CHAPTER SEVENTY EIGHT

Book:Claimed By The Ruthless Alpha Published:2024-5-31

CAMILLE’S POV :
Well good luck to him and his perfect mate, whatsoever. I went about with what I was here for, what could I possibly clean again in this room. I just dusted a few, arranged few things and sat down in a corner.
Everyone looks so happy and have things to be happy about. I know I have things I can be happy about like Ivy, Miss Clara but that’s not it. That feeling of real happiness with family, not everyday getting belittled and treated like you don’t matter.
Coming to this place for the first time, I thought I will be happy at least, allowed to train some more, have a life but no everything went down the hill to all this.
But I’ll make them regret every single thing they have done to me, all the pain I was caused and the more they are causing, including my so called mate. They will all regret it.
I sat down in the room for some hours before I heard screams downstairs and I quickly rushed down to see what was wrong.
Luna Laila had come back alone and was screaming for someone to get to Beta, guards were off to do what was ordered.
Alpha Aiden’s mother rushed down from her room as she asked Luna Laila what was wrong.
“Group of hunters ma, they followed us and Aiden had to get out of the car to slow them down” I gasped as I heard what she said, ” so I will need the Beta and some warriors to go and fight with him”.
“Luna”, I heard Beta Liam say as he ran into the house quickly and with all seriousness. Luna Laila explained everything to him as he arranged a group of warriors and set out to go help their Alpha.
***Now let’s fast forward backwards to how all these started in the first place**
ALPHA AIDEN’S POV :
I and Laila arrived at the grand ballroom, arm in arm, dressed in our attire. As we entered, we were greeted by the sight of beautifully dressed guests mingling and dancing. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement as we made our way to a well dressed table.
As we settled in, we noticed the humans around us, the humans didn’t notice us though. Soon we stood up as we mingled and danced, enjoying the music and the food. I watched as Laila talked to a few people and danced.
As the night went on, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease, something was wrong and then I spotted some hunters in the ball, their presence known to me. I leaned over to Laila and whispered in her ear, “I spotted some hunters in the ball, it’s time for us to leave.”
Laila nodded in understanding and together, we made our way towards the exit. As we left, I felt a sense of disappointment, I would have stayed a little longer as I enjoyed the fine wine and the view but we can’t risk it.
As we left the ball and got into our car, we moved. The driver started the engine and we began to drive away, but it wasn’t long before I felt I should confirm if anyone was following us, so I rolled the window down and put my head out to notice a car following closely behind us.
I turned to Luna and said, “I think we’re being followed”. She gasped, having a worried look on her face.
As we continued moving, the car following us continued to tail us, getting closer and closer. This group of hunters from the ball had followed us and won’t let go easily. I knew I had to act fast to keep Laila and myself safe and I couldn’t let them know where my Pack is located.
I made a quick decision telling the driver to stop the car.
“What do you think your doing?” Laila screamed in a whispering tone as she held my hand, preventing me from leaving the car.
“I’m going to Slow them down Laila” I told her as I removed my hand from her grip.
“What if they are too much, what if you get hurt?” She asked in a scared tone.
“I can handle a small group now hunters, you can go back and informed my Beta to get back up just in case. Okay don’t worry” I assured her as I stepped out of the car and ordered her to be taken home safely.
I stood tall in front of the hunters’ moving car, my imposing presence enough to make the vehicle screech to a halt. Five hunters stepped out of the car, weapons at the ready. They were clearly intimidated by me, but they were also determined to take me down.
I let out a low growl, my eyes locked onto the hunters. The leader of the group stepped forward, a hunting rifle in hand. “We’re here to take you down,” he said, trying to sound confident.
I didn’t respond, instead I took a step forward, closing the distance between I and the hunters. The leader fired his rifle, but I easily dodged the bullet and lunged forward, taking the leader down with one swift swipe of my hands, were my claws had come out.
The other hunters panicked, firing their weapons wildly at me. But I was too fast, too strong, and too skilled for them. I took out the rest of the hunters one by one, leaving them lying motionless on the ground.
I was about to turn and leave, when an arrow hit my chest and I looked to see it was one of the hunters who was struggling to stay alive that shot it. I walked over to him as snapped his neck.
I was about to pull out the arrow when I noticed it was silver, I already started feeling somehow as I took off to the pack, I didn’t wanna pull it out just in case it might make it worse. I needed a healer.
