EPISODE SIXTY EIGHT
THEME: Angry Lorelei
MOON STONE FORTRESS
“I can’t believe I just witnessed that! Like what the hell? I am his girlfriend!” Lorelei blurted as she chugged down her drink almost choking herself.
Hermione rolled her eyes as she was feeling bored. She had been working and thinking of skipping lunch until Lorelei had called and insisted that she came down to the infirmary to hear her rant about her love life. She wished Claire would arrive on time to save her from the talking claws of Lorelei.
Lorelei pouted and folded her hands against her chest. She was feeling betrayed. She had been looking out to spending some quality time with Jaylen and to avoid any situations that might result in them spending less time together she had decided to take an extra hour off after noticing her patient wasn’t due until later.
When Jaylen had told her he was in the premises, Lorelei had wiggled out of her lab coat immediately and had put on some light make up just to look more attractive to him. Only to come outside after doing so much to find him locked in a tight embrace with Juno. She had almost stomped forward wondering who Jaylen held on to like his life depended on it. But Lorelei had a change of mind when she caught sight of the lady being Juno.
“What did he tell you?” Hermione asked.
“He said Juno isn’t feeling too well and he would make it up to me.” Lorelei responded followed by a loud snort.
“Why are you being dramatic then? He didn’t lie about it and he also promised to make it up to you.”
“No!” Lorelei whined. “He is no doctor. There is no need for him to be at their beck and call whenever they ask him too. Days ago it was him running off to meet Rosalyn and now it is Juno.” She argued.
Exhaling in exhaustion, Hermione stared at Lorelei. As much as she wasn’t much of Juno’s fan, she wouldn’t ever wish her any bad. Lorelei was simply acting insensitive which isn’t a new character of hers but it gets really tiring most times.
“Stop being overly dramatic. Jaylen asked you out already and he is your boyfriend so I don’t think you should be worried about Juno getting to him. Just think about it.”
“What did I miss?” Claire breezed into the restaurant they had chosen to meet not too far from the infirmary.
Hermione’s wolf leaped in joy. “Just one quick question please. What is it that you do Claire that makes you late to every of our gathering?”
“You think being a chick is easy.” Claire retorted.
“The last time I checked a Chick wolf is no where near the dictionary and it sounds inappropriate to use.” Hermione fired back.
Slapping her hands on the table, Lorelei heaved. “Can you both pay attention to my case?! I am the one who is heartbroken here.”
Claire and Hermione shared a look, wondering what was going on in their friends’ head.
“Should we not have a conversation anymore just because you are heartbroken?” Claire jested.
Lorelei let out a long shaky breath and she pouted. “Sometimes I wish I had more emotionally attached friends than you both who act so negative to feelings.”
Hermione picked up some fries from her plate. “I can’t be wasting my precious time on such irrelevance.”
“Are you allergic to emotions?” Claire taunted Hermione.
“It’s none of your business. At least I am not crying over a certain person who is love stricken with someone else.” Hermione noted.
Slapping the side of Hermione’s head lightly, Claire laughed. “You really don’t have to be so cold. It’s not healthy.”
Lorelei sighed as she stared at her friends bickering amongst each other. Everything on her mind was the fact that she really can’t stand Juno being in Jaylen’s space. Even though she knows Juno has known him longer than she did but at the same time she wouldn’t want to sound bitchy.
Claire stopped her conversation with Hermione when she noticed Lorelei’s countenance. “Why do you look so sad?” She asked.
“I don’t know why I feel this way. I have never had a man to myself and maybe not someone like Jaylen. At times the thought of not being enough for him comes to my mind.” Lorelei admitted in a soft tone as if she was going to cry.
.
Hermione scoffed. “And there she goes speaking gibberish yet again.”
“Hermione!” Claire rebuked.
“What? Oh sorry.” She spread her arms in surrender when Lorelei glared at her.
Claire placed a hand on Lorelei’s outstretched hands. She exhaled. “I don’t know what you think of my brother, but I need you to know that Jaylen isn’t the type to play around like Jayden. I guess I know why you are acting so paranoid.”
“Jayden sleeps with everything that walks.” Lorelei defended.
“That’s because he has no respect for the female folk. Jaylen is different, this isn’t just because he is my brother. He has always been attentive and protective of everyone he cares about. So you should be glad you have him.” Claire said.
“I still don’t like Juno though and that won’t change a thing.” Lorelei declared.
“Me neither.” Both Claire and Hermione said at the same time.
Laughing together, they began to feast on their already cold lunch after Claire said she would rather have a drink instead. Checking her phone as her message notification came on, Lorelei smiled at the content. Jaylen had dropped another message expressing how sorry he really was and if she would like to hang out with him after she gets off work.
“Someone is smiling.” Hermione said while peeping through Lorelei’s phone.
Claire snickered. “I can only wish you would break that neck of yours for being so nosy.”
“You really want to experience not being able to shift ever again?” Hermione threatened.
“And how would you go about that?” Claire taunted.
Hermione made a swift sudden move towards her. “All I need to do is break that waist of yours into some tiny beautiful pieces. And whooolala you end up on a fucking wheelchair.” She glared towering over Claire who looked unfazed.
Lorelei watched in awe at her two friends. Being a Pi-Wolf Hermione always try to intimidate others most especially Claire. It’s almost like her pastime.
“You both should cut it out.” Lorelei laughed.
“Know your place.” Hermione tapped at Claire’s nose.
“I’m so going to break your neck.” Claire responded as the both of them pulled at each other playfully.
Lorelei chuckled wishing she wouldn’t have to really go back to work, and would sit all evening waiting for Jaylen to get back to her. But there was a mother waiting to welcome her pub into the world.
