No one was saying anything and it was making Alpha Aiden more furious and angry and then he shouted at them, “what’s going on I said”, the crying and mood was very tiring and no one was even telling him what was going on with his mate.
“T-the doctor s-said they can’t do anything else and just have to wait and leave it in the hands of the Moon Goddess”, Aunt Zara stuttered, tears rolling down her face as she explained everything to Alpha Aiden. That news made Alpha Aiden ears ring, he can’t loose his mate, no that’s not happening.
He asked for his mate’s room and when he he was told, he rushed into the place to find the pack doctor and the pack healer who were both there checking on Camille.
He walked over and held his mate hands as a tear left his eyes and rolled down his face.
“I’m sorry Alpha Aiden”, the pack healer said pitifully, “we have done everything but it seems like nothing is working. Something must have been in the knife and she has been beaten brutally”.
“Yes Alpha, we just have to wait and in the meantime we will leave you alone with your mate”, the doctor patted his hand as she and the pack healer left the room, giving Alpha Aiden some time and space with his mate.
Alpha Aiden paced back and forth, his eyes fixed on the bed where his mate lay. Tubes and wires protruded from her body, connecting her to various machines that monitored her vital signs. They were trying different methods to save her but none seemed to work, this was just keeping her and giving her more time. Who knows when it will stop working.
He sat down in a chair next to the bed, taking his mate’s hand in his. It was cold and lifeless, a stark contrast to the warmth he was used to feeling from her. Tears flowed down his face as he thought about all the moments they had shared together. Their first hunt, their first kiss, the day they had pledged to spend the rest of their lives together. All of it was flashing before his eyes as he watched her fight for her life. Everything the passed through together and overcomed.
He leaned in closer, whispering words of love and encouragement to her. “Please, my love,” he said. “Don’t leave me. I can’t live without you. I know you can hear me and your strong, you can fight this. Your son would love to see his mum when he comes back, please Camille, fight.” His voice cracked, and he buried his face in her hand, inhaling her scent. It was still there, but faint. Alpha Aiden longed to bury his face in her neck, to feel her soft skin against his, but he couldn’t risk disturbing any of the tubes and wires that kept her alive.
Now he sat alone with his mate, his heart heavy with grief and fear. He didn’t know how he would go on if she didn’t make it. He had always thought that being an alpha meant being strong and unbreakable, but in that moment, he felt anything but. He felt vulnerable, helpless, and utterly alone.
Hours turned into days, and the alpha never left his mate’s side. He slept in a chair next to her bed, eating only when someone from his pack brought him food. He refused to leave her, even for a moment, sometimes they would have to force him to eat or take a shower but aside from that he couldn’t leave her side. He handed the pack duties to Liam for now.
As the days passed, Alpha Aiden spent most of his time at the hospital, sitting by her bedside and praying for her recovery. One morning, as he was holding her hand, she suddenly started shaking and vomiting blood. Alpha Aiden’s heart started pounding with fear and he started screaming for the doctors and help.
The pack doctor and fellow nurses rushed in immediately and asked Alpha Aiden to step aside.
“Step aside now! If you want her to live”, the Pack doctor barked out at Alpha Aiden who wasn’t moving but did at the sound of that.
Then she ordered the nurses to remove the tubes and strap Luna Camille to the bed. She was still shaking non-stop and after she was strapped to the bed, the Pack doctor started checking Luna Camille up and gasps surprised.
“What… what is it?”, Alpha Aiden asked drying his eyes.
“I can’t believe it”, the pack doctor said, still checking on Luna Camille.
Alpha Aiden ran his hand through his hair, eager to hear and know what was happening, “would you fucking tell me already?”.
**And now Back in New Orleans**…
Over the time, Marcellus and his mate whose name was Morgana Le Fay had gotten along and gotten to know each other very well. Marcellus was very glad that he finally found his mate and they both accepted each other making it very exciting. That day when he first saw her, it took him sometime to win her and now they were together. His aunt Nara had suspected it but waited for Aiden to tell her and when he finally did, she chuckled and told him that she already knows.
Everything was going so well until he received the news about his mum. His mate was with him at that time, trying to calm him down. He wanted to go home to be with her as soon as possible. But Morgana urged him to calm down and then suggested he follow her to one of her favourite places in New Orleans. Marcellus didn’t feel like going anywhere but he only did it for his mate whom he has come to love with all his heart.
They got to the place, very quiet and actually nice.
“I love it, it’s actually relaxing”, he turned and smiled to his mate, whose face was suspicious and then he asked, “what’s wrong love?”.
Tears rolled down her face, “I’m so sorry Marcellus, I really do hope you forgive me”, she apologized and then screamed, “Now!!!”.
