SNOW’S POV
“Snow, a delivery was sent to you,” Mom said as soon as I woke up. Grabbing it and opening it, it was flowers and chocolates, with a handwritten note that I know all too well.
It was Eion’s.
Reading it, I smile at what he just said inside the note.
“To my beautiful snow in my winter heart, this is for you. I haven’t forgotten our anniversary.”
this has been his tactic for the past 4 years every time it’s our anniversary. Then, my phone beeped and Eion texted me.
Did you like the flowers and chocolates? That’s just the teaser. We’ll have dinner later at 7pm. Don’t be late. – your strawberry addict robot
I chuckled at the nickname he set on my phone as his caller ID. He seemed to accept that nickname Emma have given years ago.
“Oh, is that from your boyfriend, Sweetie?” Mom teased. “Then be careful. You don’t have to ask for permission from me because I’ll gladly allow you to go have dinner with him, okay?”
I just nodded at that. Wew. Mom really knows everything. She’s so updated with everything going on in my life. I guess I have to be thankful that I’m lucky that she’s my mom who allows me to enjoy life.
Nathan, now eleven years old, appeared from his room. The moment I had returned to this house from graduation, I noticed he had been busy with his phone, almost like he has been texting someone.
My little brother had grown taller now, almost that we’re almost in the same height now. His chubby little cheeks were now gone and his face looked sharper and mature now. I peeked from his shoulders and stared at his phone, “Ooh, so who’s that girl, Nate-nate? Can you tell Snowwy?”
He quickly turned off his phone and walked away from me and yelled, “No, Snow. You and mom are always teasing me. I want to be alone!” With that, he stormed off.
I gaped at the sight. Did Nathan just… yelled at me? I blinked, not believing it.
And of course, it’s not only his appearance that had matured. I was away for four years with few visits once in a while… everything changes…
I turned to mom and joked, “Mom, where the little Nate-Nate? Is that really the Nathan I knew?” I joked and release a deep sigh, “Gosh, I feel so old now.”
Mom just laughed at me, “He’s going through puberty, Let’s just let him.”
Preparing for our dinner, I put on a sleeveless red long dress that cascade down my foot, perfect for my height. I put my hair up and wore some expensive perfume, giving an effort since it’s our fourth anniversary.
It didn’t take long for my escort to arrive at my house but I stopped as I saw Leroy and Dax escorting me to the car. They were both wearing suits and ties.
“Good evening, Ms. Snow Waterstrings.” Greeted Leroy using a formal tone, faking a British accent.
I chuckled at him but looked around and saw Eion wasn’t the one driving. My eyebrows creased in confusion, “Where’s Eion?”
Dax cleared his throat, fixing the tie on his neck. “Your loved one is waiting for you at your dinner, my lady.”
“But where-” Speaking up and asking them again, Leroy put his finger on my hand, silencing me. “No more questions please, my lady. It’s a surprise,”
I sighed, oh well. I guess I just have to go with the flow then. They opened the door and made me hop inside the backseat before we drove away.
I’m surprised Eion “convinced” them to do this. Whatever Eion is planning, I’m sure it would be definitely big and surprising again. Much like our previous anniversaries.
Looking outside the window, I saw that Leroy wasn’t driving to any high fancy restaurants or amusement parks. We were now away from the city.
Now panicking, I turned to Dax, “Are you sure we’re going in the right direction and you’re not kidnapping me? or we’re lost? Because we’re clearly away from the city now…”
Dax blinked at me as if not expecting what I just said, “Why would we kidnap you?”
From the driver’s seat, Leroy agreed, “Well we are technically kidnapping her.”
I gasped, not believing it. “What?”
Leroy shrugged at me, still continuing on driving like it’s not a big deal. “This is the theme of this anniversary. To kidnap you.”
To kidnap me? What is this guy saying now? Dax and Leroy did not say anything afterward and before I knew it, Leroy stopped the car into a river where it was bustling with cruise ships and captains yelling.
I looked at Leroy disbelievingly, “No way!” Is this really Eion’s idea? This is very unusual…
I can’t help but laugh everything off. “What are you going to do now? Murder me and push me here?” I joked.
“We will if you keep on asking us to murder you. It’s quite easy.” At this, Leroy was glaring at the dark sky and mumbled to himself,” That Eion, I’ll kill him for disturbing my time with Hannah tonight.”
Dax then hit him to wake him up, “Shh, Leroy. Enough arguing with her.” He then turned to me, “I’m sorry, my lady. But please, refrain from asking until you enter the cruise ship.”
Oh, and why are they still calling me my lady? Is that part of the act too? I have so many questions buzzing in my head now, but I inhaled and exhaled first, calming myself down. They opened the door for me to get out of the car and I turned to look at what Dax pointed, “The cruise ship? why would-” I was stopped at the sight.
It was a gigantic cruise ship. And I knew this had been in the news lately, where couples go have dinner inside. I heard it costs millions, why and how the hell Eion afford it again?
Oh right, I always forgot that the guy I’m dating is a rich man. “Oh gosh, no way.” These words were the only thing that came out of my mind.
“Oh yes way. Now that our job here is done, we’ll just make sure you enter that.” Leroy said, nodding at me and motioning for me to go there.
Walking slowly towards it, I couldn’t help but saw the path to the cruise ship was covered with roses. Dax motioned for me to enter and I gulped before going in.
Entering it, I saw Leroy and Dax wishing me good luck before the door closed. It felt warmer inside than the chilly night outside, and it felt so relaxing.
Suddenly, a man came to escort me. “Good job, Ms. Snow Waterstrngs. You finally made it inside. Now here is a letter you should follow.” Saying that, the man handed me an envelope before disappearing.
Gosh, what the hell is Eion up to? is this really part of his surprises now?
Still full of doubts, I decided to scan my eyes around my surroundings now. Everything was lit up with lights, candles, and roses as the smell of roses was everywhere. opening the envelope, there was a paper filled with a note inside. A letter, it was in Eion’s handwriting.
Or, it’s more like a clue?
“Follow the lights and you’ll be alright. Walk to the path of roses where it will lead you to the next destination.”
Ps. Hello, babe. I know you’re doubting all of this right now but yes, I planned this all. All I want is for you to cooperate.
P. S. S. See the robot beside the door? Get it until you reach the destination.”
I chuckled at this. Really? I only read this in the books and watch this in the movies. And now that I’m experiencing it firsthand, it felt so bizarre. Where did Eion get this idea?
Deciding to play along with his plans, I did as he told me. Getting the toy robot beside the door, I grabbed it and followed the roses. The robot was holding a strawberry in his hands and I burst into laughter, reminded of Eion.
Gosh, whatever Eion is surprising me, I now find it enjoyable.
I continued walking until I reached a dead end. I saw a clue again, an envelope on the floor and I pick it up.
“Hurry to the destination, I’m melting.” and there was a tub of strawberry ice cream beside it. Grabbing it, I followed the path of roses until I saw an empty table with wine.
“Drink me so you can relax.”
Ps. I know you are getting nervous, but relax and enjoy the ride.
Oh, he can see me? I looked around for any security camera but found none. Drinking a bit of wine, I placed it back in its position.
Now what? The roses are only here and it stopped. it’s a dead-end for me. I no longer have clues. “Now what should I do, Eion?” I yelled out loud for him to hear.
Just then, a little boy, almost Nathan’s age wearing a suit came to me. Recognizing that it was Caleb, I smiled at him. “Oh hello, Caleb.”
Gosh, why is Eion involving almost everyone here? I thought he wanted privacy and just the two of us? Anyway, I’m just glad Caleb also agreed to be here.
“Let’s go, Snow.” He said, and I linked my arms to him. We continued walking until Caleb stopped to open the door for me and motioned for me to come inside.
I was still holding the robot and the tub of ice cream in my hands so it was a bit hard for me to move as I have my purse with me.
Entering it, I was greeted with a very relaxing and romantic ambiance. The night sky above us was clearly seen as the stars illuminate us. Candlelights and roses were almost everywhere, A few waiters were standing beside but that’s not what caught my attention the most.
I saw the face of a certain robot smiling at me, standing by a table prepared in the middle with two chairs placed across each other. The smug look on his face was present as he stared at me.
“Hello there, beautiful.” Eion greeted, reaching out his hand for me to accept.
I held it and smiled at him, “Hey handsome robot.”
Seeing me struggling a bit with the tub of ice cream and robot in my hand, he said, “Put that robot and ice cream on the table.”
I did as he told and before I knew it, he made me sit on the chair and commented, “You look beautiful, tonight, babe.”
“You look handsome too, babe.” I replied, then looked around at the setting, “What’s this idea about?”
He shrugged, acting as if it’s the most normal thing in the world. “What? Did I surprise you that much?”
I pretended to think of that for a moment before saying, “Well, yeah… it was amazing I guess.”
The smirk on his lips extended, “Then brace yourself. We’re still not reaching half of it.” He winked, then looked at the sky and sighed in relief, “Good thing it’s not raining tonight… just our luck.”
“Then, shall we eat?” Just then, the waiter came to serve us our food and we ate our dinner, raising our glass of wine.
We then ate the strawberry ice cream I placed earlier on the table and watched as the night sky above us witness everything.
Just then, Eion stopped and stood up. A waiter gave him a guitar and he cleared his throat.
“I never sing, Snow, but for tonight, it’s only you and me. I’ll sing for you.”
