Chapter Hundred and Forty-Four – Asking Logan.
Rihanna’s POV
I arrived at the Volcano before Jaden, my heart was beating heavily in my chest.
That was a new record, reaching some distance within ten seconds. I had felt weird before I started the run but I felt better now.
“Rihanna?” Jaden asked from behind me, as he got reached me. I smiled, folding my arms but I noticed he looked at me worriedly
“Are you okay?” he asked.
I nodded with a shrug. “Why? My speed looked too unreal for you?”
He smiled, shaking his head, he looked around. “Be careful, Logan should be around.”
I rolled my eyes. Was it my first time meeting Logan? Why did he think I can’t handle myself?
“You be careful.” I said back, marching around, trying to sense Logan’s energy.
“Okay then, we should both be careful.” He corrected, following me.
We both halted when Logan’s energy hit us. He was coming closer to us, with speed.
He may not have been home, but when he sensed his visitors, he came running back.
His hideout hadn’t been very close to the volcano but molten rocks were everywhere making it in a good hiding place still.
“I reasoned you hadn’t gotten a proper fight with Logan so do the torturing while I’d do the asking.” I offered to Jaden.
He quickly accepted.
Logan appeared before us. I guess he was halfway through changing to his Lycan form.
His shorts were tightened around his hairy legs. His big arms had torn parts of his shirt. Was he changing to human or that was it?
“You can now maintain your physique halfway? I guess that’s an improvement.” Jaden strolled towards him.
I turned from him to Logan? Maintain physique? So that was it? He could decrease his size?
“You two coming to find me… I can smell trouble.” The Lycan seethed.
“I smell death, your death.” I said. “But then I have some questions before the death.”
Logan glanced from Jaden to me. “If it’s about Mi Destino then I can assure you he didn’t run to me but to his aunt’s place at Blue Bloom.”
Mi Destino? Oh, that little scoundrel. I’d get him back after I’m done here. “Not him. Hunter! My Beta’s son. How do you connect with him?”
Logan had a confused expression before grinning. “Connect with him? You sound almost sure that I do. I don’t even know the kid so no, I don’t know what you mean.”
A huff left Jaden’s lips. “Then how do you know it’s a kid if you didn’t know the boy? Stop the nonsense. Is it a charm you use or what!”
The Lycan’s grin fell off and he furrowed his brows. “The charms at Boots and Rivers market can’t be so effective.”
If it wasn’t a charm then what was he using?
“Then, how do you control the child?” Jaden queried. “It will be in your best interest that I don’t beat the answer out of you.”
I smiled. Low-key I wanted him to.
Logan’s eyes dimmed down on Jaden.
He wasn’t even trying to defend himself in case Jaden attacked.
“I don’t have time for this actually. I noticed another Lycan visited and had been looking for me.” Logan remarked.
Another Lycan? Visited?
“Don’t worry, I told him that you’d be killed soon so he was on his way home.” Jaden said, taking more steps towards Logan.
Wait, he knew there was another Lycan here? What was that about? The Lycan was pissed with what Jaden said and his claws elongated.
“Logan, you asked for this.” I stated, rushing towards him whilst initiating my barrier.
He was focusing on Jaden so didn’t anticipate the attack, he was hit back and his eyes glowed.
“Wasn’t I supposed to do the torturing?” Jaden asked with an unbothered tone.
“Well, skip to the killing!” I gestured at Logan who was lounging at us.
Jaden pushed me behind him and we both dodged Logan’s attack.
I swiftly brought out the bottle in my waist bag but I wasn’t sure how to get it on Logan. “He needs to have an open injury first.”
My wolf growled within me, and I looked up. Our mate was injured. Okay, that was wrong.
I jumped before Jaden and initiated my barrier, sending Logan away. “What happened?”
“Well, he obviously ranked up after his fight with Chris.” Jaden hissed.
Ranked up? What other rank was he going to? He ran back to us but I sped away with Jaden.
“We should work on giving him an injury. I have something that can only kill him when that happens.” I explained.
Logan’s intimidating growl paralyzed me for a second but Jaden pulled me away from the boulder he threw.
“Where you enthralled by that?” he shook me to bring me back to conscious. I was conscious but the growl gets me every time.
I pulled Jaden with me. “C’mon!”
His injury could take a while to heal but it wasn’t delicate.
Just as Logan jumped high to pounce on me, Jaden swiped at his underside with his claws, making him fall down before me.
He rolled off before my heel got to his face. Jaden chased after him.
We hadn’t even gotten the answer concerning Hunter but Logan wasn’t ready to talk, he must have good reasons.
He had an injury so my charm should be applied on him. I turned to see that Jaden had shifted to his wolf forms.
His clothes laid on the ground, not torn so he could wear them again when he’d shift back.
For him to unlock his unruly beast meant that Logan was a hard time.
Jaden’s wolf kicked Logan with his hind legs and the Lycan went to the air.
I hurried and initiated my barrier so when he fell, he bounced up again, then crashed upon a molten rock.
Jaden and I heard his spine crack.
I rushed to Jaden’s wolf that was panting with it’s tongue out, exasperated.
My hand reached for my boots and a small sachet dropped, it had silver particles.
Logan tried crawling away but I poured the particles round about him, enough to give him a deep burn if he crossed it.
The last bit I spread on his face. He groaned, tried to rise but fell back again.
I’d give kudos to both Jaden and my barrier for this. “So now, let’s talk again, before your death, eh?”
“I will tell you nothing!” he snarled. “And I’m sure you’d prefer if I tell you nothing.”
Why will I? “Logan, don’t you see, you are dying today! I will fulfill my promise. So better tell me!”
He looked away from me, after an eye roll.
A growl from behind me made me leave him.
It was Jaden’s wolf.
I was stunned hearing Logan make a small whimper as the wolf came to him.
Jaden’s wolf claws elongated and he flexed it in front of the Lycan.
“It’s best you start talking or he’d start shredding.” I became the wolf’s mouth piece.
A wrinkle showed on the Lycan’s forehead, his lips widened to a grin. “That kid’s name Hunter, it was really lame of his mother.”
That was how he was starting? Hunter’s mother was dead. “Did you know Hunter’s mother?”
The lady died then Hunter became an orphan. Could Logan have had something to do with it?
