Estrella and Ethan walked into the ballroom and exchanged greetings with Sia. All the while, Lucas hadn’t come up to Sia.
He nestled himself in the corner of the ballroom, watching her smile at people, sucking in her beauty which made his cock twitch with need.
Ethan came up to Lucas and kept him company, though Lucas’s eyes never left Sia’s. She’s a beauty to marvel at and Lucas is so doing it. Marveling in it.
“I must say you look different tonight.” Sia saw Danika making an entrée in the ballroom and she walked up to Danika.
Danika had always been the one taunting Sia but tonight she wants to be the one that will galvanize that annoyance in Danika. “But I don’t remember inviting you to my party.” She said swigging her champagne.
Danika cut her eyes in another direction as a smirk curled her lips. “I’ll always have my way whenever I want, slum girl. You can’t do a thing about it. Don’t forget I’m also a high-profile lady.” She told Sia, matching her contemptuous stare.
Sia rounded Danika, taking sips from her glass. “I thought you know better than this. You shouldn’t step foot in a place you weren’t invited, Danika. But you did. Do you actually think I’d let you stay here?” Sia threatened.
“Your words are no threat to me. They are like bees buzz. You know…I’m better off than dipping myself in a place like this. I mean, look at me. Do you actually think I’d do that? Knowing the fucking host is the slut having my fiancé’s cock behind my back?”
Sia was taken aback by Danika’s words. She flickered her eyes at Danika and spat. “What do you mean?”
Danika let out a dry chuckle, lowering herself to meet Sia’s ear she said, “You think I don’t know you fucked Lucas at your friend’s wedding?”
? On The Day Of Estrella’s Wedding.?
Immediately Sia walked out from the table because of what Danika said to her about having a hand in Mr. Monson’s death, Danika got up with a smirk a few minutes after Sia left and scrambled to the elevator to the first floor.
She wants to see the painful tears seeping from the crevice of Sia’s eyes. Walking through the empty hallway, with her heels clomping on the floor, she hunted for Sia.
Danika was so eager to see the all-potent Sia sag like a rag in front of her. She wants to impose dozens of pains on her, take pictures of her and display it on the media that Sia might have had a hand in her husband’s death that’s why she was crying.
Danika pulled to a stop when she spotted Lucas knocking on one of the room doors Surprised, she hid in the archway, watching him to know who he came looking for.
Suddenly, she heard the door creak open and voices screeched in the empty hallway.
Before Danika looked again, Lucas already entered the room. Paring her heels off, she hastened to the room door and perched her ears on it, listening to their banter.
“It’s Sia. He came looking for her. How dare he!?” She whispered under her breath.
Danika heard their voices getting high-pitched. She already knew they were arguing about something.
She couldn’t hear all they said but a few of their words fly into her ears.
“Lies! You can hardly call him your husband. Sia, accept the truth. I felt the truth when we made love months ago. You know….”
“That was sex!”
Danika heard them sputter and their arguments about sex gave her an inkling they had had sex. Images of the marks she saw on Lucas’s nape and shoulders the day he returned from his so-called meeting ambushed her mind.
Danika’s heart began heaving heavily. She remembered the hickey she saw on the crook of Sia’s neck the day she bumped into her on the road when she was scolding the little girl for not being careful.
“You know it was never sex Sia. I didn’t just fuck you. I made love to you. We made love. You came multiple times for me. You didn’t object to the morning sex. You know it’s our routine. You know.”
Lucas’s words pervaded Danika’s pores. Realization slammed on her face.
With rapidly blinking eyes, she staggered backward, choking on her thoughts.
“They made love. They made love.” She muttered under her breath. “I saw the marks. A proof was looking at me in the face that Lucas cheated on me yet I chose to believe his lies. He fucking lied to me!” She barked inwardly.
Her breath catches as she hobbled away.
“Gone. Gone. Gone.” Danika repeatedly howled inwardly. “I want her gone. I want her gone.”
She fumbled for her phone inside her bag, gripping it, she reached for Raymond’s number and without thinking she called him.
“I’m…. Danika. Please can we meet at the local bar?” She mouthed into the phone. Getting a ‘yes’ from Raymond, she cut the call and staggered back to the room door. However, by this time, Sia’s moans and the sounds of skin slapping skin boomed into Danika’s ears.
**
Shaking her head, Sia injected her tone with confidence, “I don’t know what you’re saying.”
As she turned to leave, Danika nudged her back and repeated the words she told Sia on the day of Estrella’s wedding when she met her in the elevator.
“Sluts are always sluts. Nothing would ever change. But one day, they get what they deserve.” Danika reiterated her words.
Sia bashed her eyes at Danika and tug her arm away from Danika’s grip.
Danika chuckled when she saw Sia skittering away from her like a chicken.
“Poor thing.” She murmured.
Sia’s insides were bashing her with words. Did she do a good thing fucking Lucas, despite knowing he had a fiancée? She wondered.
Her heart fooled her. It made her lose all her rational senses when it came to Lucas.
She lost herself, her mind and body didn’t co-operate that day. She was lost in his gaze. His words left chills on her skin in its wake. His touch sent a spear of heat down her sex. And remembering how he handles her in bed didn’t help issues.
So Sia gave in. She let him have her body. Not just that but he claimed her spirit. Now she’s blaming herself for letting loose on herself. She should have known Danika might find out.
What if she uses it against her? Sia thought.
There are chances that Danika will spread this news on the media.
Sia was called onto the stage to give a speech and the bright lights were switched to kaleidoscope lights which flickers on the stage as a spotlight. The ballroom got enveloped by darkness, except for the kaleidoscopic spotlight.
Sia stood up and charmed the guests with her smiles. A smile she managed to conjure which triggered Lucas’s feelings for Sia.
“I just want to thank y’all for coming to this grand celebration of Monson group’s hundred years of existence. This company and the family that owns it has a wealth of history, way too long, I can’t finish it if I begin to tell the story.”
“I’m honored that it marked hundreds years during my reign. It hasn’t been easy so far…” Sia’s eyes meet Silas’s and he thinned his lips together, enough proof to Sia that he’s seething seeing her standing gloriously on this stage.
However, Sia is chafed by the knowledge that her foes are in this hall. Silas, his mother, Danika, and probably her unknown foe.
Thinking about that made her body turn cold. “Since the day my husband passed on, I’ve been struggling to retain the orderliness he birthed in this company. And I must say I actually did maintain it so far. I have many things to say but I’ll keep it short. Thank you ladies and gentlemen for honoring my invitation. Welcome to the Monson group.”
Immediately Sia dropped the microphone a standing ovation greeted her.
She walked down the stage and hobbled to where Estrella was, but her eyes knitted with Danika’s and she scowled.
“You’re awesome, Sia.” Estrella said, clamping her in a hug.
“Thank you, girlfriend.” Sia mouthed.
Her heart was constricting for some unknown reason. The tension she felt when Lucas looked her way irritated her but she doesn’t know what to do.
‘Danika knows about our affairs. She knows.’ She yelped inwardly.
“Excuse me, Estrella. I need to use the restroom.” Sia said and zoomed off.
Heaving a heavy sigh, Danika gushed. “This is such a boring party. I should leave, don’t know why my mother invited me to such a stupid party.”
Estrella eyed her and curled her lips slightly.
On a whim, Danika spiraled on her heels and exited the hall.
At the restroom, Sia stood in front of the mirror, willing her tensed pulse to calm down.
‘Danika can’t do a thing. She’s just blabbering.’ Sia’s inner voice told her.
As she immersed herself in the silence of the restroom, she heard a rattling sound on the door.
Sia didn’t know what it was until she finished adjusting her makeup and dress.
Spinning the doorknob for the door to open it didn’t.
Sia tugged the handle, dragging it backward but the door refused to open.
“It’s locked from the outside. Who could have done that?” She wondered.
While pondering on what to do the light went out, submerging her into darkness. A total darkness.
Fear erupted inside Sia.
Her breath hitched as she fumbled to clamp on her phone. She shoved it out and tried to call someone but the network was out.
It dawned on her, her unknown foe is her in her mist.
“Open this door! Open this door!” She fearfully banged on the door, her palms ached, green veins popped out on her knuckles and her breath catches.
She hit on the door.
Banged on it with her head.
Flicked the handle.
Kneed the door.
But all was fruitless.
Within five minutes of a fruitless attempt to break the door, a loud bang resounded in the ballroom and the whole building vibrated like there has been an earthquake, only it’s an explosion.
“Fire!”
“Fire!”
“Fire.”
Sia heard people screaming and foots shuffling around to safety while clomping heavily on the floor.
“Fire!” Sia shouted as she saw the fire seeping through the nooks of the door, crawling into the restroom.
