“Is that so?” Natalie asked.
“That’s why I am worried right now. If the police suspects him, it’s going to be terrible. Last night’s plan was very comprehensive, and we made no mistakes. Besides, Gonzalec would only take action if the police find out that we’re behind this. However, they can’t know all of this, right?”
Lucian took a deep breath. “Could it be that Archer noticed something? He’s smart. I’m worried that he’ll suspect us, so it’s better to take the necessary precautions.”
Natalie frowned. “What should we do?”
“You can leave B City for a period of time, and then I’ll settle the rest. By the way, I think Gavin knows about Valeria’s identity, but I still don’t know whether Archer knows it. However, I want to reveal to him to see his reaction. That wicked woman will suffer a lot if he can get Valeria back. Haha! Now that she had lost everything, including her child, she should be going insane, right?”
Natalie was quiet for a while and slowly said, “Didn’t you say that the police are likely to suspect Gonzalec now? What are you going to do if he’s really in trouble?”
“He’ll be fine because he handed over everything to his subordinates. Hence, the police won’t search him as they will bear the responsibility,” Lucian answered affirmatively, “Just in case, even if the police arrest him, he will bear it. I only saved him and allowed him to become the resort’s owner with the condition. Therefore, he will never disclose anything.”
Lucian meant that she was going to let him bear all the responsibilities and finally abandon him.
Natalie felt bad about it. She knew that Gonzalec and Lucian were distant cousins who were not close to each other at all.
However, when she had been with Gonzalec, she found that he was respectful to her. He was also obedient to Lucian, who showed no mercy to him at all. Natalie felt that Lucian was too ruthless as the latter had only taken advantage of Gonzalec.
She had always thought that Lucian was loyal and kind like her, but now, she realized that Lucian was not as simple as she had thought.
She frowned and reminded Lucian, “Do you think you can leave scot-free if they arrest Gonzalec? Why would he hurt Raymond as he doesn’t hate him at all? The only person Archer suspects must be you! You said that Archer is brilliant, so no one can probably hide the truth from him! Can you predict the consequences if he really finds out the relationship between you and Gonzalec?”
Lucian went quiet after hearing Natalie’s words. “If that happens, I will bear all the responsibilities and consequences for my actions.
“But I don’t want any of you to get into trouble! I want everyone to be safe and sound, and you know that, right?”
“Yes, President Garcia. That’s why I made plans earlier. Archer only has Valeria because Raymond is now dead. Maybe he will stop investigating this incident because of Valeria.”
Lucian wanted to take advantage of Valeria to solve the problem so that Archer would stop investigating this incident. However, Natalie felt upset when she thought of this.
“Do you think that she would do nothing after Archer accepts Valeria as his daughter now that Raymond is dead? How could she let Valeria go when she actually treated me viciously back then? Hah! Are you saying that you want me to send Valeria into the danger?”
“Look… we have no other choice! The b*tch must have known about Valeria’s identity because Gavin is approaching Valeria. Even if you don’t let Archer accept her, that b*tch will still harm her. Thus, I suspect that the person who sneaked into the resort last night is her subordinate.”
“Hah! If you were this suspicious, why didn’t you tell me last night?” Natalie suddenly raised her voice.
“Because I didn’t want you to worry! Moreover, I have planned everything well, so Valeria will be safe. President Garcia, please take it easy. I’ll never hurt both of you, even if I die.”
Natalie was uneasy. She tried her best to control her emotions, and her voice became calm. “Alright, I understand. You may proceed with your plans then!”
After hanging up the phone, Natalie kept pacing in the room. There was something wrong because she was not a fool. Lucian had to be planning something!
Since she had no choice, she had to pretend that she was dead because she trusted Lucian. However, now she realized that Lucian might have changed. Thus, she felt that she was in danger.
Now that she had cut off contact with other people, Lucian handled everything in her stead. If Lucian was unfaithful to her, she would be in danger!
What should she do right now? She had to find a way to deal with all the possible crises.
Did she need to tell Valeria that she was alive? It was an important matter. Valeria was always a naive person, so Natalia was unsure if Valeria could keep calm because she was with William now.
She felt as if she was in danger when she first met with William last night. Thus, she had to think carefully.
As she thought about it, her phone rang. It was a message coming. “President Garcia, I’m William. Are you free now? I want to meet you and talk about Valeria and Raymond!”
Natalie’s face instantly turned pale. How did he know she was still alive and even her cell phone number that she used to connect with others?
This was terrible! Did he know that she had been alive all along? This meant that he had stopped the car and opened the door on purpose!
Obviously, she couldn’t avoid it since he had sent such a message. She then replied, “How do we meet?”
“I’m outside right now. I’ll come in and talk to you if you allow me to.”
He was already outside. She subconsciously replied, “It’s not safe because there are bodyguards outside, right?”
“As long as you allow me to so, I can enter without alarming them.”
“Alright!” Natalie replied a word and walked to the study room.
