Finding the robot again

With sullen faces, as though disappointed in something, they nodded their heads no simultaneously. “Unfortunately, nope, we are serious”
“Time is running.” Hannah raised her watch, “Now 19 minutes and thirty seconds.” She said, I looked at her dumbfoundedly. She smirked, “Twenty-nine seconds, Twenty-eight seconds, Twenty-seven se-”
“You’re kidding!” I jumped from my bed. “All of you, leave now! I gotta prepare!”
They laughed at my reaction, got their bags from the door, and opened it. One by one they left. “Pack things good for four days or so… you never know, the Philippines has a lot of beaches and stuff maybe we’ll-”
“Yeah right. Now go!”
The fools even bothered to wave at me. “Good luck!”
Emma turned one last time to flash me an evil smirk, “We’ll leave you if you don’t make it in time.” She said in a low voice as she flashed a naughty wink at me.
Geez. Thanks for the pressure guys.
Once they were finally completely left, I didn’t waste a minute as I raced to the bathroom and did my morning routine for five minutes, all dressed and showered.
I packed for ten minutes, checked my things for another five minutes, and was about to eat when they dragged me out. “We will be left by plane! Eat that on our way!”
In the end, only an apple was the only thing I had managed to grab. We drove in Luke’s car and arrived an hour later at the airport, with the usual morning traffic.
“At least we have five minutes!”
Luke exclaimed. We all sighed in relief. I glanced at the squad and saw them panting like a dog, Emma’s and Hannah’s face all over the place while the boys looked worse as though they were run over by a truck.
It was like a storm came and paid a visit to their hair, and a tsunami washed over them with their jacket drenched in sweat. It’s still morning but our faces are haggard already.
Luke dialed someone on his phone and pressed it to his ear. “Where are you man?….. Okay, have a great flight!” With a grin on his face, he turned to us and exclaimed happily, “Let’s go!”
Together, all six of us raced towards our assigned plane with our suitcases in our hands.
“Let’s find Eion!”
Each of us looked for him, our eyes scanning around the crowd. A lot of people came and rushed, making it hard to find a person, let alone a hard-headed robot.
I looked through the people who were about to go to the lady who was calling passengers, squinting my eyes, and letting my eyes slowly trail to each and every person present when I spotted a jet black hair from among the crowd, “There he is!” I pointed.
We walked discreetly while hurrying, showcasing our own style of ninja skills. We went ahead to the person. When I was the only one who managed to reach him, I prepared my grin and poked him in the shoulder since he was facing away from me.
“What?”
The person turned around, a frown on his face. I gasped, realizing it was a different person. I smiled nervously and apologized. I quickly dashed off back towards the squad.
“What is it? Did you get Eion?” Hannah asked. I shook my head no as I scrunch my face in disappointment.
“All passengers boarding the A plane, please proceed now to the area. Again, all passengers boarding the A plane, please proceed now to the area.” A voice of a lady announced through the loudspeakers.
Luke looked around nervously, “Can you spot him again?”
We scanned our eyes, the crowd now went as a lot of passengers had already boarded inside, with us and only a few left waiting outside and just near the entryway.
“Attention to the passengers of A plane, you only have two minutes left.”
We looked at each other, each searching for an answer, torn between the choices. I dropped my eyes to the ground and sighed heavily. “Let’s just go.”
“But Uncle Adam said he booked as with him,”
“Yes, but we will be left by the plane,” I interjected. With disappointed looks on their faces, we now entered the plane entryway.
I looked at my assigned seat and frowned when a person was occupying it already.
I walked towards it and asked a woman in her thirties, “Miss? Uhm… this seat is…” I trailed off.
She gasped, “Oh it is? I’m sorry… you can sit in my seat.” She offered. My eyebrows creased. “But miss, my friends are here, I don’t want to be away with them so could you please?” I asked, glancing at the squad who was now sitting comfortably.
Luke caught my eyes and motioned for me to sit on his lap. I gagged, scrunching my nose in disgust.
“I just…” The woman spoke up, making me turn to look at her, “don’t want to sit in my assigned seat.”
“Why, miss?”
I was cut off by an announcement. “Attention to all passengers, we are now about to take off. Please secure your seatbelts and refrain from standing. Thank you.”
A robotic voice said from the speakers. I panicked, glancing around the plane, to see everyone was comfortable in their seats, looking at me. But it seems like it’s now full. Where could I sit? On the floor?
A lady flight attendant in her twenties or so came to me, “Miss, I suggest you take your seat now.”
“But my seat is-”
“Miss, please.” She cut me off. I glanced at the woman who took my seat, guess I don’t have to make it a big deal then.
“Fine.” I huffed. The woman I was talking to gave me the paper which contains the number of her assigned seat, thanking me.
Oh, shush, if I’m in the mood and not in a rush, I could make it a big deal and argue.
I walked towards the seat who was in the back. Checking again to see if I’m right for the paper I held, I took a look at the seat. The seat of the plane only contained two, and my seat was on the right.
It was occupied, or rather, a bag was occupying it. I look at the sleeping person whose face was covered in a black cap beside it, sitting just beside the window.
But I could see this sleeping person was a guy. Never mind, I just have to remove this bag. Maybe it’s the reason why that woman switched seats with me.
Grabbing the big black travel backpack, I placed it on top of us in the compartment and made myself comfortable in my seat.
Just in time, the plane moved and I was hardly jerked towards my left, bumping the sleeping person. I froze, glancing to see if he was awake, and sighed in relief when he wasn’t.
Slowly, the plane moved upwards, and dragged our souls out, and flew to the air, as though leaving our souls to the ground.
I tried to lean towards the window to see the clouds and the bright sky. I gawk at the sight, even though I’m not comfortable with the sleeping guy blocking my view.
Psh, if only I was seated just at the window, I would have always admired the skies. Later, I’ll make sure later I will ask him to switch seats with me, he’s just wasting his time and not even admiring the view, such a waste.
I fell asleep since I didn’t get enough sleep last night. When I woke up, The clear blue sky was so bright. The sun is out since it’s in the quarter to noon already. It will be a ten-hour trip, as I recall Luke said. Then the flight started earlier at nine in the morning. I’m sure we’ll arrive just in time for dinner.
The plane moved a little, and the sleeping guy’s head fell on my shoulders and leaned on me. I frowned, trying to reach his head, and removed it away since it’s so heavy.
Failing, I just let him and I pulled out the little notebook I had brought with me and drew random stuff.
I look outside the window to base the sky and the sea for my drawings, just as painters and artists do.
I drew and drew and looked up and again for a few times now, ahead blocking my view. I stopped. That guy! I clenched my hand, claiming myself.
Hmm… He’s asleep, so maybe I can just slowly move his head?
Reaching out, I discreetly reached to his head when the guy spoke, “Touch my head and I’ll kill you.”
