Danika regards him from over her shoulder while brushing the loofah, Lucas’s loofah on her body. The white bubbles pasted at her back down her bum and legs.
Lucas didn’t attempt to look down at her body as it irritates him how Danika was able to snake into his apartment and the balls she has to stand in his shower.
“You’re finally back.” She rambled, watching Lucas angrily stomp back to his room. The smile on her face dissipated.
Lucas rounded the room, sending his fingers through his hair as anger coagulate his blood. Danika is the fucking last person he wants to see. She and her mother.
They are the reason he inflicted pains on Sia. Hatred, so strong, and anger so hot is the only thing he feels.
“Why are you giving me a cold look, Lucas?” Danika’s voice startled him, pulling him away from his thoughts. “You should be happy to see me.” She added, stopping right in front of him.
Blowing out a long breath, Lucas hefted his head and bored his eyes into hers. Danika went on her haunches and started pulling on his belt.
“Danika stop!” He roared, his breath bouncing out in frenzy. Danika peered at him from her lashes and scowled.
“Stop? So you could keep giving another woman your cock?” She asked.
Danika is more than convinced that Sia is no more ’cause the media hadn’t spread any news about her survival from the explosion. However, it was Estrella’s idea that Sia’s life should be kept secret to know if there are chances the unknown foe will be caught.
Hence, Danika feels happy knowing the only threat standing between her and Lucas has been snuffed out. Though what Danika couldn’t understand is where Lucas has been these two days.
She has tried to reach him but his cell was off and she had equally been to Ethan’s place only to see the empty house. No smell of him. Nothing.
She stood up after freeing Lucas’s cock and laced it with her palm. “Where have you been, Lucas?” Her voice was muffled and her eyes pierced Lucas.
Gnashing his teeth, Lucas drew back only for Danika to tighten her grip on his cock, making pains shoot through him.
Wincing, Lucas barked. “Get your hands off me, Danika!”
His roaring isn’t strong enough to make Danika flinch, rather she giggled. “You think howling like a wolf will make me stop? For chrissake Lucas! I’ve been looking for you for two days!”
Lucas drew back as her spittle stabbed his cheek.
“I was off okay? Look Danika I’ve a virtual meeting now. I need to set my computer…”
“Not until you tell me where you’ve been.” She demanded.
Exhaling, Lucas cocked his brow, “At my friend’s. Get that?” He howled, paring her hand from his manhood.
Lucas walked over to the balcony and rested his arms on the rail. The night breeze ran across his face, whipping his hair.
“You know I knew everything, Lucas. And that’s the reason I’m longer taking your word.” Danika spoke behind him, sauntering closer to the balcony.
Her evasive words birth Lucas’s curiosity. What is it that she knows that makes her not to take his words again?
The only thing that flashed through his mind is his faking the attack on their supposed wedding day.
Dread washed over Lucas as the thought crossed his mind.
No, the last thing he wants now Is for Danika to find out it was all an act. He still needs them, the Woods family. He needs more favor from Hera to boost his company.
Flipping around, Lucas held his hand in the air, aiming to sprinkle some explanation about that.
“Look, Danika, it’s not what you think it is…it’s…” He mused, stopping midsentence to gather his thoughts together. Truth is he knows not what to say about that.
He wants to say the truth but that truth will negate him from getting what he so desperately wants from Hera and her daughter.
“It’s not what I think it is…really Lucas? You both had sex. You had a wild night and here you’re trying to simmer excuses for your own shit?” Danika barked, earning a pleated forehead from Lucas.
Lucas now knows his thoughts went too far. He wasn’t thinking in the direction as Danika.
He blew out a laden breath and held Danika’s gaze. Though he’s still confused at the slightest about the ‘you both’ and sex she’s referring to.
“What do you mean?” He questioned. A shriek of laughter reverberated from Danika’s mouth.
She clicked her tongue and folded her arms together. “Really? You’re so unbelievable, Lucas.” She said with an exasperated giggle. “You said you went for a meeting, but no. You went to have sex with that slum girl despite being engaged to me?”
Now it’s making sense to Lucas. But he rid off the surprise trickling through his system. How did Danika know about the sex? He wonders. His eyes never left hers.
“You lied the hickey was from the constant scratching of your nape. I should known it’s all a pretense, Lucas. How long have you been seeing each other? How long has this been?” Her howling lanced through the air, slamming Lucas’s eardrum.
“The thing is if you pretended nothing happened between you, What else are you pretending you didn’t do? Tell me?”
Lucas shook his head. He doesn’t want her to continue harboring this suspicion about him, or else she finds out he pretended on their wedding day.
In as much as he’d love to say something, he can’t ’cause words failed him.
He can’t discuss the best moment he’d had with Sia after six years of being apart with Danika.
“You can’t talk which means I’m right. You’re a cheat! You’re a bloody liar! Mummy Hera needs to…”
“Danika no! You can’t tell her.” Lucas interjected. “Look, it’s not what you think. I was inebriated.” He said defensively.
Laughing, Danika backpedaled a step. “Really. I’ve finally decided that after my four-month trip to England, we’ll be getting married once I returned to the States.”
Taking small steps back, she said, “This time, even if you end up in the hospital bed, the priest will wed us.”
The moment she disappeared, Lucas thread his fingers through his hair. A way out. He needs a way out. Only retrieving the glory of his company alone will Hera and her child will stop manipulating him.
**
Lucas was in his washroom, brushing his mouth whilst grabbing a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He looks lean and exhausted.
Thoughts about Sia still reel in his mind.
He was preparing for work on time to catch up with a few things left undone in his office.
A few moments after Danika left, he went in for the virtual meeting with the angel investors who are dizzy with the massive ROI they received for the month. They acknowledged Lucas’s effort in boosting sales through their adverts.
At least now, Lucas’s company is in tow with his competitors.
Lucas heard his phone buzzing in the room and he immediately spittle the foam in his mouth and rushed out to grab it.
He reached the phone in the middle of the second ring and flashed his eyes on the screen.
“Grey.” He hummed and strolled back into the bathroom, swiping the receiver tab at the same time.
“Yes, Grey?”
“Good morning, Mr. CEO.” Grey verbalized his greetings before cutting the chase. “I received an email from the Monson group in the middle of the night. They scheduled a meeting with you, the CEO of the Evangelista group.”
A smile split Lucas’s face apart. This is indeed promising. It only means one thing, he might earn Sia’s forgiveness.
“What time?” Lucas asked, his throaty voice slamming into the phone.
“11:am, sir.” Grey responded.
“Thanks. I’ll be there.” He said lastly and hung up the call. To say Lucas is giddy with excitement is an understatement. He’s over the moon right now.
Quickly he freshened up and headed to the Monson group with his Uber.
