Chapter Seventy-One – Venting.
Chris POV
(Three Days Later)
It was over for me.
“Alpha King! Wait, please!” the Red Moon Delta begged but my father’s claws dug into his throat.
Vanessa was on the ground in tears, I didn’t even get her. Was there a point to crying? Her mother was a fraud, what was to cry there?
“How dare you!” my father barked. “How dare you use sorcery on me! You and that bitch of a woman!”
The bitch of a woman who was the mother of his children but it’s alright, I shared his rage. Red Moon crossed lots of limits.
I embraced my sister so she’d get a hold of herself but she just carried her wet face to my chest, I sighed. “Father, you are scaring her.”
My father paused, and gently dropped the Delta on the ground, his claws left his neck.
Vanessa turned to peeked at the Delta, bleeding from the holes on his neck. “Father, mother isn’t a bitch, she’s still your wife.”
My father’s eyes darkened on her, he stepped away from the Delta and ran his hands through his hair. “That’s inconsiderate of you, Vanessa.”
My sister looked down as my father eyed her. I let her from my hold. She was indeed being inconsiderate.
“You swapped my father’s mate with his Delta. Do you know the amount of chaos you caused in their lives?” I asked the Delta.
He was holding his neck, hoping it’d heal faster. I stooped to him and pinned his head to the ground. “Answer me, did you think of them?”
He choked on his own blood. “I was told by the former Alpha to find a witch to do his bidding and that was what I did.”
He didn’t sound as remorseful as he should. I kicked his stomach making him cough out more blood. “Father, you can vent on him.”
My eyes went to the scroll on my throne, the one Alpha Jaden had used to send this cursed information.
He deserved to know how grateful I was that he had reported this to me but he’d never know I was still saddened by this.
And he had sent this same scroll to all the packs around and news had even taken it towards the seven seas.
Red Moon deal with the Lycan and the prophecy had been unveiled. My throne will be questioned.
I heard a throat being slashed. Turning, it was my father holding the gullet of the Red Moon Delta, the one and only they had.
In a space of six months, they lost their Beta and Delta. And I was very sure Alpha Jaden had exonerated the Red Moon Alpha from this.
Him saying the Red Moon Alpha was not informed of the deal didn’t mean the Red Moon Alpha wasn’t later aware of the deal.
He saved Red Moon from being casted as a rebellious pack and only outed the direct perpetrators.
“Red Moon ceases to be part of this kingdom from now onwards.” My father muttered, under his breath.
“Father!” Vanessa lifted herself from the floor. “You can’t do that! My mother’s from there!”
Was she dumb? Her mother was not her father’s mate! Why was she still fighting for her?
My father, his hands till bloody, pointed at her. “You better watch your mouth, Vanessa. You’ve been really biased in this.”
I agreed with a nod.
“You should be thankful I haven’t looked for her and kill her myself for deceiving me for years!” my father added. I didn’t like that one.
Vanessa scoffed loudly at my father. “And you’d gain what? She bore your kids and was your Luna. Do you prefer a maid like Sasha’s mom?”
“Vanessa!” I dragged my sister back, she fell to the ground. She demeaned her father’s real mate while praising the fraud?
“Be careful. Are you justifying Red Moon’s actions?!” I asked her.
“And you?” she’s stubborn. “Rejecting a mate you knew wasn’t worth you, isn’t it swapping?”
My wolf, who had been dumbfounded by all the revelations of today, suddenly let out a guffaw of laughter, like he was mocking me.
My sister’s words stabbed through my heart and the journey of self degradation started.
“Chris rejecting Rih was your mom’s fault. She made him do it. No wolf in right senses rejects their mate!” My father shouted at Vanessa.
I was calm, my wolf’s laughter was tormenting. I never blamed my mom for my mistakes but she was indeed the bane of lots of them.
“Vanessa, go inside your room and think of your actions. Our mother was wrong for what she did. Don’t deny that.”
She still itched to say more but let it all out in a sigh, before sluggishly walking to her room. I called for guards to take away the dead Delta.
“And Sasha is missing.” My father exhaled. “Who knows if this is the punishment of the moon goddess for your mother’s sins.”
Of course, he’d make it sound like my mother was the evil from the prophecy.
Speaking of the prophecy, there were other issues that were brought to the light with Jaden’s message.
“We’ve to kill the Lycan. If the people realize we took it from Red Moon without killing it, they’d panic and raise tantrums.”
I spoke with a low tone to not trip my father’s temper. His chest was heaving, his mind was running, his eyes danced around to show that.
“Yes, there’s no need to kill Rih’s mate, she deserved another mate after all that happened. That stupid plan was from your mom.”
My shoulders slumped but I nodded. “Father, you should go and rest. The Delta had sent word that he’d keep his wife…”
“Yes, I don’t want his wife. She’s no longer my mate. She was swapped. They should remain together.” He finished my words. I nodded again.
“I’d go kill the Lycan then. Take care of yourself.” I said, taking steps back. He only heaved a sigh but no words left him.
I couldn’t imagine the amount of betrayed trust and pain he was facing.
The guards outside had scared expressions as I walked out, I ignored them. Today wasn’t Black Hills day at all.
I envisioned my enemies laughing at us for housing a fraud for so long, it made me wonder if that was the only thing that we were tricked in.
My mother lying to me about how she realized my father was my mate, all the emotions she felt, all were lies.
“Alpha! Alpha! It escaped!” My Delta ran to me, screaming and breaking my thoughts.
I frowned. “What escaped?” my eyes trailed through where he just came out from. It was the prison… where the Lycan was held at.
I rushed inside before he could explain what happened. My metal prison gate had been torn apart and a hole in the middle.
The walls of the prison, made with bricks and rods had been fallen down and a path made in it. “How did he get so strong?”
