EPISODE SEVENTY EIGHT
THEME: A silver fur
MOON STONE FORTRESS
‘You wouldn’t believe it Rosa. But I must say it’s like one of the best moments of my life. I was scared and relieved at the same time.’ Jaylen said.
Jaylen dumped himself into the bed taking in the warmth it offered. For the first time since he arrived at the fortress. It finally felt like an actual home. He would have never imagined Jayden making small talks with him let to talk of making jokes. It felt really good and fulfilling.
He couldn’t keep it to himself and thought to call Rosalyn. Jaylen could have called Lorelei instead, however she wouldn’t understand how hard it had been for him the past years. Unlike Rosalyn who had almost become a part and parcel of his life.
‘You don’t say!’ Rosalyn exclaimed on the other end.
Sitting up again, feeling extremely restless and happy. Jaylen let out a chuckle. ‘You should have seen how our parents faces glowing so much. It shows how much they have been waiting for this to happen. More importantly, dad witnessed it. I feel really elated right now Rosa.’
‘I can really understand how you feel. It’s almost like a dream come true.’ Rosalyn said.
‘Need I also tell you, that my brother seems to have picked an interest in you.’ Jaylen wiggled his brow forgetting Rosalyn isn’t in the room.
A gasp escaped Rosalyn’s lips. ‘I would like if you stop playing around.’
Jaylen let out a loud laugh. ‘If you think I am messing with you ask Granny. She was practically telling him to back off knowing how flirtatious Jayden is.’
Speechless and uncertain of what to say Rosalyn cackled almost choking. ‘Can we change the topic please?’
‘Is it just me or you are blushing deep red right now Rosa?’ He taunted.
Rosa cleared her throat on the other end. ‘I would have you know that it’s wrong to invade people’s private moments.’
Jaylen snorted. ‘Well I doubt if that works for me when it comes to you.’
Rosalyn let out a loud laugh. ‘Oh please get away from me!’
They both talked randomly for a while before Jaylen hung up the call. He had gone off the phone before remembering that he wanted to talk to Rosalyn about the strange feelings he has been experiencing lately. But Jaylen thought against it, feeling he would call her some other time.
Taking a deep breath, Jaylen walked to the window with his eyes catching sight of the night beauty and the moon looking awe stricken on the lake. He felt the urge to spend some nice time underneath the moon.
Heading out of his room, Jaylen made way for the lake but he changed his mind and he headed directly into the woods. He pulled off his clothing and made a shift almost immediately. It was easier than the last time he had tried shifting. It felt good as his wolf’s paws patted the soil feeling every inch of it within himself.
Jaylen lifted up his heavy self and his wolf ran through the woods at a fast pace and howled into the sky. His howl seemed to shake the whole of the woods as every tree bent towards his direction almost like they were paying homage to him.
All of a sudden Jaylen felt crowded by a number of unfriendly wolves, brandishing their sharp canines to sink it into him. One leap into the air and he landed back to the moist sand with an heavy thud.
It felt so real that Jaylen couldn’t take it in and it caused him to make a shift into his human form almost immediately. Jaylen felt an ache play around his head. He could have sworn they were real and he felt their presence. The visions he had been getting lately feel so close by.
Jaylen wanted to think he might be losing his mind but he is a bit doubtful on who to talk to. When the ache seem persistent, he ran back to the tree he had made the shift as fast as his legs could carry. Without staying longer in the woods, he ran back to the pack house.
Jaylen went straight into the bathroom, he opened the faucet and let the warmth of the water seep into the pores of his skin. Jaylen’s heart thundered at a very fast pace and it scared him. There was no way he could keep mute with the situation he was in and it got scarier as the day passes. At the same time, he tried to blame it on his lack of work to do.
Since he got to the Fortress, there has been minimal work for him to take care of, as Rosalyn has just about everything under control. So he tried to blame everything he had been seeing on his idle mind.
After washing up, he came out of the bathroom and feeling better. He heard his phone ringing. Picking up the phone, Jaylen smiled at the name of the caller.
‘Baby.’ Jaylen cooed into the phone as he sat his butt on the edge of the bed and he laid on his back.
There was a rough movement in the background then Lorelei’s voice came to life. ‘How are you?’
‘Very fine baby. How are you too?’
Lorelei made a strangled noise. ‘Could have been better if Sebastian isn’t hell bent on making my life miserable. He has been teasing me all day.’
Jaylen chuckled. ‘I am sure he is only doing it out of love.’
‘Supporting him now?’
‘I would never do that baby.’
She giggled. ‘How was dinner?’
Jaylen sighed in bliss. ‘To be very honest, it was nice baby. It was a very nice family timeout. I had fun every step of the way.’
Lorelei paused for a moment. ‘Jayden was there too?’
‘Yes. To my surprise, we had no form of disagreement till the end of the dinner.’ He answered.
‘That’s great news baby.’
‘It’s a good thing, yes.’ Jaylen replied as he let out a loud yawn.
‘Awwwnnnnn, my baby is tired.’ Lorelei murmured.
‘I am so sorry baby. I wonder why I am sounding so tired.’
‘It’s okay honey, have a good night rest. Bye.’
‘Bye baby.’
The line went dead, Jaylen stared hard into the ceiling feeling his eyes close slowly. Trying his very best to not have it closed up, he tried to stretch his body out. Hoping he would be able to work on some files on his computer.
However, his body had other plans. Jaylen collapsed into the bed again with his eyes fluttering. The sight of a large number of heads lined up to an endless stop almost like the view of a people bowing to a silver like fur.
Wondering what it could be, Jaylen shut his eyes close and succumbed to the call of nature.
