Lucas trailed his fingers back to Sia’s hair and continued massaging her. She savored the comfort his company gives her. If it’s possible, she’d want him to stay with her. But it’s only a wish. Wishes that don’t sit well with her to an extent. Of course, she wouldn’t want Lucas to get tangled in the web of this power thirst family.
She wants him free from the drama and shits that has to do with the Monson family and Silas.
“So, he called the police to arrest you and accused you of killing…your late husband?” He asked combing his fingers down her hair.
Sia nudged her head in a nod. “He did. But I didn’t…do it, I swear.” She said defiantly.
Sure enough, many people will believe she actually did that to climb the ladder of success. Danika had once mentioned something about it. Something about the tabloid news saying she might have killed her husband but Sia didn’t read meaning into it. She can’t blame anyone ’cause people can do anything just to become wealthy.
Everyone can doubt her but she wants only one person to believe her. She wants one person to have her back because she didn’t do what she’s accused of.
“I believe you…” Lucas muttered with confidence. Of course, he believes Sia with all his heart. She can never hurt a fly much less kill two human beings.
He doff his fingers off her hair and settled beside her, cupping her cheeks. He leaned in, taking her lips with his mouth. He kissed long and hard, an assurance that she has nothing to fear.
He kissed her, reminding her of his promise to her. He kissed her to promise again that he’ll fight to get her out.
By the time they parted their lips were already swollen. Yet, he kissed her again to eradicate the fear in her eyes.
“I believe you with every drop of blood in my system, baby. Tell me what exactly happened.” He said, voice calm.
Sia released a breath and stared into his coffee-brown eyes. “I was at the hospital with him until dark. Then I decided to leave. To go home and freshen up before coming back for the night shift.”
Lucas tightened his hold on her wrist, looking into her eyes. “I hurtled to the car. But something hit me. And I lost my senses. I became subconscious. Someone pulled me to the back seat. Someone drove the car into the streets. Someone pulled off my clothes. Someone dumped me by the glade. Someone drove my car away leaving me in clothes that barely covered my nude.”
She saw Lucas knit his brows at the confession. He swallowed to contain his irritation.
“It’s a lady but I can’t make her face. I can’t even think otherwise about what was happening. I lay in the glade. I drifted off. I slept in the glade for what felt like an hour before that ‘someone’ returned. That ‘someone’ changed my clothes back. That someone pulled me into my car. That someone dumped me by the roadside. When I woke up in the middle of the night I thought I was driving under influence. I thought it was because of the drink I had with Estrella before coming to the hospital. So, I took it as nothing.”
“I went home. I forgot what happened.” Sia downed her saliva and looked upward, willing her tears not to slip.
Lucas dropped his head between his shoulders, shocked by what Sia said.
He raised his head and his thoughts rushed out in words. “Someone disguised themselves as you.” Sia nodded at his words. “The question is who could have done that?”
Sia slide her hand on his, clenching it. “They have sent me to court. My trials will begin soon.” You can feel the fear in her words. The jitter of her breath and the anger on her face. “I need you to find Mr. Monson’s attorney. He knows my struggle with Silas. I want him to defend me.” She said.
Lucas glided his hands across her cheeks and cupped it, tilting her face upward. “I promise to find him. I’ll get you outta here. You won’t be convicted of a crime you didn’t commit, baby.” He took her mouth again, sucking on it.
Their moment was interrupted when the bailiff barged in and uttered. “Time’s up.”
Sia charged to her feet likewise Lucas. They bored their eyes into each other’s and he nodded. “I’ve got this, baby.”
“Thank you.” Sia mouthed and propelled out of the room with a heavy heart.
Lucas clenched his fist. Ran his hands through his hair. Down his spittle and charged out of the room.
He needs to find the attorney. Soonest.

“She was arrested? No, that can’t be. We need to start hunting for the real video. One that’s not edited.” Mr. Sam, the attorney said when Lucas explained everything to him.
The moment Lucas left the station, he went to Ethan’s and narrated everything to him and Estrella. Without wasting time, they drove to the Monson villa and searched for the attorney’s number through Sia’s phone.
Of course, Lucas already knows her password. So it was an easy hunt. They called the attorney and he invited them over to his place to discuss the urgent matter.
“The problem is, how do we find the original video?” Lucas asked no one in particular.
When they returned to the Monson villa, Michelle told them about the video they played as evidence that Sia killed Monson. That’s the reason the attorney suggests they find the original video and present it as the as the real evidence.
“I don’t know exactly how. But we can’t sit around and watch Mrs. Monson rot for something she’s innocent of.” The attorney reasoned. “Mr. Monson won’t be happy wherever he is. So we need to look around.”
Lucas and the others nod in agreement. Standing up, they took their leave but not without agreeing to give each other heads up on anything they find.
They are back on the road and Ethan is the one driving. Estrella was at the back, sulking. She hated Silas from first time she saw him. Just like love at first sight. Hers is hatred at first sight.
He’s an abuser, a power thirst fool, and a murderer.
“I know he’s the one that killed them both,” Estrella spoke her thoughts aloud, earning Lucas and Ethan’s attention.
“What?” Ethan asked.
“Yes, he is the one who killed them and launched the blame on Sia because she has denied him for long.” She said again. More confidently this time around.
Lucas nod at her words. He remembers Silas’s words the day he threw him out of the villa. That’s the reason he came back. For revenge.
“Fucking hell.” He muttered. “I should have known.” He knitted his fist in a ball out of rage.
He hates Silas too.
He’s evil.
“We need to find the video before she’s been taken to court.” Estrella said, feeling agitated.
