Chapter 136. Sudden Visit

Book:Your Days Are Numbered Mr. CEO Published:2024-5-31

The two weeks trip to Yevpatoriya was a success. It made Lucas and Sia to be more United and more in love with each other. Estrella could tell the difference between the way they doted on each other before they left for the trip and the way they are when they returned.
It was as if the trip was crafted for both of them alone as they were holding and loving each other to the extent that Adriano began making jests of them. Although, Lucas didn’t give a shit about Adriano’s jest.
He just loves Sia and the love is becoming increasingly intoxicating. However, while they were on their way back to the town of Yevpatoriya, heading to their booked hotel, Estrella felt sick which warranted to being rushed to the hospital.
To their greatest shock, the doctor announced that Estrella is two weeks pregnant. So not only did they embark on a cruise trip, they actually returned with good news.
Lucas cracked jokes about Estrella being the one he literally dreamt about. Though Sia doesn’t want to feel pressured or rushed into having a baby with Lucas, she saw how happy he is for Ethan and Estrella and wondered how incredibly joyful he’ll be if perhaps she takes in like her friend.
Since their return two days ago they both have been switching between spending the night in Sia’s villa or Lucas’s and they’ve been buried inside each other all along.
“You don’t need to force it, Sia. If you do, then getting pregnant won’t work.” He’d tell her whenever Sia pushes him to ejaculate inside her.
Sia actually wants to have this baby for him. But she still can’t open up and tell him they had one. On the other hand, Lucas wants to give her time.
Rushing into getting pregnant isn’t at all what he wants. Which is why he always tries to talk Sia out of trying to intentionally get pregnant for him.
Sitting in his office today, Lucas held a meeting with new board members and angel investors. Over time, his company has picked up from the mud. All thanks to Sia. She helped him return all of its lost glory.
Hera and Danika are of course unbeknownst of this progress he has made considering they have been away in England for close to one month now.
The moment they both traveled, Lucas took it as an opportunity and blocked both of them. It’s been wonderful not having them order him around to their content. And it’s been amazing building a relationship with Sia without having to face nitty-gritty troubles from Danika or Hera.
“When are you coming over tonight?” Sia texted him during the meeting.
There’s one policy Lucas has and that is, he doesn’t take calls or fiddle with his phone during meetings.
When the phone buzzed, his intention was to shut it down and home his mind on the presenter who happens to be Grey but the moment he saw it was Sia. He excused his policies aside and quickly texted her back.
“Might be a little late, baby. Have a lot to do here and will visit a friend of mine after work.”
He pulled the phone down driving his attention back to Grey. It has been a long since Lucas last saw Nica and Abbey. Having returned from a trip and with some chocolates and cookies, he made a mental note of visiting them today.
He didn’t get a text back from Sia and sure enough, they’ve built their trust walls strong enough that Sia can’t counter his visiting his friend. Or thinking he wants to cheat on her with someone else.
The meeting ended with the angel investors showering praises on Lucas for his determination in boosting the sales of their products which have now gained immense popularity in the market, outshining their competitors.
Lucas stayed at the office until six p. m. covering up on the things left undone when he went on the trip.
Afterward, he drove down to the orphanage to see the girls.
“Uncle!” Abbey saw Lucas stepping out of his car and rushed toward him, giggling sheepishly. She pulled back and dashed into the house to call Nica.
“It’s been a while, Mr. Lucas.” The chaperone said, inching toward the door with smiles hovering over her face. Lucas sent her smiles in return while handing one of the bags to her.
She welcomed it with open arms and peered inside to see what’s in it. Pulling out of the confectioneries, she studied it.
Pulling her gaze back to his, she asked. “You traveled to Ukraine?”
Lucas inclined his head in a nod and as he was about to speak, he spotted Nica crawling out of the Orphanage as vibrant as always.
She hugged his legs tightly, “Uncle! You finally came.” She hummed. Pulling away, she peered up at him but Lucas quickly dropped to his haunches.
Spearing his fingers through her hair, she leaned in and kissed his cheeks. “You missed me?” He asked.
“Yes, yes! We missed you.” Abbey chimed in as Lucas pulled her in for a hug as well.
“Well, I missed you more. I went to see the ocean. A very huge one. Very blue. And the breeze is comforting.” Lucas said, exaggerating his words.
They are already in winter and Christmas is just around the corner. Nica and Abbey wore the same type of hoodie, a bit oversize.
Their mouths dropped open at Lucas’s words. They began imagining what the ocean would look like in reality.
“It’s very blue?” Nica asked, leaning into Lucas.
“Uh-huh.” He crooned
pulling out his phone, he slides through his gallery in search of the photos he took. “Here are the photos. I wanted to show you.”
The girls exclaimed and snatched his phone, sliding through the pictures and watching in awe the pictures Lucas took.
“You’ll take me there during Christmas, right?” Abbey asked, making Lucas cackle.
“If it’s allowed, then I’ll take you both there.”
Nica’s lips scrunched up in response. “Why won’t they allow you?” She asked, eyes blinking rapidly.
“Because I don’t have legal custody over you.” He replied though the girls didn’t understand what he means.
They just shrugged and diverted their eyes to the bag Lucas was handling them.
“This is what I bought for you.” He said.
Taking the bags, Nica blurted, “From the ocean?”
A laughter erupted from Lucas’s lips at her blurt. “Of course not. But it’s from the country the Ocean is in.”
“Yay! Uncle. Chaperone said we’ll have Halloween in two days. Will you come and watch us?” Nica verbalized, sounding excited.
“Halloween? Of course, will be there.” He promised, earning a sheepish whimper from the happy girls.
Meanwhile, at the Monson villa, Sia just returned from work and was being served dinner in the dining.
She carried Fur and was caressing her hair while Michelle ladled out the food. Michelle’s eyes immediately caught the ring on Sia’s finger. And she instantly knew this isn’t the ring Monson gave her.
“Did you get married while you were away, Mrs. Monson?” She asked, being cautious so as not to anger Sia.
“Married? We weren’t in Vegas, Michelle. How could I have married?” She asked.
“The ring seems new to me…” She jerked her head at the promise ring.
Sia breathed out a laugh and looked at the ring again. “No, Michelle. It’s just a promise ring.”
She let Fur crawl away by the time Michelle finished ladling the food. Sia picked up the fork and began stabbing the bites and scarfing it down.
“Oh, a promise from Mr. Lucas? To love him forever?” Michelle bulged her eyes as the words drove off her lips.
“Well, he’s the one that made me the promise. So the ring is basically a sign that he’ll keep to his promise.” Sia spouted, chewing on the mouthful of veggies.
“He really loves you if he made such promises. I just hope and pray he’s able to fulfill it.” Michelle gushed and Sia grinned.
“Same Michelle. I hope he does keep to his words.” Sia agreed.
No matter how much their love has blossomed and their trust solid, that fear that Lucas might not keep his promise tugs at the back of Sia’s mind. He has disappointed her once and there’s a possibility of him disappointing her again.
Of course, Sia can’t whisper this aloud but the feelings are always there, nagging and disturbing her always.
The fear of being left to suffer again needles her mind.
“So, is he…”
Michelle was interrupted by Mark the security guard who pranced into the dining room, panting hard.
“Mrs. Monson. Silas and the elders are here.” He gushed, breathlessly.
Blood surged to Sia’s veins at the mention of the uninvited visitors. Then it occurred to Sia that Silas hasn’t been in touch since his last visit to this villa when he and Lucas fought.
Now, Silas came with the elders.
Both she and Michelle stood up on impulse, questions running through their mind.
“Where are they?” Sia managed to utter.
“In the foyer, about to walk into the living room.” He said.
Sia gave him and nod and sent him away with a wave of her hand.
Whirling around, Michelle asked. “What could be the problem?”
While Sia was attempting to give a response on what she assumed the issue might be when another servant rushed into the dining through the back door, wheezing for breath.
“Mrs. Monson. A sea of reporters clustered outside the compound.”
These words threw Sia off guard. Her heart dropped into an overdrive.
“What!?” She asked. Michelle gaped.
