Chapter Hundred and Eleven – Petty.
Rihanna’s POV
Lana was crazy. I tried to calm her down.
Camilla stomped into the room I was changing in, holding a towel and a frown on her face. I slowly took the towel from her with a grin.
“I’m sorry okay? It’s my wolf, she has been waiting for someone to snap neck and Jonah seemed available.” I tried to defend.
She shook her head. “Last I remember, you taunted him on being scared of you and that pushed him to agree to the duel.”
I nodded, looking down. I was trying my luck.
“As a Delta, I know that fighting an Alpha takes a good toll on the Delta.” Camilla added.
Realizing where she was coming from, I felt more remorseful. It was annoying being compared to Chris.
My case was just needing someone to train with and not holding back, sadly, I’ve realized a Delta wasn’t the one.
“And that Alpha is also a Silver Wolf. Really hope that you did not break anything of his.” Camilla sighed, walking away.
My wolf was silent. “Don’t blame yourself. We did have fun.” I smirked, cleaning my sweaty face with the towel Camilla brought.
I went back to the training ground and Jonah was clothed already. He was checking his sides and hissing on each touch.
“I hope he didn’t break anything.” I muttered. Jaden wouldn’t like that. No Alpha would.
Jonah turned, to soak his towel in water again, he met my gaze and sighed. “Happy now?”
I shook my head, rushing towards him. “I’m not at all. My wolf vented on you. I didn’t play fair.”
He looked relieved hearing that. “While I was trying to go easy on you.” He tsked.
I made a hidden eye roll. Yeah right.
“Need help?” I offered, since it was hard for him to press his back with the cold towel.
His back was red and could swell if not pressed down. He tossed the wet towel to me and began taking off his shirt.
My eyes widened. Excuse me sir?
Would I stay close to him, pressing his back? Lana began chuckling. What’s funny about this?
“Ugh, do you have to take your shirt off?” I groaned, feeling uncomfortable if I’d be getting close to him.
“Return the towel and I’d do it myself.” He gestured.
I hissed. Was this was my pain to bear for beating his ass?
“Let me do it.” Camilla said, walking into the training ground. I felt so relieved and tossed it to her.
Jonah frowned. “Be gentle then.”
“Did you think I’d be?” I smirked, resting on the wall.
Camilla was a better choice as she’s gentle and played the role of the pack’s nurse sometimes.
Just then a warrior rushed in, painting. “Delta! Beta Beatrice needs you now! A warrior got injured while training.”
Camilla was already pressing the towel on Jonah’s back, she handed it to me and ran off.
And we were back to square one.
Sluggishly I crawled to where Jonah was and sat besides him. “As I said, I’m not gentle.”
I pressed the towel harshly on him, but he only bit his lips, in a quite seductive way.
As I turned to soak the towel in the bowl again, I noticed Jaden, standing on the door and his eyes on me.
Lana froze. I blinked rapidly before smiling.
“You wouldn’t believe what I did to your Delta!” I smirked, wringing the towel.
Jonah turned and fell back seeing his Alpha. I didn’t know why he grabbed his shirt but I was glad he was putting it back on.
“Our mate just caught us touching the body of a shirtless man!” Lana screamed. I rolled my eyes. “And so? It’s his Delta, isn’t it?”
Jaden smirked, shifting his gaze to Jonah. “Did you break something? I heard you two dueled.”
Jonah mumbled his words. “I’m not sure.”
“That’s nice then. ” I dropped the towel on Jonah, getting up. “We dueled, but I guess I shouldn’t have.”
I advanced to Jaden. “What have you been doing?”
His gaze was still on Jonah and darkened but he looked away, faking a smile. “I met your mom.” My mom?
His eyes darted to Jonah, who was leaving and then back to me. “What have you been doing?”
“You already know, dueling.”
“You weren’t dueling when I met you.” He stared into my eyes.
I looked away “I felt I hurt him so I was making it up to him.” Did I even need to explain?
“Yes!” Lana replied.
Jaden made an “Hmm” sound.
Lana said again. “I think he’s still mad at us.”
He’d be petty to be. I wasn’t his girlfriend or anything. And I didn’t do anything with his Delta.
“What did my mom say?”
“About what?” he raised a brow.
He just said he met my mom. I shook my head, “Forget it. I’d go rest now.” I tried moving away but he held my arm then pulled me back.
“What?”
He still had an unreadable expression. “Nothing.” He released me.
His behavior was sending Lana crazy. “He’s mad. Just apologize!” but for what exactly?
“Let’s duel.” He pronounced.
Both of us? “Why?”
“My Delta said you hurt his pride by winning and I’d like to avenge him.” His stated.
Was ‘avenge’ the right word?
“Yes, I’d win. I’m an Alpha and Silver Wolf.” Saying those words again reminded me that I shouldn’t have asked for a duel with Jonah.
“Win against me then.” Jaden responded, unbuttoning his shirt.
He was serious. “I don’t want to.” I can’t help but feel he’s venting on me.
His lips curled up and he wore a mischievous grin. “Cos you feel you won’t win?”
Oh, no, he didn’t. “Cos I don’t want to tend to your injuries like I did with your Delta.”
His eyes sparked and I sure it wasn’t from anger but some twisted… I don’t know. “It may come to that but it doesn’t mean you won. Come on.”
I took steps back, hoping to flee from the situation but Beatrice was walking in with a scroll. I felt relieved.
She slowed her steps seeing me frowning and Jaden’s shirt unbuttoned. “What happened?” she asked in mind link.
“Do you have something to report?” I asked out loud, so Jaden would be aware she was here.
I doubt he made an effort to button his shirts as Beatrice’s eyes widened. “Are you planning another duel with him?”
Quite the opposite, he was dueling with me.
“This can wait then.” Beatrice grinned. “Go ahead, we’d talk later.”
Really?
“Thank you, Beatrice.” Jaden smiled as my Beta walked away.
When she was out of earshot, I snapped my head at Jaden. “You seriously want to duel with your mate?”
His eyes narrowed. “You dueled with my Delta, why are things different if I duel with you?”
I folded my arms.
“And don’t fear, I’m not killing you.” He chuckled, taking off the shirt completely.
Lana came to the surface. “We won’t go easy on him.” I nodded. Hell, we wouldn’t.
