CAMILLE’S POV :
I have been running for hours, my chest heaving as I pushed myself through the dense forest. I knew I couldn’t stop, not yet. My former pack was still after me, I’m sure they must be looking for me right now, and I couldn’t let them catch me. I have to keep going, no matter what.
As I ran, I passed tree after tree, dodging branches and leaping over fallen logs. I was getting tired, but I couldn’t let that stop me. I had to keep going, no matter what.
Finally, I reached a clearing and stopped to take a break. I leaned against a tree, gasping for air, still in my wolf form. I closed my wolfy eyes and took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart as we laid on the ground.
But I heard sounds and as I opened my eyes, I saw that I was surrounded. Three rogue wolves stood in front of me, their eyes glinting . They looked a bit bigger than I was but I can also pass as bigger too.
ALPHA AIDEN’S POV :
“Because Camille is his mate” Liam concluded. Everyone in the room, Laila and my mum mostly looked at me in shock at the truth being revealed.
“Hold on, is this really true?” Mum asked wanting to clarify everything.
“Yes mum yes she’s my mate okay” I replied feeling so frustrated.
“Why didn’t you say something when you found out?” Mum asked me.
I turned to her, answering her question, “It’s not as if you would agree, you hated Camille anyways. So what’s the point”.
“Sweetheart that doesn’t matter. You could have just told us that she was your mate” mum argued.
“Do you expect me to believe that mum. That you would actually accept her as your son’s mate?” I demanded an answer angrily as I walked out of the sitting room, going to my office.
It doesn’t even matter if my parents agreed or not, I should have stood by her as my mate.
I entered my office, fully aware that Liam was following me all along. He locked the door as he stepped closer to me and punched me in the first, that was least expected but I deserve it.
“What were you thinking bro?” He asked , his voice laced with disappointment and confusion. I’m sure he was wondering how I could do something like that.
“How long have you known?” Liam questioned as I told him.
“Since you turned fricking 18 and you let her suffer. I can’t believe you right now” he cursed at me.
“I know Liam, I fucked up , I did things wrongly, I did a lot of things that I can’t even start imagining and I lost her Liam. I-i don’t know what to do” I stammered as I sat down on my chair, howling in the pain of our mate leaving and how I will never see her again.
“Why did you do it Aiden? She’s your mate. You should be happy you found her, so many people lost their mate and even haven’t found them but you were privileged to have yours. Why would you? It’s really hard for me to believe you could do something like this Aiden”. I’ve never regretted any I’ve done in my life the way I’m regretting everything I did to Camille.
“You should feel worse Aiden. I love you as a brother but I can’t accept what you did. Your mate as a maid in your house, you replacing her with someone else , do you know how many pain that she has gone through being here?” Liam said slamming his hand on the door, “it’s a good thing she left because that has brought you back to your senses”.
“I’m so sorry, I regret everything, everywhere hurts so bad, I just want her back. I’ll make everything right” I pleaded to no one as my voice cracked.
Liam came over to where I was as he patted my back, ” I can see regret in your eyes but this is a punishment for you so that next time you won’t repeat what you just did and as for Camille, I don’t know if we can ever get her back”.
Back to… CAMILLE’S POV :
I stood tall and fierce, my eyes locked on my three attackers as I faced them. They circled around me, looking for an opening to strike. But I was ready for them, I haven’t trained for years but I have watched and studied wolves that train. This will be a stress free for me hopefully.
With a fierce growl, the first wolf lunged at me. I sidestepped the attack and clamped my jaws down on the back of its neck, crushing its spine. The wolf let out a final yelp and went limp in my jaws.
The other two wolves hesitated for a moment, but then charged at me from both sides. I was quick and agile, spinning around to face them. I swiped at one with my front paw, sending it flying backwards. The other I met with a fierce bite, sinking my teeth deep into its flank and crushing its organs.
With two of my attackers down, I turned my attention to the final wolf. It was larger and looked more experienced than the others, but it was no match for me. I darted in and out, dodging its attacks and striking back with deadly precision.
Finally, with a mighty leap, I landed on the back of the last wolf, sinking my teeth into its neck and ending the fight once and for all.
Panting and covered in blood, I stood victorious. I stood amidst the carnage of the battle, my fur matted with blood and dirt. I had emerged victorious, but the fight had taken its toll on me. I needed to clean myself off and tend to her wounds, though just little scratches that were healing.
