CAMILLE’S POV :
It was time, I got the courage to finally leave this place and a plan.
I woke up before the sun had even risen. I carefully slipped out of the Alpha’s room, not wanting to wake him. I tiptoed down the stairs, my heart beating fast with excitement and fear. As I reached the bottom of the stairs, I saw that there were guards stationed at the door. I knew I would have to be careful if I wanted to get past them unnoticed.
I thought quickly, trying to come up with a plan. Suddenly, I whistled at them and quickly hid where they wouldn’t see me. I took off one of my slippers as I threw it up in the stairs when, the two guards as stupid as they were ran to where the noise had come from. The guards were momentarily distracted, and I took advantage of the moment to dart past them and out the door.
Once outside, I quickly changed into my wolf form Lunaris, it’s been so long we had changed and I’m glad we could, my bet was, since no one has seen Lunaris before, they wouldn’t know it was me and no servant was around now, made it easier to sneak out of the house. Suddenly I could hear the guards shouting behind me as they realized what had happened and gave chase. I ran as fast as I could, my paws pounding against the ground. I was determined to make it to freedom, no matter what it took.
I could hear the guards getting closer, but I didn’t let it slow me down. I pushed myself harder and harder, using all of my strength and speed to outrun them. I needed to hide somewhere to keep them off my back I thought, soon I could see my family’s old house up ahead, and I knew that if I could just make it there, I would be safe.
With a final burst of energy, I reached my old house and checked for how I could open. I looked around until I saw a familiar sign, oh thank you Aunt. I went forward to the place and searched, then I found the key. Quickly I opened the door and got in, locking the door back up. One thing I noticed from this chase was that I’m very fast and I’m grateful.
I looked out the window to see that the guards where still in wolf form, moving about but went back as they caught nothing.
I had no phone or anything, even though I did who would I possibly call. I was already in my human form and walked up to my parents room, maybe my mum clothes could fit me.
As i was about to move, I spotted something, it looked very familiar. It was a sign, I’ve seen it before. I bent down to see it more and I gasped, it was something we used in my family, a secret way to talk, I don’t know how to explain it. I’m sure it was my aunt that wrote this, her name was here and she lived with I and my parents for years too. It’s just cool signs my dad and mum brought up.
I traced and read the signs and finally got to a place where i saw a note and a map.
I opened the note, reading it,
***My baby girl, I’m sorry I couldn’t get you back and protect you but just know I never stopped finding a way. The map in your hand will direct you to a place, it’s a pack and that’s where I will be. I’ll be waiting for you and be careful. Your favourite aunt… Zara**
I quickly looked at the map and went to get some new clothes, thank God I found one. I don’t have time anymore and I need to leave now, I found a bag pack where I packed extra clothes just in case I needed to change again, and took off.
I cross checked the area, the sun was beginning to set slowly, I had to get out of the pack before it fully shows. I ran through the forest quietly and fast, nearing the borders. I spotted two pack warriors there. I guess they are on border duty.
Border duty, they each take turns in keeping the border safe. Maybe two pairs will stay at morning, another set at night. That kinda stuff. I needed to be smart to be able to get pass the border.
Finally I came up with a plan, but it was risky. I have to make it convincing.
As I move more closer to the border, I let out a loud scream and started running towards them at the border, tears streaming down my face. “Help! Someone is trying to kill me! Please, please help me!”
The both of them were taken aback by the sudden commotion. They looked at each other, confused, but then one of them stepped forward and put a hand on my shoulder. “What’s wrong? Who’s trying to kill you?”
I sobbed, “I don’t know, I was just walking from buying something and someone came out of nowhere and started chasing me. I thought they were going to kill me!” I added the buying something so they won’t have to suspect the bag, cause one of them gave me weird looks as he looked at my bag.
They both fell for it as they looked at me, concerned, “Stay here, we’ll go check it out.” And with that, the two of them ran in the direction I had come from, leaving me alone at the border.
I cleaned my eyes and took a deep breath, her heart still racing, well that worked. I didn’t know I had that in me. I knew I had only a few minutes before they would come back and realize that there was no one chasing me. I quickly slipped past the border and into the forest, running as fast as I could, as I changed into my wolf form and used my mouth to hold on to the bag, that’s where the map was inside.
As I ran, I felt finally free of this pack. I didn’t feel guilty for tricking them one bit. They deserve it and more.
