Chapter Seventy-Nine – Who took her?
Chris’s POV
Ray would have to go. His sister caused this. My lead warrior marched to me, she knelt down while still far off.
It had become a habit with her since she found Ray was her mate, it was like she was avoiding close contact with any male wolf.
“My warrior and the Beta are ready to look for the Lycan.” She declared, looking down.
I nodded. “Take care of yourself, my Beta and the warriors. Work together and bring the Lycan back. If you can’t, kill him.”
She bowed then rose up. “Can you give us the permission to rest as Black Rose or Silver Pack while searching?”
My eyes dimmed on her. It was expedient that the warrior paused somewhere while searching but why did it have to be either of those packs?
Red Moon had been off our pack Kingdoms so it couldn’t be them.
“Black Hills only. It was Silver Pack that caused the Lycan to escape in the first place. Stop only at Black Hills!” I answered.
She responded with another bow and marched out. Having the courtroom all to myself, I grunted out loudly.
I glanced at the empty throne besides me and patted it for how lonely it had become these few weeks.
Sasha wasn’t there to occupy it, neither the princess as she was mourning her mother and bestfriend being away from her.
My Delta, Edwin, came to my mind link and I opened it. “Any bad news?” those were normal these days.
“It’s kinda good news. I went to my mother’s house, before she met my father as her mate, and I found something of Sasha’s.” he said.
My forehead creased, did he have to add the ‘met my father as her mate’, he was well aware they aren’t mates. Or was he ignoring it?
Either ways, they were his parents. I left my throne. “Are you sure it’s hers? Where are you?”
“Around the market, it’s a small cabin around a lake. I remember my sister having this recently and she hadn’t visited my mother’s house.”
An item that belonged to Sasha was found in her mother’s home when she didn’t visit there? How possible was that?
My guards bowed as I left the courtroom, I froze turning to them. “Don’t let anyone in to wait for me. Send them to…”
I trailed off, realizing I had no one here to host them. No Luna, Princess, Beta was gone and my father was too broken.
“Just tell the servants to serve them tea while they wait. Okay?”
They nodded.
I shifted to my wolf to make the short run to the market, I had been avoiding meeting the people after the mate swap went viral.
The people would seem me unworthy, after all, my mother was a light to them but broke their trust.
I followed an old route around the market, the cabin was around a lake so I could go around the market.
The quality of the environment depreciated the more I walked deeper towards the cabin. Sasha’s mother had indeed lived a hard life.
Being accepted as a maid in the royal palace must have been the best thing that happened to her and meeting her mate, she’d be elated.
But she was actually deserving of an Alpha. A reward from the moon goddess to her for how hard her life was but… Red Moon thwarted it.
Either ways, she was happy with the Delta. And was still a nice lady.
I arrived at the cabin and shifted back to human form. “Edwin, I’m here!” I groaned, scaling the low wall.
I heard him struggling. I cornered to where he was and found a wardrobe on the ground and he was fighting with rats coming from it.
“You are looking for more things?” I asked.
He ran to me, holding a horsetail. “This. Sasha bought this recently. She didn’t visit my mom’s place but somehow it’s here.”
Then who brought it here? It meant she came here before she disappeared.
“Then how will this get here if she didn’t come…”
“Sasha will never come here. It’s a family issue and she really hates this place. I’m very sure she wasn’t the one who brought it here.” Edwin said.
“So she was kidnapped then her item was brought here? To prove what?” I questioned.
My Delta didn’t have an answer, he sighed with a little shrug. “Maybe to act like she stayed here for a while?”
I shook my head, attempting to walk away but he held me back. “I’m not sure but Sasha wasn’t here at all. Also, who takes a horsetail around?”
Horsetails were usually used for cleaning or room designs around here. It wasn’t a travel accessory. I heaved a sigh.
“For this enemy to know this house, then they are close to her.” I remarked.
“Not necessarily, the person could ask knowing my mother was a maid. It’s not a news. And the enemy surely isn’t from our pack.”
My eye brows raised. “And why? Why do you think that?”
He stoop down to the wardrobe. “I saw particles of a heavy mud and silver particles. This person might have come to kill my sister.”
“What wolf uses mud and silver particles to kill someone?” I couldn’t think of many. Wolfs are highly sensitive to silver.
“The mud particles meant that they were from muddy areas like Red Moon. The silver particles, meant somehow they are resistant to it.”
His words didn’t make sense but when I stooped low to investigate, I saw that the shoe tracks were really muddy.
Mud was rare round Black Hill’s cause it’s hilly. Red Moon was usually Red Land because of how much red mud there had.
And the silver particles? I didn’t know much wolves in Red Moon that withstood silver but since they had sorcery, they could do anything.
“I didn’t have a problem with Red Moon when Sasha was taken. Why would they take her from me?” I wondered out loud.
I looked back and discovered Edwin wasn’t around me. I sighed, leaving the ground. He was outside, staring down at a well.
“You think they killed your sister as put her in a well?” I scoffed.
“My sister wasn’t the strongest after she became Luna so yes, it’s very possible.” He frowned.
I had the urge to laugh. A wolf would infiltrate my palace, kidnap my Luna and also kill her? That wolf must have lots of guts!
That wolf must also want to have a problem with me, must have no regard for me, must really think I was less than a dog to try that.
They were only three wolfs I knew that had such guts but I didn’t want to let myself suspect them.
“Alpha, I think Silver Pack has to explain to us.”
I faced Edwin, he was thinking in line with me. The three people I’d suspect will be Jake Justin, but he wasn’t that bad.
Then Rihanna, but she made clear she didn’t care and killing Sasha will be a stretch. And the third will be that her Lead Warrior, Dara.
She was gutty and spared me no respect. But I wasn’t sure. Sasha had done nothing to her so all these will be suspicions.
